Gratuitous posting for traffic, sorry! I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first and curious to hear stories about all of Mumsnet's birthing stories!

Were you bang on time? Late? Super early? Anyone's water break while speaking at a conference or at a family dinner? How was the labour? Any complications? ..were you prepared and how are your DCs now?

I know that this isn't necessarily sensitive information and that many posters may not care but this sounds like it could be someone gathering information for a survey or an article to me - I wouldn't be so free giving details to people on the internet, unless you really don't mind how they use it.

OverthinkingThis · 11/01/2020 13:31

39+1

InstitutionalMadness · 11/01/2020 13:31

DS1 - 36 weeks - 5lb 4oz

I wasn’t very good at being pregnant ☹️

SouthernComforts · 11/01/2020 13:32

All 4 happened on their own with no inductions thankfully.
Second one arrived early and he was the biggest, so was the most difficult labour.
Fourth one was very quick and I had no pain relief at all (no time!), but her birth was by far the easiest. Think my body was just so used to it by number 4 Grin

Autumnnightsaredrawingin · 11/01/2020 13:35

GetTheSprinkles · 11/01/2020 13:38

FTM too. Waters broke 41w and induced 2 days later as labour hadn't started. Stopped progressing at 6cm so had a c-section. Baby currently 7wo and BF as I type. Good luck and enjoy ; it's the best thing ever!

Skigal86 · 11/01/2020 13:38

39+1 went in to be induced as she was measuring big due to gestational diabetes, but was already in early labour, born at 39+2 at nearly a lb less than they’d predicted!

Tiredmumssquad · 11/01/2020 13:40

39+5, 2 days early but was the original due date the midwife told me before my scan Smile

Skyejuly · 11/01/2020 13:41

LaurieMarlow · 11/01/2020 13:42

39 and 41 weeks. 41 weeks was a planned c section. I’ve no idea how long he would have stayed in there if left to his own devices!

saturdaynightgin · 11/01/2020 13:43

39+4 and 39 exactly

RubyWho · 11/01/2020 13:44

First son - 35+1, waters broke in bed
Second son - 40+4, waters broke at home, as I got up from the birthing ball!

Lockheart yours are wise words and a good reminder to always think before you post. Personally I'm OK with this particular information.

CloudyVanilla · 11/01/2020 13:51

Ooh I'm so curious to see patterns too!

I went I to spontaneous labour 3 days after my due date and DD was born at 40 + 4.

I was induced 1 day after my due date with DS, imagine I would have hopefully gone into labour at a similar date to my daughter but I also had lots of water with DS so not sure if that would have made it harder for him to engage.

Am 39 weeks pregnant on this coming Tuesday and have an induction booked at 39 + 2. However since yesterday I've been feeling like I'm getting quite a few labour signs!

I'm being induced for an unstable lie though, so it would be sods law that the one time I am actively trying to not go into labour would obviously be the one time I don't go overdue Hmm

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 11/01/2020 13:53

Bang on due date for DC1
40+5 for DC2. I had tickets for a show at 40+1 (bought before I was PG) so was relieved to go a little bit over.

Littlemissdaredevil · 11/01/2020 13:54

Waters went at 38 + 0. DD arrived at 38 + 2
