Gratuitous posting for traffic, sorry! I'm 30 weeks pregnant with my first and curious to hear stories about all of Mumsnet's birthing stories!

Were you bang on time? Late? Super early? Anyone's water break while speaking at a conference or at a family dinner? How was the labour? Any complications? ..were you prepared and how are your DCs now?

41+4 with both of mine. Must be my natural gestational period I reckon.
Would have been very surprised if I'd had a third and they'd appeared sooner.

Emergency section followed by 3 planned sections. T'was a hard road!

Cwtch84 · 11/01/2020 21:06

First (and only) baby, spontaneous preterm rupture of membranes at 32w5d. Born at 32w6d. Intensive care for 3 days and 18 days in SCBU. Discharged at 3 weeks old, exclusively breastfeeding 4 hourly.
Not able to tell me why my waters broke early, nothing wrong with baby or me but suspect stress and anxiety were a factor (unrelated to pregnancy). Now 10 years old and in last year of primary school ❤️

First 31w 3ds and second 39w 1 day. I was in very slow Labour with my first a boy about 3 days. My waters didn't break until I actually gave birth. My second was really quick my waters broke at 2 am with no contractions or sign of Labour before then working half an hour contractions had started and were 5 mins apart and regular. I gave birth about 3 hours after my waters broke.

foreveranxious · 11/01/2020 21:13

DS - 6lb 5oz, waters broke at 37+3 whilst at a friends house. 69 hour labour followed by inducement x3 then an ECS and 10 days in NICU due to infection. Turned out I also had the same infection & basically my placenta got the flu!! Very unusual so I was told! Very stressful and worrying first baby!

DD - really wanted a VBAC but due to diabetes they didn't want me to go past my due date. But due to Royal Wedding (William & Kate) & the extra bank holiday, delivered at 40+4 by elective CS. Not a chance my DD was planning on coming out no matter how many times they tried to break my waters!! She was much bigger than my DS at 8lb 14ozs!

forevercurious · 11/01/2020 21:19

38+5. Waters accidentally broken by a sweep, he was born 7 hours later.

stophuggingme · 11/01/2020 21:20

DS 1 41 weeks
DD1 39+ 1
DS2 39+2

All inductions

Princessfaffalot · 11/01/2020 21:25

How many weeks? All of them. All the weeks. 43.5 weeks. And they said baby would be small so no need to induce. Bastards.

notquiteruralbliss · 11/01/2020 21:31

earliest was 39 weeks. Latest was 44.5 weeks (31 days overdue).

Sixgeese · 11/01/2020 21:31

DS 35 weeks, he was fine stayed with me in the ward and discharged the next day.
DD1 and 2 both induced at 37 weeks.

showmewhatyougot · 11/01/2020 21:44

42 + 3 Angry failed induction, luckily I went Into labour naturally that night and avoided my forced/recommended c-section.

saladfingers · 11/01/2020 21:44

forevercurious · 11/01/2020 21:47

@notquiteruralbliss 44.5 weeks! that must have been the longest 4 weeks, how come you went so overdue if you don’t mind me asking? I was told inductions happen after 12 days of being over.

nachthexe · 11/01/2020 21:48

40,40,40.
One CS, one back to back SVD with a failed attempt at internal rotation, one SVD with a broken clavicle and brain damage.
Two at 8lb6oz, one at 9lb.
At least they were on time.

BuntyBonus · 11/01/2020 21:49
