Hi all, I’m visiting my grandparents overnight, and I heard Gran coughing so I got up to see if she was OK, and she was asleep by the time I got in to the room she was sleeping in, and I’m now sitting at the kitchen table crocheting and Mumsnetting. What about you?

It's blowing a gale outside. I've got DS in bed with me as he had a nightmare. He's honking and snoring away 😴

lostsoulsunited · 12/01/2020 05:18

Lovely about the fostering but poor baby as well as lucky baby to be with you.
I am stressed about an appointment I have today that I don't want to go to but must.

Bluewavescrashing · 12/01/2020 05:19

like being trapped in the arse end of an off key pan pipe.

Excellent turn of phrase!

teejayem · 12/01/2020 05:20

Just fed baby and put her back down, DS (4) got in with us about half three and keeps kicking me. I started pricing up unaffordable Caribbean holidays abut an hour ago, spending a work bonus I am not even sure I'm getting, and got into a bit of a tripadvisor rabbit hole. DS will be awake for the day in about 40 minutes so I've made his breakfast for him in the rare event I go back to sleep before he wakes up.

AwkwardAsAllGetout · 12/01/2020 05:21

Awful insomnia not helped by a 9 mo dd who seems to be feeding constantly atm and a dh who denies he snores Hmm He’s just got up with her and taken her downstairs but now I feel incredibly hot which is unheard of for me, so I’m lying with the window wide open listening to the rain

Frenchw1fe · 12/01/2020 05:22

My dh was driving to a ferry port and had to be up at 4. I was worried he wouldn't wake.

DirtyDeeds · 12/01/2020 05:33

Alcohol fuelled insomnia

malificent7 · 12/01/2020 05:39

I wake up at 6am every day. It's Sunday morning so no alarm but my body clock says "wake up! "

FrenchyQ · 12/01/2020 05:58

Too much on my mind.... My grandad died yesterday morning. My dad (his son), had surgery on Friday to have the lymph nodes removed from his neck, took my mum to see him yesterday, was quite stressful seeing my dad in hospital as he's always been pretty healthy. Breaking the news that his dad had died while he wasn't around was so difficult.

SayitBeit · 12/01/2020 06:09

Hormonal insomnia. 2 nights a month, every month, a week before my period is due.

Im so sad, I have been marking it on my calender every month for 2 YEARS!

I hope it goes when I hit the menopause.

But then I will be awake sweating.

Jokie · 12/01/2020 06:10

@frenchyq : sorry to hear about your grandad and I hope your dad is ok.

I was woken up by cats fighting outside and now I'm awake

TARSCOUT · 12/01/2020 06:14

Dogs dont seem to know it isn't a work day and after ignoring the pup yesterday morning (and then having to clear up after her), decided to let them out this morning. Oh Frenchie that's so.sad

Salene · 12/01/2020 06:20

I'm away to head out running before my 3& 5 year old wake up.

Leafyhouse · 12/01/2020 06:25

Same here. Early Sunday gym session for me. Mind you, was out partying until 3:30am on Friday, so I should just be about in balance for the weekend.

Mimi91 · 12/01/2020 06:34

Been awake for a couple of hours thanks to anxiety. I'm pregnant and torturing myself with hypothetical future scenarios.

What if I'm a rubbish mum? What if I turn my back on my child for a second and something terrible happens? What if no one turns up to their birthday parties? Confused

Ouchaheadinmybehind · 12/01/2020 06:42

Had to set my alarm for 5:30 am to prepare & take my first moviprep....Envy

victorioussponges · 12/01/2020 09:29

@redcarvoue nooo don't tell me I've got another 7 years of this! 😉 Seriously though, I'm so glad it's stopped for you! Did you get desensitized or did you treat it?

bloodywhitecat · 13/01/2020 00:35

And here we are again. I love the idea of letters for when they are grown, my first foster child will be moving on to adoption soon and I will do this for her. Tonight I am also worrying about DP who has been called back for a full colonoscopy after being told there was nothing to worry about, he's going later today and I will be glad once its all done.

24hourshomeedderandcarer · 13/01/2020 00:47

its quarter to 1 here so not really late but im up all night every night anyway as both kids dont sleep

i spend me nights.comping, reading on my phone, mumsnetting and caring for the kids as they need 24 hour care

Barnowl25 · 13/01/2020 00:58

I fell asleep on the sofa and had a terrible nightmare. Can't get back to sleep jumping at every noise. Dogs are snoring. Won't sleep properly all night now. I need a new mattress.

custardbear · 13/01/2020 01:06

Terrible nightmare here also 😫
So scared, had to run from very mexican drug lord type people and also keep my kids safe but the scary people, who were after me 🥺 - just before I woke up they captured me and were about to cut my toe off 😱😳.... horrible feelings

MadisonAvenue · 13/01/2020 01:13

I’ve been waiting for our son to get home. He’s spent the weekend with his girlfriend who is away at university, a 5 hour drive away. He visits her twice monthly.

nonsensicalmess · 13/01/2020 01:21

DS woke up vomiting an hour ago. After cleaning him, changing bed clothes etc I've got in beside him as I don't want to leave him on his own the rest of the night. Can't sleep though!

MidnightBlue28 · 13/01/2020 01:40

Fibro insomnia... shattered and tried to have an early night, soon as I close my eyes I’m wide awake again 😢

ButterflyRuns · 13/01/2020 01:45
