To ask why you are awake?

Hi all, I’m visiting my grandparents overnight, and I heard Gran coughing so I got up to see if she was OK, and she was asleep by the time I got in to the room she was sleeping in, and I’m now sitting at the kitchen table crocheting and Mumsnetting. What about you?

Usual insomnia here, am more or less nocturnal these days, love the peace and quiet of night time but would like to sleep occasionally! Am self-employed so able to grab a nap during the day. Am watching stuff I’ve recorded and will then whack up the heating as that usually has me drifting off, love to everyone else awake for whatever reason

I work almost constantly. I am kind of off tomorrow/today, so I'm making the most of my kind of freedom from early morning starts by staying up until the sun comes up, drinking JD and coke and watching true crime on YouTube.

I probably should be in bed as I'm highlighting and cutting someone's hair tomorrow/today but they're family and they're not paying so I'm not counting them as actual work since I don't actually know when I have an actual day off but I do know it's before 18th Feb as my rota goes up until then.

Am currently waiting for my eldest (who is awake because she is hosting a birthday sleepover) to come and read my tea leaves.

Jet lag

I woke up to cook for my DD coming in from work at 1am and now I can't go back to sleep.

I was ready for bed 3 hours ago but insomniac DD here for the weekend so stayed up chatting with her.

Menopausal insomnia

Bipolar brain fizzing, and worrying about my best friend whose step mother died yesterday.

Sciatica. Just taken 2 codeine as it's excruciating .

I suffer from a chronic illness and have some blocks of days where I’m just awake, I’m just starting to feel sleepy.

It is blowing a hooley here, whistling chimney is very annoying, it’s like being trapped in the arse end of an off key pan pipe. At least the rain dripping on the chimney draught ballon has tailed off.

Almost 39 weeks pregnant. Sore back, belly feels like a cannonball, and I feel a bit sick, and just some general insomnia thrown in for good measure.

I woke hungry and then started reading on here while I ate and couldn't stop

And I'm still a bit hungry!

I needed a wee! And when I got back into bed the cat has come for a cuddle. I can’t shuffle back down without moving him so am happily mumsnetting for a bit instead!

It's only 11 here and our dinner guests just left. I listening to the wind gamer the window and hoping a tree doesn't fall on the house! Worrying about all the prep I didn't do for the ice storm were meant to have tomorrow.

Partner fidgeting all night, he’s now gone to work and I need to be up in 2 hours to also go to work for a long day

I have flu. Been off work a week. Worried Im still not fit for Monday as my tonsil has swollen and I have the worst cough which has kept me up for hours. Glad DH choosing to sleep in other room.

Because my children are torturing me 😭
Both of them sick, both in my bed all night fidgeting and whining and DD has been up since 4. Just waiting for DS to inevitably wake up as soon as she goes to sleep again.

Always wake up for a wee at about 3, today I couldn’t get back to sleep so laid awake listening to the rain and DH’s snoring for an hour before I decided to get up, now on the sofa drinking a cup of tea.
Debating going back to bed for an hour or so

Big dinner. Has made me hot and full!

Rarely sleep beyond 5 regardless of the time I drop off , but today it was 0430 from midnight 🕛 .
