If you want to leave fine, goodbye
But you can’t be half in half out !

I did read somewhere that Meghan's dad won the lottery in the US and sent her to a private school then. Probably fake news ! ? but I do believe she was privately educated and her dad had a very good job back then.
She certainly didn't grow up with the money Harry has, but they were not poor either.

Devereux1 · 10/01/2020 13:59

How does Meghan view her new Canadian host's PM's "blackface" incidents? Strange, she kept very quiet about that. Hmm

GetOffYourHighHorse · 10/01/2020 13:59

'Thatd be totally pandering to them'

It will be pandering to them but the RF have too much at stake both reputational wise and from a family point of view if they contest their wishes.

I think they should indulge them and leave them to it. Harry will always resent the fact he isn't as important as William and at least setting them free will stop it festering. It really is bizarre that it has come to this and to launch their royal website without consultation is incredibly arrogant (for the pp who said we can't say if they are arrogant as we don't 'know' them, well their actions tell us all we need to know).

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 14:07

Regardless it can't be argued that she married into money as she was wealthy already

Wut?

Of course it can be argued. There are different levels of wealth. Someone with 100 million lives a totally different life than someone with 1 million. Or 10 million. It’s the difference between flying first class and chartering a jet. Between designer dresses and bespoke. These things make a huge difference. And the thing it does to someone’s personality, the sudden elevation I mean, it’s surprisingly.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 10/01/2020 14:07

One at least of them is narcissistic possibly both of them. They only want adoration but on their terms. There have been leaks IIRC about not taking advice from experienced courtiers. They will carry on doing what they like until they end up destroying themselves. Hopefully they don’t take the RF with them.

Al1cewith2020vision · 10/01/2020 14:18

Didn't Narcissus eschew happiness to sit and stare at his own glorious reflection?

BonnesVacances · 10/01/2020 14:21

@BonnesVacances Your post is hilarious and also total rubbish. It has been talked about in many media outlets - here’s just two examples:

Ok, fair enough. I haven't been reading the papers. Grin But my view that our opinions on Meghan are borne out by what the media tells us and how she's presented still stands.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 10/01/2020 14:26

I must admit I did think it was odd that the queen had photos displayed of William, Kate, their kids, Charles and Camilla on her desk for her speech. The RF don't manage themselves very well do they. No self awareness at all, yet with all their advisors you'd think someone would say 'oh let's have both brothers photos or none your majesty'.

windycuntryside · 10/01/2020 14:35

Ffs this is their “leave us alone or we leave” calling card. Btw you can still fund us, because, you know, this is not our choice. Threats to the media to not touch them or else. Just go, they don’t need permission, they have more money than most will ever have.

Perhaps I should have quoted you. You said that "There are people who grow up with wealth who behave appropriately, and then there are those who marry into wealth and become outrageously narcissistic and out of touch with reality."

She didn't grow up with wealth but at the point of marriage she was wealthy already so she didn't marry into wealth. Therefore no reason for it to have made her narcissistic and out of touch with reality. You have no idea what her personality is because you don't actually know her and I just reading the reports in the Daily Mail or whatever.

Devereux1 · 10/01/2020 14:40

Is Fiona Mcilwham still their private secretary?

Who is advising/letting them in this entire car crash?

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 14:42

@woodchuck99

I still maintain she has married into wealth, because she has married into a stratospherically wealthy family. Significantly wealthier than she.

You don’t know her either! I am making assumptions based on her behaviours. As are you. She might be nice as pie as you assume, she might be a manipulative bitch as I assume. It’s impossible
To know who is correct so your point is a little silly!

woodchuck99 · 10/01/2020 15:15

Yes but if she already had a few million in the bank is probably not made a huge improvement in the quality of her life. She had enough anyway to not worry about going first-class planes or extravagant holidays etc. The main difference in her life now would be the loss of privacy.

You don’t know her either! I am making assumptions based on her behaviours. As are you. She might be nice as pie as you assume, she might be a manipulative bitch as I assume. It’s impossible

I'm not assuming she's as nice as pie at all! I'm not saying anything about her personality. You are the one doing that. All I am assuming is that I have no idea what she is actually like as the only thing I have to go on our newspaper reports many of which are false. My comments are based on the fact that I think being privileged shouldn't mean you have to put up with being vilified in the media. Also,
if I hated my job and could afford to leave it I would as would most people so not sure why anyone is outraged that she is doing the same.

Because, presumably, You would not still expect someone to be providing you with a company car and other additional perks when you left? The ability to trade off the company name etc?

I am not going to continue arguing re the wealth - you aren’t really grasping what I mean, and it’s not really an important point i made in the first place. I have experienced it personally, though. There is first class plane ticket money, which she had. Then there is private jet money, which she now has. The two are vastly different. The difference in amount of wealth between her life pre and post marriage is dramatic and yes, it does make a huge difference. Trust me on this.

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 15:39

@Devereux1

You make the point much better than I did!

Devereux1 · 10/01/2020 15:45

@Devereux1 You make the point much better than I did!

Thank you! But someone doesn't think so - I have no idea what I said which broke any guidelines, but MNHQ has deleted it! Confused

woodchuck99 · 10/01/2020 15:47

No, the main difference now, other than the massive leap in wealth, is the innate adoration and attention that being an HRH instantly brings.

There seems to be innate hatred and attention as well though and clearly she feels that outweighs any adoration.

Because, presumably, You would not still expect someone to be providing you with a company car and other additional perks when you left? The ability to trade off the company name etc?

Do you actually think she wouldn't leave if she had to give up the company car and additional perks? She earned a few million before getting married and Harry has inherited a few million to. They don't need "the perks" to live relatively wealthy life.

woodchuck99 · 10/01/2020 15:51

Yes, I'm sure you fly by private jet everywhere.Hmm

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 16:14

@woodchuck

IDGAF if you believe me or not - I’m giving you my opinion based on some experience. If you don’t want to believe it, don’t! Doesn’t bother me in the slightest. 🤷🏻‍♀️ You’re putting words into my mouth anyway, but it’s fine.

There seems to be innate hatred and attention as well though and clearly she feels that outweighs any adoration

I suspect she expected 100% adoration and has been shocked not to receive it.

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 16:16

Do you actually think she wouldn't leave if she had to give up the company car and additional perks?

She wants the title.

Conformingtoregulations · 10/01/2020 16:23

Crispy I totally get what you're saying re the wealth aspect

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 16:26

conformingtoregulations

Thank you!!!! I was honestly starting to think I just be insane or something, speaking another language.

crispysausagerolls · 10/01/2020 16:27

*i was just insane

woodchuck99 · 10/01/2020 16:55

She wants the title

Again, you don't know what she wants as you don't know her.
