Well Charles doesn’t fund his siblings, I don’t think? - so not sure William would be expected to fund his brother? I’m assuming there is another fund that keeps the children of the monarch going because someone must be funding Andrew, Edward and Anne?

I think they need to stop taking so much of the duchy of Cornwall money ASAP. You can’t say you’re going to cut down your income by just 5% but because of that basically step down from half of what you were doing.

I don’t mind them stepping down a bit but they can’t keep taking his Dad’s money so much then.

Absolutely right to go and leave the xenophobes behind ! Looks crap for England and future queen Kate who did nothing to support bullying Meghan receive. Even though Kate is happy to champion anti-bullying charities she couldn't accept or help this newest book-racial member of her family . This is huge for the royal family and the whole world has seen how set in the dark ages this institution is - I absolutely loved them all - but now can see that unless you are in "the set" the likes of Kate and Will have no time for you and Meghan has blown that illusion I and so many others fell for wide open -

By the way I think those people that allow Kate their support but criticise Meghan at every turn should really check their closet racism .. it's so easy to package it as something else that she's "annoyed" you about .. but so obvious it's just because Harry chose a girl whose ancestry you don't approve of ..

He also profited from the sale of Balmoral Castle and Sandringham House to George VI. Both estates are private property and not part of the Royal Estate, and were therefore inherited and owned by Edward, regardless of the abdication.

Irma, he also retained huge portions of the income from the Duchy of Cornwall and withdrew a lot of cash (over £1 milllion, a fortune then) he had access to as king. The monarchy was impoverished for quite a while as a result, even during our Queen's reign.

No way are H&M getting a deal like that. They have no leverage and aren't important enough.

Talk about double standards. They don't want to be part of the monarchy, but still want to profit from being part of it. Hypocracy at it's worst (just like all the air travel they do when at the same time telling others not to!).

I think they're right to step away as clearly they are not happy. It's a shame as they could have followed Princess Anne's example and raised fabulous children outside of the royal bubble without all this agnst.

Nothing to do with racism, closet or otherwise. Kate has behaved impeccably and has toe-d the line with what the Royals want her to be. Meghan has come in like a bull in a china shop, wanting things her way. The behaviour of the two different wives has been chalk and cheese.

While they’ve been on their extended holiday the rags have been quieter. I know these things are more complicated than they seem but is it not possible to gradually go quiet, withdraw more and more, relinquish your titles, pack up your publicly stated opinions and beliefs for a while and live very nicely on your millions? It feels like they’re playing peek a boo with the media and cherry picking the bits of royalty they want. If truly want privacy (and who could blame them) then there must be a better way.

But they wanted the publicity and attention and glamorous public lifestyle. They've brought it on themselves by their attention-seeking and wanting the "luvvie" lifestyle.

Look at Anne and Edward to see that it's perfectly possible to be a Royal who's not living in a media goldfish bowl.

Meghan has been targeted by some media I think and I do think some of it is to do with race.

I was a massive fan of hers when they got married. I loved their wedding and thought she sounded so cool with all the causes she spoke about. I still don't dislike her now.

Also, I never thought much of Kate Middleton until recently, because I found her insipid and bland. But...and I hate how this sounds, as I was a MM fan girl before, but compared to meghan she now seems amazing . But then, she would be wouldn't she as she is meant to be doing all this stuff? She's going to be Queen some day, so you would expect her to be more involved with the royal duties so meh.

BUT, something has gone awry with H&M. I think it started after that documentary tbh. I swear someone must be sabotaging them. It was so bad and so badly timed and nothing has come across well to me since then. Neither of them sounds good anymore, which is such a shame as Harry always struck me as the funnest royal (him and Camilla) and I loved Meghan. Now it's sometimes a whinge fest, which means they don't appeal to the traditional royal fans OR the ones like me who liked them because they seemed a bit of a breath of fresh air.
