I've been invited to a wedding (family). They've requested people don't give cash or gifts, but put in a scratch card.

AIBU to just put a £5 scratch card in? Blush

I'm really not sure. They've asked for it, after all. I usually give wedding couples £50 or £100 to close friends and family.

I'm not sure I'm comfortable putting £50 worth of scratch cards in... Says she who religiously plays the lottery twice a week

It’s a lovely idea and I’d take them completely at their word - they’re making it very easy for you, and also avoiding you going to unnecessary expense.

We stated on our invites that we didn’t want anything other than people’s company on our wedding day, but if anyone did want to give something then please make a donation to charity. Some people did, but others went out and bought gifts, which we really didn’t need, weren’t at all us and which we then had to appear grateful for. I really wish they’d just done as we’d asked!
