In opposition to the brilliantly funny 'ick' thread, would love to know what single random thing made you drop your knickers and think phwoooaarrrrrr?

Mine with now DH was the first time we met. A group of people were playing rounders in the park and the tennis ball came flying towards us and DH just effortlessly caught it, one handed, and without missing a beat carried on chatting to me. I very nearly jumped him there and then.

He made me laugh, properly deep down in my guts, uncontrollably laugh until my eyes were streaming and I thought I'd never stop. He can still do that to me, a thousand years later.

Strawberryoranges · 06/01/2020 00:42

Was 19.

How successful and driven he was in his business and job. Drove an expensive BMW, smelt good, everything about him exuded wealth. Tall. Was older so seemed really mature compared to men my age.

6 months later we go married and still married 18years later.

joystir59 · 06/01/2020 00:44

Work boots, cargo pants and high vis jacket, and her big brown eyes, and how funny and kind she is.

Loftyswops988 · 06/01/2020 00:45

Her voice and accent. She's from the other side of the UK from where we live and it stood out in the sexiest way!

Oldstyle · 06/01/2020 00:50

Oh yes forearms. And a Geordie accent. Sigh.

CodLiverOil556 · 06/01/2020 00:54

It's the way he looks at me and also puts his hands on my face when he kisses me. He makes me feel like I'm the only girl in the world - I've never had this before and am enjoying every second. His kisses make me melt and have the fanny gallops and he also tucks stray hairs behind my ear before he kisses me ooooooh have come over all funny just thinking about him Grin

AgeLikeWine · 06/01/2020 01:07

His bright blue eyes, and the first time I watched him cook. He started by nonchalantly sharpening his knife on a steel like a pro, then proceeded to chop an onion precisely into tiny uniform pieces in about 5 seconds, all while chatting to me. Swooooon!!!

He arrived late to a conference I was at and looked quite grumpy at first. He knew the colleague I was with. DH is tall and broad and dark. He looked at me with his dark green eyes and smiled and I got all hot. Then when there was a coffee break he was just funny and passionate about his subject and had this very attractive Yorkshire accent. He took his jumper off and turned his shirt cuffs back half way up his forearms and loosened his tie. I was very disconcerted by him physically.
Our first date we went for a drink and it was such a good night. He came back for coffee and we just sat and talked and laughed for hours. He said he should 'probably' go home and I said yes he 'probably' should. We went into the hall and he put his coat on and we sort of stood there. He said he'd really enjoyed the night and asked if I had. I said yes. He said 'D'you think you could possibly bear to see me again then' smiling. I said I thought I possibly could. We were just all gazy and smiley. He asked if he could give me a hug and a kiss and I said yes. It was a big hug and one gentle kiss and another hold tight.
I pushed him out of the door! When he got home he rang me just to say 'I had the best time and I just wanted to say goodnight again'.
He asked me to marry him 10 days later and I said 'Don't be so ridiculous, we don't know each other' but I wanted to say yes. He asked me about 5 months later and I said no again and he asked me months after that and I said yes. We got married about 4 months after that.
He still has the same effect on me. I have never felt like I made the wrong choice - apart from when my hormones went mad for a couple of weeks during my first pregnancy and even his breathing made me furious.

WoodliceInSunderland · 06/01/2020 01:08

You lot are so lucky!

I can a few remember phwoor moments in my life but never with my DH.

Honestly, he just never pissed me off enough to dump him and he proposed at the right time when I was beginning to stress about my age and wanted a family. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I can't imagine what it must be like to look at your husband and think, Wow!

TheSandman · 06/01/2020 01:46

You realise, of course, that all the men reading this thread are going...

"Hmmmm, forget the Lynx and the flash motor... all I've got to do is roll up my sleeves..."

But I get it, Men's forearms for it for me too. There's a kind of ripple under the skin that you don't really see anywhere else on the body. That and flat bellies. They don't have to be ripped, just flat. Which is odd because I like a bit of a tummy on a woman.

Blueredemption · 06/01/2020 01:52

His voice, deep & sexy, his face in general & his gorgeous mouth, his arms, his height & strength, in fact just HIM!!

SimonJT · 06/01/2020 06:08

He has really big, round, deep blue eyes with really long eyelashes. When he looks at you it feels like he’s looking into you.

He has really pink, really big lips with a perfect notch thing in the top one, I don’t know if it has a specific word in English.

He also has an amazing bubble butt.

He’s really kind and calm, I’ve never heard him say anything negative about anyone.

As much as I love all of those things, I know I’m in trouble when he comes to my home, he always makes a point of spending a good half an hour playing something with my son. That’s exactly when I know he’s got me.

MelroseHigginbottom · 06/01/2020 06:53

DH and I met at work (he was new and I was training him). On maybe the 1st or 2nd shift, he needed to ask me something slightly private (yes, work related!) And so he came really close to me and spoke in a hushed tone looking me deep in the eyes... I could have leaned in to kiss him right there! We were married 5 months later Grin

BankAngle · 06/01/2020 07:04

Met him through work.
Olive skin, craggy face, a few scars, full lips, liquid brown eyes, lovely accent and a smile that could light up a room. Plus tanned forearms, great body, huge hands and he looked super cool in sunglasses.

I felt like I had been punched in the stomach and thought 'oh my god who is this beautiful man'.
I didn't sleep for 3 weeks after this and had to wait a year till we got together.

He was and still is so totally unaware of the affect he has on women and 16 years later he is pretty much the same except he now rocks the silver fox look.

I can't keep my eyes off him and he is oblivious to other women watching him.

The way he holds my face or puts his hands in my hair when we kiss, oh Lordy.

Bumpsadaisie · 06/01/2020 07:33

Lol the near unanimous agreement about strong hands and forearms with rolled up shirt sleeves plus ability to park confidently. Smile

happycamper11 · 06/01/2020 07:36

Tbh the parking doesn't impress me with all his beepy sensors at all angles. Wonder how easily he'd manage mine which is entirely beep free.

NoSauce · 06/01/2020 07:38

Lol the near unanimous agreement about strong hands and forearms with rolled up shirt sleeves plus ability to park confidently

God yes. Been with DH over 25 years and I’m still secretly impressed by his parallel parking skills Grin

okiedokieme · 06/01/2020 07:38

Smile ... early days so I'm still amazed a man finds me attractive having had my self esteem knocked by stbexh

SallyWD · 06/01/2020 07:39

His smile, his sunny nature, his joie de vivre.

SuperficialSuzie · 06/01/2020 07:40

Early on in the relationship I was cooking for the kids and he had just popped in for a cuppa on his way past.

My empty tins of tomatoes were on the side and he washed them and crushed them before putting them in the recycling. He said he'd heard about animals getting their heads stuck in tins so this was to avoid that.

It was an insight into what a gentle caring man he is to care for other creatures that gave me that phwoar moment.

okiedokieme · 06/01/2020 07:42

@bumpsadaisie

If his car is like mine, the camera makes parking a doddle. But fixing a car, now you are talking - I pay a guy to top up my oil and check the tyres so I'm easily impressed!

Fochit · 06/01/2020 07:42

Voice - it was the voice

ToffeePennie · 06/01/2020 07:54

I met him doing am drams.
The way he lugged around bits of staging and scenery had me melting, then the eyes and i was totally helpless.

Chochito · 06/01/2020 08:19

Definitely agree with forearms and cupping face / tucking stray hairs / touching my hair before and during kissing!

peaceanddove · 06/01/2020 10:37

DH has the most incredible, natural smell. Can't even begin to describe it, but it's totally addictive and just smells like 'home'. He showers every day, and I hate him smelling fresh from the bathroom. I love it when he starts smelling like him again, overlaid with the faint lingering smell of his after shave.

I honestly think I'm addicted to his smell. Sometimes, if he's not around, I smell the t-shirt he sleeps in, just to get my fix.
