In opposition to the brilliantly funny 'ick' thread, would love to know what single random thing made you drop your knickers and think phwoooaarrrrrr?

Mine with now DH was the first time we met. A group of people were playing rounders in the park and the tennis ball came flying towards us and DH just effortlessly caught it, one handed, and without missing a beat carried on chatting to me. I very nearly jumped him there and then.

Donald Trump hands. Say no more.

The way he looked at me like there was no-one else in the room. He still looks at me like that. And his gorgeous long legs.

My husband has these amazing aquamarine eyes with little hazel flecks near the pupil. Really unusual. Also his broad shoulders.

Handsome with an American accent. Treated me like a queen but also like an equal, and still does. He asked permission to hold my hand, and before he kissed me.

21 years, 3 kids later, we still laugh together and are in love. He held me up and kept our family together, when our oldest child died suddenly, and I lost the will to live.

I tell my daughters to marry the most decent man or woman she meets, just like I did.

I love this thread. It might be a good one to revitalise in these difficult lockdown conditions. Let’s remember why we love these pricks we’re stuck inside with! 😆

Incidentally, I’m another vote for good forearms, with rolled up short sleeves while driving.

I had a Norwegian boyfriend at university - he set my physical taste in men for life Grin which is to say tall, blond or red hair, blue eyes. I'm by no means opposed to other physical types but Nordic is a real thing for me.

A Scot's accent (again this was triggered by a man I dated, had never thought about it as being attractive previously but now I love it)

Good manners - not in the stuffy etiquette way but in being thoughtful and considerate of others. I think that's very sexy and I never understood why some women love arseholes, I suppose it takes all types.

He came to our first date straight from having a tattoo done and five minutes in he took his jeans off because I wanted to see it. His thigh muscles were something else. I nearly dropped my knickers right there in Costa.

Two that have stood out, first date with an ex, she looked pretty in her photos. However, when we met on our first date, she was a spitting image of Lara Stone, complete with gap in her teeth, then she spoke, omg sounded like Julie Andrews. I nearly passed out, and felt chemistry the like of which I'd never felt.

The date was the single best date I've ever been on, we dated for 4 months. However, her life was a mess, so I called it a day in the end, she contacted me recently on valentines days to say i hi and wanted to meet but I said no due to being committed to another.

Current girlfriend, soon to be wife, her eyes, she's Eastern European, her eyes are so penetrating and piercing, incredible blue eyes. Her character, very intelligent, feminine, strong family relationship values. Very possessive but loving.
We've been together for 3 weeks in lockdown and and it's bliss, It's like a living dream, never in my life have i been in sync with someone.

Ex wife on the other hand was and still is romantically attached to her career. Hence the ex part.

He looked nice, that cheeky sparkle in his eye.
But the first time he kissed me, my toes curled in my shoes, never in my life have I jumped someone, I was scared ran away.
We had children and a life till he passed, I miss my friend and lover.

stopgap · 05/04/2020 12:46

Great physique, smile, and very funny and self-deprecating.

His forearms, hands and cologne. 10.5 years of marriage later and it still gets me Grin

Tunnocks34 · 05/04/2020 20:33

Mine is a little cheesy I think, because we’d been very good friends for a long time. I don’t ever remember thinking ‘phwar’ when we were friends - although I definitely never thought he was ugly, I just didn’t see him that way.

Anyway, I was struggling with leaving an abusive boyfriend and, I was using a lot of cocaine. Not so much that it impacted my everyday actions, but enough that I would be spending £150-£200 a week on it to sometimes just go to the pub for a drink. Every single one of my friends were doing it too it seemed and so to them, I guess it seemed like I was enjoying myself.

My now husband one day sat me down and said ‘what are you doing to yourself, your laughing and doing these drugs but I can see you’re dying inside’

I’ve never felt so safe. It was like coming home out of the rain. I know I tried it on that night, he refused - helped me to stop taking drugs over the next couple of months and it was a bit like ‘how have I never noticed how sexy you are when you’re laughing?’

Orangers · 05/04/2020 21:58

At the beginning it was mainly his wonderful letters showing a very sensitive soul... then once he’d persuaded me to give him a try and I fell for his body hair... I still love looking at him in the shower....
