Jolyon Maugham QC stating on twitter that he has clubbed to death a fox rather than calling for help to free it from netting in his garden.

Based on that earlier tweet I’m now thinking that this never happened. It’s just some weird fantasy he has in his head.

I'm starting to think the same thing. Playing out sexual fantasies online is never a good move, especially for somebody in the public eye. It's very concerning because if it is a sexual fantasy about violence whilst dressed in women's clothes I'd be very concerned about what this could lead to in the future.

Looks like he makes a habit of killing foxes with a baseball bat while dressed in his wife's kimono.

You'd think he would have bought his very own dressing gown by now.

PrimalLass · 26/12/2019 20:26

The "ladies" of Mumsnet have spied a chance to have a go at a posh man and are having a field day. The circumstances are irrelevant. This is just an orgy of man hating and reverse snobbery. Not a good look.

No it's because he's a misogynistic asshole whom some of us already have experience with and this just proves what we already thought.

siring1 · 26/12/2019 20:29

No just a bunch of bitter women.
Goodnight.

halocompanach · 26/12/2019 20:31

This is just an orgy of man hating and reverse snobbery. Not a good look.

It's an objection to the cruel way in which he has, apparently, killed a fox with a baseball bat at least for the second time.

I agreed with his view of Brexit but this is beyond the pale and he has dropped massively in my view as a result of this claimed incident.

As for not being a good look, it's a darn sight better than an ageing man in a green kimono that is, by his own admission, too small. Thank god he hasn't shared selfies.

@Cryingoverspilttea

Also the irony of most on this thread who probably eat meat hmm what do you think they do to livestock in abbatoirs? Sing them to death with bad lullabies? Christ almighty.

No I don't. Been veggie since 2005. So do one with your fucking assumptions.

People like you make me sick.

chomalungma · 26/12/2019 20:33

What do his other views have to do with how he dealt with this fox?

MistyCloud · 26/12/2019 20:36

@koshkat

He does not say that the fox was suffering. Merely that he felt the need to bash its brains in dressed in a fucking kimono. He thought it was funny. He boasted on twitter. He has always been a fucking wanker but this is a whole other step.

This. In spades. Horrible, horrible man. And it's so depressing that people like him exist, and even worse, that a few posters on here are on his side. Sad that such uncaring, cold, sadistic, uncaring people actually exist.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 26/12/2019 20:36

No. I just hate cruel bastards, no matter their background. Signed, rather well to do woman.

The circumstances are irrelevant. This is just an orgy of man hating and reverse snobbery.

Fox accidentally hit by car = excusable
Fox deliberately trapped and beaten to death. = nasty bastard, regardless of sex.

Not a good look.

Women should worry about how they look and be nice. Nah! Fuck off mate.

Jillyhilly · 26/12/2019 20:37

I'd be very concerned about what this could lead to in the future.

Yes, especially given his views on protecting women and female spaces.

MistyCloud · 26/12/2019 20:38

'Man hating' and 'reverse snobbery.'

'You Ladies of Mumsnet!'

LOL what a load of shit. Obviously written by a MAN. Grin

Don't like uz laydeeez having an opinion of our own eh?

MistyCloud · 26/12/2019 20:40

LADIES PLEASE

Be nice to the BIG IMPORTANT MAN! Hmm

We need to be ladylike and demure and do what we're told. Let the BIG MEN take charge and teach us to be 'nice.'

And make sure we look pwitty.

Thelnebriati · 26/12/2019 20:42

Not a good look? At least I'm not battering wildlife while dressed in my partners tiny grundies 🤣

Netting so loose an animal can become tangled does not count as a fence to keep out foxes, cats or dogs. Unless the animal was too badly injured to survive being released, what he did was illegal.

Yeah, this crossed my mind too.
I am half expecting him to admit it in a day or two.

halocompanach · 26/12/2019 20:47

Be nice to the BIG IMPORTANT MAN! hmm

Oh silly little me and my lady brain, clearly I am forgetting my place Hmm

Thank goodness that man came on to remind us all of what we should be doing Biscuit

Granted this may have happened at his country house - it may equally have been in London. We don’t know. But even in the country I’d imagine gauntlets are somewhat niche
He himself says hes in central London, he says he hit it with a baseball bat. I doubt he knows how to despatch an animal with one blow. I've done mixi rabbits, I've always tried really bloody hard but it's always been two blows. And I've cried because I don't want to kill animals ever. That's not my job, I hate it, and I'm not good at it.
I dont have gauntlets either but i do have proper gardening gloves which i would use if needed.

WitchenKitch · 26/12/2019 21:10

Posh? Jolyon Maugham posh?
laughs in landed gentry

PrimalLass · 26/12/2019 21:14

What do his other views have to do with how he dealt with this fox?

Women's instinct that he's not a good un.

Thelnebriati · 26/12/2019 21:18

WitchenKitch what is this years laugh based on?

WhoWants2Know · 26/12/2019 21:19

If he had said that he had to shoot it, then I wouldn't give it much thought.

The fact that he has a gun and didn't feel that he could use it in London kind of makes me question whether he should really have it. You either learn how to shoot things properly and safely or you have no business with a gun.

Jonb6 · 26/12/2019 21:20

@MistyCloud presumably you mean you are vegan, because obviously eating dairy products directly leads to the death of animals, or do you think they all those dairy cows die of old age?

KareyHunt · 26/12/2019 21:21

Blimey, he's gone from being a vile misogynist to a cute-furry-animal murderer to a grim exhibitionist pervert in the course of an evening Grin

meow1989 · 26/12/2019 21:25

The actual killing is awful, the method seems even worse. How many blows does it take over how long to kill a fox who was presumably struggling and moving with a baseball bat? I imagine it isnt a quick process. Barbaric.

And what on earth was he thinking posting about it online?! What an odd attention seeking brag. Hope he's prosecuted accordingly.

SmileEachDay · 26/12/2019 21:26

What do his other views have to do with how he dealt with this fox?

Because whilst he doesn’t want a literal fox in an actual henhouse he thinks women should invite the metaphorical fox into their actual spaces.
