I’m feeling sad as I’ve read So many posts from people saying they’re disappointed, or DH’s haven’t bothered etc and they’re having a shit time.
Have you received everything you asked for ?

DH has been very good this year and more festive than ever knowing we have a little one the size of a poppy seed inside me currently ! I think that’s helped lol
DH is doing all the cooking as I can’t bare the smell but I’m going to try my best .
I’ve been asking for 6 years for cow girl boots (something i have always wanted), but still awaiting those 🤣 but other than that I’m happy and hope you are too!

I have no presents at all.

Not has he.

Perfect!

Just us, the dog, an early walk and some good food, crap telly and no hassles.

Bliss

Soubriquet · 25/12/2019 11:17

I’m happy.

I have nothing! He got nothing!

But we are both happy as our kids got what they wanted. We are tight for money so agreed to buy kids only

festivefrustration · 25/12/2019 11:18

We didn’t bother this year.

Makes life soooooo much easier!!!

90schic · 25/12/2019 11:18

Same, we didn’t buy gifts this year. We have a new baby so we spoilt him instead Grin

ForFussCake · 25/12/2019 11:19

My DH got me a whiskey decanter shaped like a globe. I absolutely love it, he knows me so well!
He’s been helping the kids with their pressies, including applying make up, while I sort the dinner!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day 🙂

Strugglingtodomybest · 25/12/2019 11:19

I'm happy, if a little amazed that he still doesn't know what size my feet are, but that's ok, he can exchange the slippers.

itsboiledeggsagain · 25/12/2019 11:20

Same. I bought him some beer and us both some fudge.
Happy days.

mrsbyers · 25/12/2019 11:20

Yes I’m delighted , but I did make a list ! Few little surprises which are the best bit including a jigsaw of me and the woof when he was a little puppy

Pascha · 25/12/2019 11:23

We also spent a grand total of zero on presents for each other. It's wonderful. No expectations and no stress. Everyone's happy and the day really is about being with the ones we love and not extraneous crap.

Absolutely perfect Crown Smile

DeathByPuppy · 25/12/2019 11:24

Yes but we gave each other lists beforehand to avoid any upsets! We also each bought little extras that weren’t on the list, just tiny stocking filler type things.

FrenchyQ · 25/12/2019 11:24

I'm very happy with my gifts... I asked for a dashcam and tickets to see aha in concert... I got both.
I also got a £250 voucher for beauty treatments in John Lewis, which was a total surprise.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 25/12/2019 11:25

DH got me a picture for above the mantle piece in our newly redecorated living room. It's of the Hogwarts Express Xmas Grin. We'd run out of money to buy it when we finished the room off earlier in the year so I love it now.

I haven't got him a big present as he took so long umming and ahhing over what he wanted it was too late! He wants something for his model railway (we are both very big saddos!) so I would need to know exactly which coaches would be pulled by these particular engines on this branch line in 1957 to buy them myself, and there are some lines that I refuse to cross!

AliceAbsolum · 25/12/2019 11:25

Gross

Glovesick · 25/12/2019 11:26

One upside of being divorced is not having the DH present issues!

My DD (6) bought me a beautiful purse, organised and chosen herself (with help from family friends who she asked to take her shopping). It is the loveliest present ever. I am so happy.

Thesearmsofmine · 25/12/2019 11:26

I am loving these replies. We also didn’t buy each other anything and I am happy with that.

MoominKitty · 25/12/2019 11:27

We didn't do gifts this year, our first was due the 20th Dec, still stubbornly no sign of him yet!!!, so we had lots to spend out so skipped gifts.

We'll have a nice big roast lunch and watch films whilst awaiting signs of little man haha.

Merry Christmas everyone ☺

foxychox · 25/12/2019 11:27

We spent the present money on a mattress for us both, best present ever!

Bluewavescrashing · 25/12/2019 11:29

My DH and I have bought each other a minibreak to Prague (flights and hotel) for the spring. More than happy with that!

motortroll · 25/12/2019 11:29

My dh got what I told him to lol! Doc martens, yoga cushion and thermos flask.

He also bought chocolate and gin. Perfect!

mbosnz · 25/12/2019 11:29

We have opened the santa sacks, not those under the tree. I was so spoilt! He's wonderful at noticing things as we mooch along over time, and either managing to discreetly snaffle it then, or go back later.

He loved the things I got him, and the girls loved theirs as well, which for me is far more important.

Jollitwiglet · 25/12/2019 11:29

I received my little gift that I asked for. Husband started preparing the food last night and stayed home playing games with the toddler this morning so I could take the dog for a nice long relaxed walk.

He has just started cooking brunch as I didn't have breakfast and not having dinner until later, and as im breastfeeding I'm really hungry. And after I've eaten that I'm going to take the toddler and the baby up to bed for us all to have a nap while husband clears up and starts sorting dinner for later. And after that I'll have a nice hot both while he entertains the children.

Couldn't be happier

FudgeBrownie2019 · 25/12/2019 11:30

He bought me something I'd been looking at forever but always thinking it was too much. I am madly in love with it.

He's not overly romantic or showy and neither of us goes crazy for Christmas, but every so often he does something gorgeous and blows me away with his lovely ways.

Sweetbabycheezits · 25/12/2019 11:31

No gifts between me and DH this year; the kids wanted some big ticket gifts, and I just packed in work to start my own company. He very sweetly told me yesterday that he felt really guilty not having anything for me, so I appreciated the thought! We'll save the money and do something nice together sometime in the new year.

GuyFawkesDay · 25/12/2019 11:31

Yep! I have some PJ's and a voucher for a shop I like. He has his favourite aftershave.

That's really enough.

Arrowfanatic · 25/12/2019 11:32

DH doesnt usually get me anything, and i only usually get him little bits but this year we had more money.

He bought me the most amazing pair of fur lined Doc Martin boots and they're just awesome!!
