GaaaaarlicBread · 25/12/2019 11:15

I’m feeling sad as I’ve read So many posts from people saying they’re disappointed, or DH’s haven’t bothered etc and they’re having a shit time.
Have you received everything you asked for ?

DH has been very good this year and more festive than ever knowing we have a little one the size of a poppy seed inside me currently ! I think that’s helped lol
DH is doing all the cooking as I can’t bare the smell but I’m going to try my best .
I’ve been asking for 6 years for cow girl boots (something i have always wanted), but still awaiting those 🤣 but other than that I’m happy and hope you are too!

I got some bose headphones, a kanken backpack, a cuddly pusheen, a vegan cook book, graphic novel of the show GLOW, some ear muffs (because I always moan that my ears are cold when we have to walk anywhere) and little set of Sylvanian Families - Marshmallow Mouse Triplets (soo cute, have started a bit of a sylvanians collection).

FGSJoanWhatsWrongWithYou · 25/12/2019 12:35

Books. All ones I will love. Chosen with careful consideration of what I would like. Not a big spend. I am very happy.

Icanflyhigh · 25/12/2019 12:37

I've been thoroughly spoiled today. It's my birthday too and DP has gone all out to make sure he'd got it all covered!
No complaints from me at all x

PlumsGalore · 25/12/2019 12:41

I didn’t want anything other than to try some Stinky Bishop cheese, my only wish item.

DH got me the most amazing hamper full of exotic cheeses, three fancy wines, Chutney, posh crisps and fancy crackers and pate. I’m delighted, and it also has a massive piece of stinky Bishop in it. I bloody hope I like it 😂

Hoppinggreen · 25/12/2019 12:47

I’m very happy.
I got 2 perfect presents instead of a pile of rubbish. The kids are absolutely delighted with their presents too, which also makes me very happy
We are going on holiday day tomorrow and the dc have no idea so I’m really looking forward to telling them in the morning.

MabelMoo23 · 25/12/2019 12:47

I went shopping ages ago with my husband and tried on a pair of Jimmy Choo trainers, ended up loving them but was only trying on for fun

They were sat under the tree this morning so I’m very very lucky to have received such a fabulous present but also that my husband remembered and thought to give them as a gift

kittykatkitty · 25/12/2019 12:47

I got a Dyson hairdryer
Xbox
Perfume
Dressing gown
Trainers
Clinique stuff
Silk pillowcase
Nail varnish
I'm over the moon with that lot

PhoneLock · 25/12/2019 12:50

My DH bought me a scented candle so, after running up and down the stairs screaming and shouting for a bit, I left the cheating bastard.

Mrshue · 25/12/2019 12:50

I’m really lucky. My dh is incredibly good at presents. We weren’t meant to be getting each other anything. But he got me the new Apple air pods pro and a new Apple Watch. I got him some cashmere stuff for work. Which he’s loves.

DeeCeeCherry · 25/12/2019 12:53

Me & DP don't buy each other big gifts, just something small & thoughtful. He does all the cooking on Christmas Day & is next door doing the finishing touches now. I'm happy.

Wannabegreenfingers · 25/12/2019 12:53

I'm happy got Chelsea boots (asked for) and a monika vinador necklace to complete a set I have.

StarEclipse · 25/12/2019 12:55

I got DH a coffee machine, he is delighted!

I got a coat, very happy!

CluelessNewMama · 25/12/2019 12:55

Nice to hear from some people who are actually happy with their gifts!

DH bought me some beautiful white company PJs, which he chose with his Dad. Men are fully capable of buying nice gifts so it’s a shame to hear of so many thoughtless ones.

BillHadersNewWife · 25/12/2019 12:57

Sort of! He's ordered me some silver earrings from a local jeweller...each pair has to be handmade to order and as he only got to her on Friday, they're definitely not ready yet. But I am pleased because he remembered I loved her things when we saw them at a local gallery.

I've got a picture of them!

M3lon · 25/12/2019 12:59

I got an alto recorder, some piano music and a chocolate orange. I'm very happy.

GaaaaarlicBread · 25/12/2019 13:00

@MrsDilligaf I really hope everything is ok 💕🌻
@AliasGrape What a wonderful time for you both !! Many happy returns to you and for a healthy happy pregnancy xx

Yes, we only brought stocking filler bits this year (chocolate, chutney etc) as we agreed it's pointless buying a load of stuff for the sake of it. We have a 2 year old, and I am about to pop with no. 2! Everything was for my son under the tree which was fine with both of us Smile Merry Christmas

EstuaryBird · 25/12/2019 13:03

Mine usually buys me a jacket, I have a lot of jackets so I asked him not to get me another this year. So this year I have a Breville sandwich toaster and a DeLonghi machine that makes coffee from those little pots.
I wasn’t totally delighted as I don’t really drink coffee (but as he said it does make other stuff) and we have a tiny kitchen. But I’m always pleased that he’s gone out and got something and I know he does it with a good heart.

TakeMeToYourLiar · 25/12/2019 13:04

I didn't ask for anything, 3 lovely thoughtful surprises. I'm very happy

RealMermaid · 25/12/2019 13:05

I'm super happy! DH is a real sweetie. I was very hard to buy for this year - normally there would be some nice piece of clothing/shoes that I want for my main present, but this year I'm 8 months pregnant and my feet have swollen so there's no chance of any of that! He said he thought of getting me a spa day but obviously we don't know when baby will turn up or when I'll be ready to leave him for that long, so instead DH has bought me lots of lovely bits for relaxing at home which is super cute :) he got his favourite aftershave, PJs for lazing around in when baby is here, a book and some snack treats that he can actually eat as he's gluten intolerant.

Treesinthewind · 25/12/2019 13:06

My son got me a small red toy car (for me to share with him!)

MsAwesomeDragon · 25/12/2019 13:08

I've got some earphones, chocolate and an IOU for a coat but I have to choose it myself in the sales.

That's fine because dh has got socks, beer and odour eaters! As well as the IOU for boots he has to choose for himself in the sales, lol.

Dd2 did say this morning she's very glad we don't fill her stocking, because we'd just put boring rubbish in there and Santa does a much better job!

IratusCats · 25/12/2019 13:12

Yes, there was a handbag I'd been admiring since the beginning of the year. Was going to buy it as a present to myself next year, dh bought it for me. I'm exceptionally happy Grin

GuyFawkesDay · 25/12/2019 13:12

We just had our garden landscaped so our £££ is going on furniture and a fire pit and plants for us to enjoy. So token gifts and I'm happy.

I was made a gorgeous brunch with buck fizz. He's upstairs with a book from my sister having a pre lunch relax.

It's lovely!!
