To knock on the door and demand my package

I sold my house back in Feb.

Ordered much lusted after coat online yesterday - imagine my panic when I realised that I hadn’t updated by address. Anyway, new coat has been delivered to and signed for at old address according to Hermes tracker.

ABIU to knock on the door and ask for my package?

For context, buyers proved to be very unreasonable & difficult people during sale.

Can’t believe I would be so stupid.

And obviously contact the police and report the theft. The tracking information is good evidence.

What theft ?

I doubt we'll see the OP back on this thread after it didn't really go their way. The TL;DR is the OP fucked up. Rather than own that fuckup, the OP then invents all sorts of irrelevant fripperies to justify why the world should work the way they say they do.

I am reminded of the fact that a lot of people who ever ran into the back of someone have a litany of increasingly incredible excuses why it's not their fault. I guess Christmas is a time for fairy stories though ?

Just because the parcel was addressed to the house, it doesn’t mean the owners can refuse to hand it over to the intended recipient. If they do, they intended to permanently deprive the owner of their property....which is theft

I have a passing familiarity with English and Welsh law, which is why I asked, just to confirm my impression you do not.

Now it's confirmed, I'm going to watch some paint dry.

Why on here people have to 'demand' anything is beyond me. But be reasonable if they say they never signed for it, the amount of parcels that Amazon put down as handed to resident and signed for weren't, they were shoved behind my bin, and one even IN recycle bin! Ask politely, honestly, manners don;t cost anything.

Aww, cute. Your life does sound pathetic enough.

I would say feel free to explain why I’m wrong, but then again I don’t particularly care about you nor your ““passing familiarity.”” As you were.

🙄

TheBigFatMermaid · 26/12/2019 21:42

Did you go and ask for it? What was the response?
