To knock on the door and demand my package

The2Ateam · 23/12/2019 18:21

I sold my house back in Feb.

Ordered much lusted after coat online yesterday - imagine my panic when I realised that I hadn’t updated by address. Anyway, new coat has been delivered to and signed for at old address according to Hermes tracker.

ABIU to knock on the door and ask for my package?

For context, buyers proved to be very unreasonable & difficult people during sale.

Can’t believe I would be so stupid.

OP posts:
HungryForSnacks · 23/12/2019 23:52

I DEMAND to see a pic of this coat!!

PepePig · 23/12/2019 23:55

This thread is a geg.

NoFucksImAQueen · 24/12/2019 00:01

Well judging from your attitude op I dont think it was the buyers that were a pain in the ass Hmm

showmewhatyougot · 24/12/2019 06:43

What a delight! WinkXmas Biscuit

Yes it was obviously the buyers that were difficult!

FFS Mumsnet you unfunny bitches!!

Luckingfovely · 24/12/2019 08:35

Oh this thread Grin

Don't worry OP, we know you're not for real - since nobody could be that self-absorbed - but you've given us all a good laugh Wink

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/12/2019 09:06

@ilovesooty you just made my spit beer out laughing

Escalating from spitting tea to spitting beer and unable to string a sentence together. This place is going to the dogs. Wink

Thanks for that carefully thought out response op. Shit in shit out an’ all that!

ElfAndSafeKey · 24/12/2019 09:18

Just knock and explain.
If they are a couple, either one of them probably signed without looking thinking it was for the other one.

Modernhistorybuff · 24/12/2019 09:30

I did this two weeks ago. But we moved three years ago! I hadn't used this particular website since and it g had saved the old address. I was a bit nervous to be honest as the couple were quite tricky during the sale (our estate agents said it too and we were lovely as desperate to sell) but it was fine. I just apologised and they just handed it over. 10 second interaction.

Cohle · 24/12/2019 09:38

"How am I being agressive?"

...

"Wow, what a bunch of unfunny bitches most of you on this thread are."

JaJoJe · 24/12/2019 12:33

it may have been delivered to their address but it will be in your name right?

so its legally yours not a 'gift', same way its illegal to open mail thats been delivered to your address in someone else's name. There nothing to indicate they will be unreasonable and I imagine its an inconvenience for them so I would go get it ASAP and be thankful not demanding.

Esspee · 24/12/2019 17:40

Well.......did you get the coat OP?

mylifestory · 24/12/2019 17:40

Go get yr parcel, get off the net and get a life!

NoBlueXmasLightsAllowed · 24/12/2019 17:47

I truly love it when people can't see the way they behave.

Rtruth · 24/12/2019 17:50

Why demand, just ask.

Anger issues much???

Orcacrazy · 24/12/2019 17:53

With all the negative comments about Hermes drivers there is no wonder they don’t care !! Most are ordinary mums and dads trying to make ends meet maybe if you were all a bit nicer they might respond in kind !! 55p-75p per parcel delivered and signed for work out how many you need to deliver to get a decent amount of cash rant over
Yes you should go and get your parcel and Hermes will help if they are denying signing for it .

Shell4429 · 24/12/2019 17:55

I kind of agree with the OP. I don’t understand why people on Mumsnet are so judgemental and think it’s okay to tell people to grow up. If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything. Kindness seems to be in short supply. It’s Christmas, goodwill and all that.

LolaDarkdestroyer · 24/12/2019 18:02

Well tbh they shouldn't have signed for it in the first place? And told the driver you don't live there anymore.....but it's your own fault for not changing address. I had a message off a friend of the old tenant of my house saying a parcel was being delivered she'd "forgot" to update address..fine I took it and she collected it. Said she'd changed address only I kept getting bill after bill from the company so clearly she hadn't and was using my address, and running up a credit debt. 2 more parcels turned up didn't here anything for weeks so thought fuck it and opened them and kept them.

diddl · 24/12/2019 18:04

So what would be the legal thing here?

Is it Op's because there's payment in her name?

Presumably it's addressed to her so the recipients shouldn't open it.

Or have accepted it if they had seen her name?

SunshineCake · 24/12/2019 18:12

I think it should be the plan that when a poster is rude and aggressive everyone stops replying and / or offering help.

Karenisbaren · 24/12/2019 18:13

Actually I did not like the coat so I passed it onto the charity shop.

TheReluctantCountess · 24/12/2019 18:15

Did you get the coat?

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/12/2019 18:46

Orca - agreed. I love my Hermes delivery people. They’re great.

greenlavender · 24/12/2019 18:51

@windycuntryside - exactly what I thought

GiveHerHellFromUs · 24/12/2019 18:53

Well tbh they shouldn't have signed for it in the first place? And told the driver you don't live there anymore

A lot of drivers don't tell you who the parcel is for and there's no reason the person at the address would check, especially at this time of year when people are receiving multiple presents daily

OneForMeToo · 24/12/2019 18:56

With Hermes they just shove the parcel at me. I never sign or know who it’s for. When it’s mine my tracking always says I’ve signed for it though Grin
