To ask for a way to irritate woman parking in my spot?

Solasshole · 21/12/2019 18:18

Background, I live in a flat above a shop. My flat has it's own parking spot that I pay for. Despite this a entitled prick of a woman lady keeps parking in my spot. She has been told many times not to, but continues to do so. She understands it is private parking but doesn't care and says "I'm just leaving" or "I wont be long"

So, help me think if a suitably irritating thing I can do to her next time it happens? Nothing illegal obviously. Perhaps upending a nearby recycling bin all over her car

What can I do to teach her a lesson seeing as she clearly gives no fucks about what shes doing Wink

(Cant be bothered with putting up a penguin bollard, also cant block her in as it would mean I would be blocking a road to do so. Just something that would annoy her...)

OP posts:

Pritt stick a note to the windscreen and put Vegetable oil on her wipers. She wont do it twice. Grin

theresthepurpleline · 21/12/2019 20:21

vaseline on the car door handles. Takes ages to get rid of.

bornonasunday · 21/12/2019 20:22

I believe attaching a large note to her windscreen with Vaseline can be a tad annoying....
That’s only if you have nothing else more sticky to use.....

DonutMan · 21/12/2019 20:23

Problem is that anything you do to her car you risk getting back in return. It's a pain but I think you need a bollard or some manner of enforcement. Or maybe speak to the shop if they're nice (although they mightn't want lose a customer).

sunshinesupermum · 21/12/2019 20:23

As pp said Lockable bollard.

LadyHofH · 21/12/2019 20:24

Grin at some of these.

I had the same problem with the space I rent, OP. I bought a bollard. It hasn't happened since.

81Byerley · 21/12/2019 20:30

Well, you could write a notice telling her you pay for that space and you have asked her on numerous occasions not to park there. Of course the weather has been very windy lately, and you don't want the note to blow away, so you'd better put a blob of Vaseline on the back of the note, so it sticks well. Don't be afraid to move it around a bit to make sure it's in the perfect place on the windscreen!

Napmum · 21/12/2019 20:46

Just go in the shop and shout at her every time she does it until she moves. Complain to the shop owner as well. If you're not happy to do that then it's a bollard or the parking fines people. Don't try to be annoying it's petty and most of the suggestions could get you in trouble.

SkateAway · 21/12/2019 20:48

Depending on how long you have, I'd wrap the car in cling film.

PITA to get off if you manage to wrap enough layers round

WhatchaMaCalllit · 21/12/2019 20:52

You have options.
1 - get a sign printed and stick it under the windshield wiper & state that the space is private parking and if there is any further parking by her vehicle there it will be charged.
2 - sprinkle glitter in the air vents so the next time she turns on the heating in the car it goes everywhere inside it!

ChristmassySpice · 21/12/2019 21:00

I know a few neighbours (live right on the sea front) who get wankers people who park across their drives or in private parking spots. They put really sticky stickers on saying 'This space is private' etc. They don't usually repeat.

DowntownAbby · 21/12/2019 21:01

@FlamingoQueen

post on local Facebook pages saying not sure who this car belongs to, but just so you know I’ve bought a clamp and it will be used until official clampers arrive.

Presumably the 'official clampers' will be arriving in a time machine from waaaay back before clamping was outlawed.

BumbleBeee69 · 21/12/2019 21:02

Cant be bothered with putting up a penguin bollard

BE bothered... or stop complaining... she knows you won't do anything, so she literally parks all over you... and you're paying for her to do it...

Longdistance · 21/12/2019 21:03

Some dickehead and his friends decided to litter my private road with their rubbish and park there (love my cctv). I proceeded to smear the mayonnaise all over his windscreen and the fast food bags were under his windscreen wipers.

Windscreen wipers and wing mirrors are prone to break off easily Wink

TreeSwayer · 21/12/2019 21:04

Photo and local Facebook pages. A does anyone know who this woman is and her car? She keeps parking in my designated parking spot and I have asked her countless times to not do it.

Me I am petty and have time, this isn't my idea I read it somewhere online but I would wait for her to get back in her car and follow her, hopefully home.

I would pull up to the dropped kerb of her drive, get out, wait for her to spot me and say ever so calmly

well at least I now know where you live, and drive off.

Honeyroar · 21/12/2019 21:08

Follow her home next time and then park in her drive when you know she’ll be going home?

BeanTownNancy · 21/12/2019 21:13

@GraceQuirrell - actually crying at the thought of her going over a bump and being baffled as to why her car is jingling. Xmas Grin

Dixiechickonhols · 21/12/2019 21:14

Just park across her and don’t rush to move when she asks. Say You won’t be long.

Jaxhog · 21/12/2019 21:16

Put a large sticky note on her windscreen. It doesn't matter what it says. Just something that will take ages to remove, but do no permanent damage. She will stop.

Or just get a penguin bollard.

Jaxhog · 21/12/2019 21:18

Photo and local Facebook pages.

This doesn't work. We have a major pavement parking problem in our town and several people have done this. The drivers just don't care.

VivaLeBeaver · 21/12/2019 21:21

Clamping is illegal now I think.

Dog turd on the roof, every time.....

wellthatwasthat · 21/12/2019 21:28

Marmite under the door handle?

LikeGlitterandGold · 21/12/2019 21:30

Do you know any graffiti artists who might like to graffiti a certain illegally parked car?

eternallybaffled · 21/12/2019 21:50

Chuck a load of chips on the roof of the car in the hope a flock of gulls descend ☺️

mrssoap · 21/12/2019 22:07

I used to have this problem. So infuriating. I blocked them in so they had to come and knock my door to get their car out. He didn't park there again 😆
