Workhouses or the death penalty? I can see the People's Government deciding that either or both would be a good way to further entrench their power...

OP posts:
MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 13/12/2019 19:31

Both hopefully.

Justcallmebebes · 13/12/2019 19:34

Well personally, I won't rest until 5 year olds are earning their keep down mines or sweeping chimneys

CrazySpanielLover · 13/12/2019 19:35

OMG this is just pure entertainment.
Anyone would think the Brits had voted in Hitler ior Assad, not someone whose mayorship made London BOOM and he wants to do similar for the whole of Britain.

Jesus, let's see how he pans out. He's only been OM for over 100 dats and spent all of that in deadlock.

JacquesHammer · 13/12/2019 19:36

Hunting. Good one, it's been a while so the ban

Foxes or benefit claimants?

Well the latter is already a thing right?

The former, my MP intends on raising as a matter of urgency.

Wineislifex · 13/12/2019 19:48

Hopefully the death penalty!
Workhouses no, but maybe people on benefits can do something productive to earn their money, litter pick etc
Labour socialists made it too easy to do nothing for too long in this county and it’s about time things change
(Fully aware this is another ridiculous labour scaremongering post but I thought I would give it a bite, just like OP wanted 🤣)

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 13/12/2019 19:49

Death penalty. It'll be strictly reserved for serious offences, such as murder, armed robbery and stealing bread.

Justasconfusedwithnumber2 · 13/12/2019 19:53

Agree with previous posters I am afraid, I think you need a lay down and a few deep breaths. The vote is done (again) democracy rules (again) stirring up more eye rolling and finger pointing doesn't really get us anywhere.

poseysbobblehat · 13/12/2019 19:54

Don't forget rationing !

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 13/12/2019 20:00

Reintroduction of penal transportation. They do keep saying "Australian points-based system", after all.

I do wonder if Rees-Mogg is aware that Australia is an independent country now, and that they can't just send the undesirables to Botany Bay.

ConverseAndGlitter · 13/12/2019 20:01

How about bringing in public stocks for people who make ridiculous posts?

I can see a market for it.

HoHoHoik · 13/12/2019 20:01

National Service could be due for a comeback.

Rickets.

White dog poo.

Corporal punishment in schools.

And 99's will once again cost 99p.

BeeFarseer · 13/12/2019 20:03

We won't bring back the death penalty, it directly contravenes the European Convention on Human Rights, which we are signed up to. Don't let the 'European' part fool you either because it has nothing to do with Brexit.

I voted Labour by the way. I'm very, very angry about the election result but you are being ridiculous.

HoHoHoik · 13/12/2019 20:03

Nanny isn't up to that page of the Encyclopedia Britannica yet during their bedtime reading. As far as he is aware they still send boatloads of Poms every week.

Yes yes, aren't "the People" terrible and stupid.

Go on let it flow through you, the mask slipped on this attitude from momentum campaigners some time ago, and this is why the core Labour vote helped destroy them.

Radicalradiator · 13/12/2019 20:05

@CrazySpanielLover Boris did not make London ‘boom’ unfortunately. That myth he peddled has been thoroughly debunked. He just did...not much at all

ChristmasSpirtsOnTheRocksPleas · 13/12/2019 20:07

@HoHoHoik actually I think it’ll be peasants

*not a typo

peaceanddove · 13/12/2019 20:15

Look, you do realise that this sort of rabid, blinkered, fanatical attitude is precisely why Boris wiped the floor with Corbyn?

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 13/12/2019 20:16

chomalungma

By Jove, I think you've got it! I need to put money on that.

chomalungma · 13/12/2019 20:20

12 bob? A shilling?

SilverySurfer · 13/12/2019 20:27

chomalungma I still use pounds and ounces so look forward to that.

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 13/12/2019 20:30

A pound! Nah, we're safe from reversing decimalisation of currency. That would cause people visible daily inconvenience straight away.

I saw someone on MN assuming there were ten pounds in a stone in the last week, so a reintroduction of imperial measures is sure to be a right laugh.

Hirsutefirs · 13/12/2019 20:32

“I saw someone on MN assuming there were ten pounds in a stone in the last week”

There are ten pounds of water in a gallon, you know.

FrangipaniBlue · 13/12/2019 20:34

DFOD HTH

KenDodd · 13/12/2019 20:34

Well there's this straight out of their manifesto.

After Brexit we also need to look
at the broader aspects of our
constitution: the relationship between
the Government, Parliament and the
courts; the functioning of the Royal
Prerogative; the role of the House
of Lords; and access to justice for
ordinary people.
