If so, how long do you think you will last before your eyelids droop and you nod off?

I reckon I can last until about 3ish.

Going to watch it on Sky in bed after staying up for the exit polls. Love Beth Rigby and they've got John Bercow too. Dont trust the BBC anymore, Laura K couldnt be any more up Johnson's arse if she tried.

Undies1990 · 12/12/2019 17:42

Nope. I've got work tomorrow!

eyeswideshit · 12/12/2019 17:43

I am. Probably flick between BBC and Channel 4. Got lots of snacks to keep me going.

Gonetoget · 12/12/2019 17:44

Can't bear to watch it. Dreading a Tory win - Eurgh

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 12/12/2019 17:44

I am camping on the sofa. Had planned to catch up on my sleep in the morning but just had a call to say the plumber is coming so will need to be up and civilised by 9 o'clock.

SheOfManyNames · 12/12/2019 17:53

I'll tune in at 10 for exit polls.
Then I will probably stay up till around 12-1 to see which way the wind is blowing.

Figmentofmyimagination · 12/12/2019 17:55

I expect my DH will have the bedside radio on radio 4 all night grrrr. Last time he listened until our constituency was finally declared at 4am when his candidate of choice lost his seat.

Figmentofmyimagination · 12/12/2019 17:57

Talking of exit polls - remember Paddy Ashdown promising to eat his hat if the exit poll was correct. Wonder if there will be real surprises tonight.

WhatHaveIFound · 12/12/2019 17:57

I won’t be but dh will. Luckily his morning work has already been cancelled. Even if he falls asleep the TV will be on in the bedroom all night.

BaolFan · 12/12/2019 17:58

Yes. I normally stay awake until about 1am, then spend the next few hours dozing on the sofa and drifting in and out of the results until first past the post is called.

thehorseandhisboy · 12/12/2019 17:59

Depends on the exit poll. I was out and feeling utterly depressed in 2017 until DH texted with the exit poll results.

Ended up staying up all night, delighted that there hadn't been a magic vote tree for May.

VanyaHargreeves · 12/12/2019 18:00

I was thinking I might but I have things I need to do tomorrow

Very conflicted Confused

MillieMoodle · 12/12/2019 18:02

Will probably stay up till 12ish but got work tomorrow and need to be able to concentrate as got a busy day. Will check my phone when I wake up in the night though and if we had a TV in the bedroom would keep it on overnight.

Redcliff · 12/12/2019 18:02

Was just talking about this with DH - we might stay up for the first bit but can't see us staying up all night.

colouringinpro · 12/12/2019 18:05

thanks! Just been on Twitter looking at lots of lovely photos of queues of young people at voting stations.

It's the hope that kills you.

AlunWynsKnee · 12/12/2019 18:05

Depends on the exit poll but I will probably stay up for some of it.

colouringinpro · 12/12/2019 18:05

How accurate have the exit polls been in the past?

aLilNonnyMouse · 12/12/2019 18:08

I've stayed up for every election of my adult life so far, I love watching the results come in. My only commitment tomorrow is a concert at 6pm so I can sleep before that.

MrOnionsBumperRoller · 12/12/2019 18:09

@twinguineapigs FlowersHalo

1Morewineplease · 12/12/2019 18:09

Until it’s a foregone conclusion.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 12/12/2019 18:10

Nope. Working tomorrow.

colouringinpro · 12/12/2019 18:11

so apparently the exit poll has been right in 6 out of the 7 previous elections

DoubleNegativePanda · 12/12/2019 18:12

I wouldn't. I wasted a lot of time in 2016 staying awake and watching our polls in the US, only to fall asleep and wake up at 3am to find out that Trump had won, and then feel gutted and petrified of what the coming four years would look like. Next time around I'll go to sleep blissfully ignorant and not look until after I've had my tea the next morning. Whatever happens will still have happened.

But please god don't let that godawful Cheeto win again. I'm scared for your lot too, this time. Trump has apparently made people think it's acceptable to be a disgusting, misogynistic racist piece of trash, because it's spreading.

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 18:13

I'm not confident about exit polls, people are known to lie which is why I'll be up half the night.

malfoylovespotter · 12/12/2019 18:15

I plan to and have the day off tomorrow.

I may flag.

Considering going to bed at 9 and getting up at 2... hmmm
