If so, how long do you think you will last before your eyelids droop and you nod off?

I reckon I can last until about 3ish.

Because Labour have lost seats

And the seats they have won their vote share is substantially lower

Tories have won strong Labour seats one has always been a labour seat - this was unthinkable before this election

PandancerandRabbitoplh · 13/12/2019 01:58

I'm watching on BBC, always watch election night. Quite a swing to Conservatives, and Labour getting quite a battering, down 7 seats out of first 32, with Conservatives up 6 and SNP up 1. Amazing to see seats that have been Labour for donkeys years turn Conservative.

Think it's fairly standard speed for results though where they've changed hands more likely to ask for recounts.

rhubarbcrumbles · 13/12/2019 02:04

I can see that they have lost seats but they still have more than the Conservatives (17-11 at the moment) so it's not the disaster that they seem to be portraying?

PhoneLock · 13/12/2019 02:10

I've just got up and I can't be bothered to waste a day. It won't change the end result.

I'm off to the beach for a swim. Grin

rhubarbcrumbles · 13/12/2019 02:10

Was that really just 18 votes for one of the Putney candidates or did Sky get it wrong? Shock

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 13/12/2019 02:11

rhubarb
The combination of the exit polls, the swing to the Conservatives and several strong Labour seats falling suggests that Labour have done very badly

Time will tell but it looks bad for Labour.

Writersblock2 · 13/12/2019 02:13

Anyone else up? I’m probably good for another hour or so and then I’ll consider turning in. I’ve got snacks and a gently snoring pup so I’m good for now. :)

Fascinating turn of events tonight.

VanyaHargreeves · 13/12/2019 02:14

I'm sitting here waiting for the Jo Swinson result, it might prove to be the only decent drama of the night

PandancerandRabbitoplh · 13/12/2019 02:17

I'm still up though looks inevitable Conservatives have done really well and exit polls looks on course according to BBC. It was funny seeing the Conservative win Blyth Valley and he looked Shock I've actually got the job, do I want it. Grin Not surprising he was shocked when its been Labour since 1950.

Writersblock2 · 13/12/2019 02:19

@VanyaHargreeves what time is that predicted?

@PandancerandRabbitoplh - his face was amazing! He was trying not to cry.

VanyaHargreeves · 13/12/2019 02:22

I wish I knew!

I am caving and will need to hit the hay soon

Writersblock2 · 13/12/2019 02:24

Showing Corbyn now. I don’t like him, and I voted Tory, but I do feel sorry for him.

GruciusMalfoy · 13/12/2019 02:27

East Dunbartonshire declaration should be soon. I can't wait to see this one.

VanyaHargreeves · 13/12/2019 02:27

Brilliant!

VanyaHargreeves · 13/12/2019 02:29

The other thread said 30 minutes about 20 minutes ago.

GruciusMalfoy · 13/12/2019 02:35

I feel like I've made it this far, but it better be fecking soon!

crosstalk · 13/12/2019 02:39

It seems to me the MPs who speak frankly do better. I'm not talking about Boris who hides in fridges and won't agree to an interview with Andrew Neil.

Healthypositivity · 13/12/2019 02:43

Am still up. It's horrible Angry

manicinsomniac · 13/12/2019 02:48

Still here Sad

crosstalk · 13/12/2019 02:51

Andrew Neil as ever is a heroic interviewer. He keeps asking Tories who win in traditional Labour seats what policies their party has in place to help the impoverished and regenerate work. And asks the Labour losers why they lost. Off to bed just while it gets interesting.

Healthypositivity · 13/12/2019 02:53

Can you believe the words that's coming out of Ruth smeeth mouth on sky news!!!!Angry

Healthypositivity · 13/12/2019 02:55

Am going to finish drinking my cup of tea and try and get some sleep. Honestly I am really really sad.

OrangeSlices998 · 13/12/2019 02:57

I feel quite sick and genuinely heartbroken. I cannot wrap my head around it. I live in a liberal London bubble, it would seem.

Healthypositivity · 13/12/2019 03:02

@Orangeslices998 going to pick up a bottle of wine or two in the morning and weep. Am lost for words really. It's terrible.

OrangeSlices998 · 13/12/2019 03:04

Do people really not value the NHS? Schools? Lifting children out of poverty? Am honestly just... speechless. ‘Get Brexit done’ and ‘JC is an anti-Semite’ is all I hear for why people didn’t vote Labour or vote tactically to get the Tories out.
