If so, how long do you think you will last before your eyelids droop and you nod off?

I reckon I can last until about 3ish.

Never gone to bed on election night and don’t intend to start now.

berkshirecat · 12/12/2019 17:15

Yup - I can't wait! We have lots of snacks and wine to keep us going and no commitments until tomorrow. I've stayed up every time since 2010.

mousemousse · 12/12/2019 17:16

I have a newborn so will be checking in on night feeds

titchy · 12/12/2019 17:16

Yep! I love an election - swingometers rule! I'm also planning Christmas shopping tomorrow..... Confused

Nquartz · 12/12/2019 17:17

@Bartlet
I wish no one was an option too Sad

I'll see how long I can stay up but I'm usually asleep by 9.30 so can't imagine it'll be late!

doradoo · 12/12/2019 17:18

Planning on it over here in Germany - how long I last is anyone's guess, the hours difference is not my friend tonight

astralweaks · 12/12/2019 17:18

Yes. Well, until about 4 am.

FrappeLatte · 12/12/2019 17:19

I genuinely don’t understand the point? Confused

Fifthtimelucky · 12/12/2019 17:19

Ooh yes. I love watching all the discussion and the results as they come in. How long I stay up will depend on her it's going, but I always stay up till at least 2am. Now I'm retired I don't have to worry about getting up in the morning which will help.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 12/12/2019 17:19

I've never missed an election night since I was a teen. DH and I always stay up together to toast or commiserate. I've got the cooking sherry ready.

SilverySurfer · 12/12/2019 17:20

BloodyCats
No, why would you?

Well I think most if not all of those who will, are anxious to see their Party win - I know I am. But I'm not saying which party - I was hoping this could be a political party free zone.

No but I did do this in 2010. I was up all night last night with a sick baby, I need some rest.

EvaHarknessRose · 12/12/2019 17:21

I think I might go to bed after exit poll but try to get up at three or four - I have tomorrow off.

IpanemaGallina · 12/12/2019 17:21

Last time I stayed up for an election result it was because I was clubbing all night Grin
However, this one does feel different. So much at stake and so much to lose....
If JRM loses his seat, I will join in the collective cheering.

Fr0g · 12/12/2019 17:22

definitely - not working tomorrow

coastergirl · 12/12/2019 17:22

I'm going to try. I love an election night, although I'm really worried about this one.

KrampusTime · 12/12/2019 17:22

I'm usually sat ready with an open bottle ready to start shouting at the telly for 10pm, but I'm planning to go to bed early tonight
Can't cope with another year going to work hungover, gutted and angry.

Northernsoullover · 12/12/2019 17:23

No way. Me losing out on precious sleep won't change the results. I plan to deactivate Facebook tomorrow too. I will check this thread in the morning so I know which shower of shite is in power though. That awful Boris or clueless Corbyn

AlexaShutUp · 12/12/2019 17:24

I'd like to, but have slept really badly this week so don't really have the stamina.

BanKittenHeels · 12/12/2019 17:25

I am but I’ve been on nights, so I’m going to able to push through.

rosie1959 · 12/12/2019 17:26

I always stay up plan to get the Christmas wrapping done might as well do something useful at the same time
Usually daylight about four on election days so this will be different and colder !

Nat6999 · 12/12/2019 17:27

I probably will, can't make my mind up between BBC or Sky news to watch it on

Egghead68 · 12/12/2019 17:27

If the exit poll suggests no overall majority then I will go to bed but get up at 3am to watch. Otherwise I’m going to try to put my head in the sand and sleep through till morning.

Taswama · 12/12/2019 17:28

Que sera sera

Parsley65 · 12/12/2019 17:29

I have set the alarm for 2 hours earlier than usual, so will be up at 5 am with a couple of hours to digest the news before my day starts...
