I find Corbyn deeply unsettling

There is something about the man that makes me shudder - the cold detachment of the man.

I really do worry about what would be unleashed if he were elected.

I can cope with much of the sentiment in the Labour manifesto, but not the man. Similar feelings about Mc Donnell, but he seems to manage to pull out some humanity in interviews

He supported the IRA. He got Islington Council to get a nice house for an IRA man a from Ireland nd jumped the long housing queue.

And if undermining a woman's dressing is all you have....well words leave me. Try a policy discussion

I would never undermine a woman's dress sense. But she must have known she had 2 left shoes on. And she should have known that today of all days the media would notice. It makes her look stupid and lacking in self awareness. I don't want the country's national security in the hands of someone like that. I didn't think anyone could be worse than Priti Patel, but I was forgetting about Diane ....

MarshmallowMuggle · 12/12/2019 19:57

This is an interesting poll:

JolieOBrien · 12/12/2019 19:58

Corbyn's song

mynameiswah · 12/12/2019 20:32

Tory bot. Give up.

Medievalist · 12/12/2019 22:02

And if the exit poll is anything to go by JC has cost the Labour Party dearly.

madeyemoodysmum · 12/12/2019 22:05

Corbyn is toast

Poppinjay · 12/12/2019 22:15

Corbyn is toast

So is our welfare state.

So let's hope all those in poverty, sick or disabled are magically motivated by the rapidly growing inequality to better themselves and get wealthy then Hmm

Xenia · 12/12/2019 22:26

All Labour voters need not worry. We Conserv atives have never ever wanted to do away with the welfare state. In fact we protect it better than Labour's left wing proposals that would have ruined this country. The NHS is far safer in Tory hands than those of Corbyn.

if the exit polls are right this a very great day and as I have been predicting the very sensible British people have made the right choice.

DowntownAbby · 12/12/2019 22:29

I agree, @Xenia

Now that the danger of Momentum has been vanquished, the country can move forwards and prosper again.

Poppinjay · 12/12/2019 22:31

I would give such a lot for this to be true Sad

Lifeover · 12/12/2019 22:34

Absolutely agree, there’s something about the man that sets off my primeval red flags. Don’t know what but there’s something that sets off a gut reaction he’s not a man to be trusted (beyond the general wouldn’t trust any of them)

StarbucksSmarterSister · 12/12/2019 22:35

she must have known she had 2 left shoe

It's fake The real photo is on Twitter showing matching shoes.

Mind you talking of dress sense ...

I find Corbyn deeply unsettling
NemophilistRebel · 12/12/2019 22:36

The pound is strengthening by the minute since the results of the exit polls

That gives some positivity that we will have more respect for the European negotiations

It would have been awful with it going labour and the pound crashing

superfandango · 12/12/2019 22:39

The real photo is on Twitter showing matching shoes.

The original photo was first shared by a Labour candidate and retweeted by Abbott... perhaps they then realised the mistake and one of her PAs went to get her the right shoe?

astralweaks · 13/12/2019 00:44

But why did she wear a mismatched pair of loafers in the first place? How the hell could anyone actually do that?
Confused

superfandango · 13/12/2019 04:15

astral I’d wager getting dressed in the dark before a long day of campaigning. It’s extremely unfortunate that it was this particular candidate who did it, considering her recent history of gaffes but it’s not a particularly confidence inspiring look 😕

Yarboosucks · 13/12/2019 04:18

Oh!

I don't love the man but I don't see him in your description either.

JolieOBrien · 13/12/2019 04:49

Well done Boris ... the country saw sense and made sure Corbyn will never be PM

Diane Abbott regained her seat with just under 40,000 votes and a 70% vote share. I think it's fair to say that's a vote of confidence, and her footwear is irrelevant.

No. She represents a Labour stronghold. I doubt very many of the 40k voted for her personally. They just voted Labour.

And no. Her footwear isn't irrelevant. If there is a genuine medical reason which requires her to wear two left shoes (as some have suggested) she ought to have enough intelligence and self-awareness to at least wear two matching left shoes to avoid being ridiculed.

BertrandRussell · 13/12/2019 17:59

I thought the shoes picture was a photoshop?

And the two statements “Diane Abbott got a massive majority because it was a Labour stronghold where people automatically vote for the party not the person” and “Labour lost because Labour didn’t like Corbyn as a person so did not vote for the party” can’t both be true.

I understand Abbott is an excellent constituency MP.

Why?
