There is something about the man that makes me shudder - the cold detachment of the man.

I really do worry about what would be unleashed if he were elected.

I can cope with much of the sentiment in the Labour manifesto, but not the man. Similar feelings about Mc Donnell, but he seems to manage to pull out some humanity in interviews

The Tories willo be best for the country including for teh less well off. Whether the cuontry agrees we will only know tomorrow.

if anyone has not been out to vote yet go now, before you forget and if you are not sure how to vote vote Conservative.

monstiebags · 12/12/2019 18:06

They are politicians, none of them care. To them weight as well be something on the bottom of their shoes - they are all privately educated and entitled. They have no idea what the real world is like and that especially goes for Jezza . I can't really envisage a man of Corbin's credentials being a thinker. He thinks mass immigration will be good for the NHS and really does think that we can borrow and borrow with no consequences. He has absolutely no compassion for people on a decent salary (and I don't mean rich) I just mean people who work hard and get paid ok and coincidentally bear the brunt of the tax bill and whatever wacky policies whoever in power throws at us.He bangs on about the poverty gap - this han't actually changed since the sudden jump it had in the 1980s - we had quite a long stint of labour government since that time - the poverty gap has not changed.

Vote Conservative? Like fuck I would. Xmas Biscuit Xmas Biscuit Xmas Biscuit

lilgreen · 12/12/2019 18:11

Lol

breastfeeding · 12/12/2019 18:13

But it’ll be great if the tories win perhaps they could privatise foodbanks 🙁

ListeningQuietly · 12/12/2019 18:16

He thinks mass immigration will be good for the NHS
1 in 8 NHS staff are immigrants
how do you propose to replace them if the borders are closed ?

BertrandRussell · 12/12/2019 18:26

“ He has absolutely no compassion for people on a decent salary (and I don't mean rich) I just mean people who work hard and get paid ok and coincidentally bear the brunt of the tax bill and whatever wacky policies whoever in power throws at us”

What- people on £80k? Grin

Elbeagle · 12/12/2019 18:38

DH’s salary is in the area you describe monstiebags. Happy for his compassion to be saved for those genuinely in need, even if it costs us a couple of extra quid in tax.

monstiebags · 12/12/2019 18:52

Lots of people get peace prizes - the woman from Myanmar for instance Not really interested in a bunch of luvvies getting together to give each other prizes.

monstiebags · 12/12/2019 18:53

yes but are all immigrants doctors and nurses are are most of them patients? We already have a lot of health tourism taking the mick out of the health service - an open door policy will encourage more

madeyemoodysmum · 12/12/2019 18:54

If you all think only those earning over 80k will end up paying your either very young, deluded or have a short memory.

monstiebags · 12/12/2019 18:54

Glad you have a couple of extra quid to give

TheresWaldo · 12/12/2019 18:58

I lol at the though of the highest paid workers leaving the country to work elsewhere when tax rates are higher in most of Europe. When I moved from UK I was on 25% and went immediately to 50%. I nearly had a fit.

Medievalist · 12/12/2019 19:26

Leaving Corbyn aside, how unsettling is it to think of having a Home Secretary who would appear in public wearing 2 odd left shoes ...?

JolieOBrien · 12/12/2019 19:27

Corbyn is stuck back in the 70s and need to stop being an old hippie.

NemophilistRebel · 12/12/2019 19:28

He creeps me out no end

I think we’d be in a whole heap of trouble if he got in

Why do people keep saying that he’s so great?

JolieOBrien · 12/12/2019 19:30

Also I cannot imagine him and Abbott together ... she wears odd shoes Why ? ... has she been drinking on the train again?

I find Corbyn deeply unsettling

I think his morals are far more admirable than BJ’s.

Monsterinmyshoe · 12/12/2019 19:32

Tory bot alert

Deecaff · 12/12/2019 19:32

OP I agree. Corbyn and McDonnell. I don't like boris but don't find him disturbing in the same way.
The politicians I think are ok seem to leave politics or at least get chucked out of their parties

NemophilistRebel · 12/12/2019 19:34

Yes boris isn’t the best but not creepy like Corbyn

Corbyn is also exceptionally rich and his plans don’t matter to him or his family

He is a walking contradiction

JolieOBrien · 12/12/2019 19:37

@Smilethoyourheartisbreaking

What? I would know if I had odd shoes on would you?

Elbeagle · 12/12/2019 19:40

Glad you have a couple of extra quid to give

Well yeah. We have a household income of over 80k so we can find a couple of quid from somewhere.
