I find Corbyn deeply unsettling

There is something about the man that makes me shudder - the cold detachment of the man.

I really do worry about what would be unleashed if he were elected.

I can cope with much of the sentiment in the Labour manifesto, but not the man. Similar feelings about Mc Donnell, but he seems to manage to pull out some humanity in interviews

“ So why did he chose her?”

Because she is an active campaigner for people with “visible differences”. Why shouldn’t he have chosen her?

madeyemoodysmum · 11/12/2019 14:28

Because I’m sick of boom and bust that goes with labour /Tory cycles

We need to invest but invest wisely

I’m old enough to remember other governments.

hamstersarse · 11/12/2019 14:29

I’m sure they do. They just aren’t the main criteria that inform their voting.

If you mean that they think the way to solve these issues is different from the Corbyn approach, then yes. But to say they are not criteria when voting, then that is incorrect.

hamstersarse · 11/12/2019 14:35

Please admit there is some level of discomfort here - interviewing her in the middle of a GE campaign?

It's not that he shouldn't have chosen her, I have nothing in any way against her, but it stinks of exploiting her situation for his own gains.

I know you know what I mean. It's obvious to anyone, but when it's your guy you let these things go.

I agree that Corbyn sought peace in NI - but only as a consequence of the IRA having prevailed. He wanted the armed struggle to be successful. The idea that he was not a committed supporter of the IRA is ludicrous.

Corbyn Invited two IRA members to parliament two weeks after the Brighton bombing.
Attended Bloody Sunday commemoration with bomber Brendan McKenna.
Attended meeting with Provisional IRA member Raymond McCartney.
Hosted IRA linked Mitchell McLaughlin in parliament.
Spoke alongside IRA terrorist Martina Anderson.
Attended Sinn Fein dinner with IRA bomber Gerry Kelly.
Chaired Irish republican event with IRA bomber Brendan MacFarlane.
Attended Bobby Sands commemoration honouring IRA terrorists.
Stood in minute’s silence for IRA gunmen shot dead by the SAS.
Refused to condemn the IRA in Sky News interview.
Refused to condemn the IRA on Question Time.
Refused to condemn IRA violence in BBC radio interview.
Signed EDM after IRA Poppy massacre massacre blaming Britain for the deaths.
Arrested while protesting in support of Brighton bomber’s co-defendants.
Lobbied government to improve visiting conditions for IRA killers.
Attended Irish republican event calling for armed conflict against Britain.
Hired suspected IRA man Ronan Bennett as a parliamentary assistant.
Hired another aide closely linked to several convicted IRA terrorists.
Heavily involved with IRA sympathising newspaper London Labour Briefing.

The interview was in March 2018. Shortly after she interviewed Theresa May. Might I suggest you stop digging?

EerieSilence · 11/12/2019 15:32

No matter how I don't like Corbyn, the sight of Johnson makes me look for antiemetics.

Again, just to be clear, I am not voting Conservative. I am a very reluctant voter in this election, because I don't really want any of the party options. I will either spoil my vote tomorrow or will vote LibDem because that candidate is the best candidate for my constituency.

I am struck that so many former Labour MPs have come out against Corbyn today. Surely their party loyalty would come first unless there were something seriously wrong?

Love the Nikki Lilly interview. Can't believe anyone would twist it.

lilgreen · 11/12/2019 17:06

Voting Labour. DD at uni paying £9/10k pa for striking professors and no rebates given by university. Time is up.

1066vegan · 11/12/2019 17:27

@BertrandRussell Thanks for sharing the Nikki Lilly interview. It was lovely. My dd is way past the CBBC stage now so I hadn't seen it when it came out.

I hadn't seen Jeremy Corbyn in this kind of one to one situation before. He seemed so relaxed and friendly with Nikki. Out of him and Boris Johnson, I know who I'd like to sit down and have a cup of tea and a chat with.

lilgreen · 11/12/2019 17:52

Enjoyed that Nikki Lilly interview too.

Yarboosucks · 11/12/2019 18:01

The Nikki Lilly video is nice!

This is what the Labour Party stand for. If you're undecided, please watch it. All we have is each other.

ethelfleda · 11/12/2019 21:00

Whalebird that video makes me extremely sad that everything points towards a Tory majority this week. I think maybe the U.K. isn’t ready for Corbyn... and we deserve everything we get as a result for handing the country over to BJ.

Justanotherlurker · 11/12/2019 21:01

If you want a simplistic quick fix and think IDPOL of interviewing a child is some kind of pull then maybe you should look at your critical thinking skills.

I don't want to saddle our situation onto my children and grnadchildren on some pie in the sky 'costed' manifesto. If you do want to play the 'your children' card then you need to have a bit more understanding of why Corbyn's economics haven't been costed.

This kind of unicorn thinking from some on this thread is akin brexiteers, its embarrassing.

SarahMartin · 11/12/2019 21:20

this is why we need to vote boris. conservative deserve to live long and prosper to give the country what we need. A HARD BREXIT!!!!!!

Unironically posts a facebook meme....

Gwlondon · 11/12/2019 21:30

I think he is suppressing his anger. When it comes out he is ...I don’t have a word for it.....like an angry, raging man. There was a short video of him saying “can I finish?” that trended for a while. Different interviews but getting irate.

ListeningQuietly · 11/12/2019 21:35

Gwlondon
Corbyn does not do angry
He does not drink
He barely eats meat
He does not do slaggy offy lunches with journos
no wonder the press hate him

sadly it also means he's not got the temperament to slice and dice Bozo when it it needed

ArseDarkly · 11/12/2019 21:36

Oh my god, he said can I finish? What is wrong with the man! He must be off his raging head!

ArseDarkly · 11/12/2019 21:42

I don't want to saddle our situation onto my children and grnadchildren on some pie in the sky 'costed' manifesto.

And I don't want to saddle my children with an uncosted manifesto, a government that doesn't believe in democracy and a Prime Minister who is a national embarrassment and bent as a nine-pound note.
