I keep hearing people say that they will be worse off if they vote labour. Unless you’re very wealthy it’s simply not the case. This is just an example of what’s happening.

@ibizafun So you are saying the people in the top 1% of earners, after being taxed by labour gov will get the same take home as a shelf stacker at Tesco. Are you for real?

Spinderellacutituponetime · 11/12/2019 17:33

I can not conceive how you can trust the Conservatives more, they are out and out liars. They have lied and been caught out for lying consistently throughout their entire campiagn. Every interview Boris has, he spews out more vile rubbish. The whole Brexit debabcle was built on lies...anyone remember the bus? I mean it's ludicrous.

Ibizafun · 11/12/2019 17:34

Spinderellacutituponetime I don’t think there’ll be much in it by the time JC’s finished with them

Ibizafun · 11/12/2019 17:35

They all lie. ALL of them irrespective of party

Berrylove · 11/12/2019 17:35

@Tessabelle74 that still means you would be earning over 4k a month though which is still a lot of money. It’s not punishment, i can’t thing what monthly expenditure could equal that amount so I can see at least half of that income being disposable. Why on earth would you think because the top earners pay more that the lowest earners receiving benefits should have their benefits cut? They’re not the ones who are able to throw away money.

Let's not forget the illegal suspension of parliamnet, or his promise of the 50,000 new nurses or the promise of 40 new hospitals or the dozen of trade deals he said where waiting after Brexit or the billions of pounds of social care or the offensive commenst about working class men and single mothers...or the police cuts or all the fake news his party have been spewing forth and that's just off the top of my head. So no, not all parties lie like the Conservatives, they just seem to get away with it.

Spinderellacutituponetime · 11/12/2019 17:45

@ibizafun? Honestly? you think a £160K plus income will go down the £17K a year? Bollocks.

ChristmasSpirtsOnTheRocksPleas · 11/12/2019 17:48

We’re not very wealthy. We’re just scraping by. DH owns two businesses. We wouldn’t be able to make ends meet under the manifesto proposals and would have to move abroad where we’d be able to get paid better in proportion to our costs. So we’d definitely be worse off. So would be the people that lost their jobs as a result.

Ibizafun · 11/12/2019 17:49

Let’s put it this way.. none of them will be here long enough to find out and the economy will go tits up before people can say short sighted

ChristmasSpirtsOnTheRocksPleas · 11/12/2019 17:51

@Berrylove there are parts of the country where half of that would go on rent/mortgage payments. If you then gave high commuting costs and need professional childcare to facilitate your job there wouldn’t be much left over.

Spinderellacutituponetime · 11/12/2019 17:52

@ibizafun Quick google of 'lying Boris' comes up with 1,000s of hits, can't actually find much about Corbyn but you are welcome to try.

reginafelangee · 11/12/2019 17:53

Postal vote is already away.

My own personal circumstances had no bearing on my choice of party.

Ibizafun · 11/12/2019 17:56

Do you really think it’s viable Corbyn will deliver long term on the nhs and all that he promises? Seriously? If I did I would be voting labour irrespective of what would benefit my family.

Spinderellacutituponetime · 11/12/2019 18:08

Yes. I do.

fluffyjumper · 11/12/2019 18:10

Yanbu. I'm sick of people trying to guilt trip voters into which party to vote for. We will all vote for who we consider the best.

DowntownAbby · 11/12/2019 18:18

Yes! @fluffyjumper

There has been a huge amount of absolutely vile abuse levelled at anyone not supporting Corbyn, from the Labour supporters on MN.

They should be ashamed.

Spinderellacutituponetime · 11/12/2019 18:22

Thats on you if you feel guilty. Not anyone else. I know who I will vote for, don't feel guilty about it at all. If you has something to feel guilty about. Not my problem.

ajandjjmum · 11/12/2019 18:24

I don't feel guilty - I feel that I've thought it through like an intelligent human being, and made a decision.

I accept others think differently, but don't get my kicks out of bad-mouthing them - here or in real life.

MistyCloud · 11/12/2019 18:40

@12goldstars Wouldn't vote for Labour if you paid me. Not with how they are now. Disgracefully far left/communist/militant, with a dreadful disingenuous leader They're a shambles, and the corbynites are dreadful. Accusing people who don't think like them of being racist, thick bigots who hate the poor.

As has been said, the hate and vitriol from the Corbyn fans towards people who don't like him is awful. And these people claim to be soooo good and tolerant and lovely, but they are far worse than any of the people they berate.

Corbyn is like the fucking pied piper, with all his obsessive followers who have been utterly brainwashed by him, and trying to be woke and soooo tolerant and caring, but hoping that the weather is so shit that all the 'old bigots' don't go out to vote.

They're trippin' if they think a bit of rain and wind and frost is going to stop the over 60s nipping to the polling station. Many of them have been through shit that would make the milennials and generation Z cry into their tofu.

Ibizafun · 11/12/2019 18:49

Well said MistyCloud, a terrorist sympathising anti Semite too. What more could one ask for?

Up till now this has been a very well mannered and even-tempered thread. Funny how @MistyCloud has appeared and started slagging folk off and doing exactly what she is accusing Corbynites of doing...Hmm

McCanne · 11/12/2019 19:08

Whether I personally would be better or worse off has no bearing on my vote, it never has done. Those who are worse off can’t afford to get any more worse off.

Spinderellacutituponetime · 11/12/2019 19:10

I don’t have a problem with the way anyone chooses to vote. I have a problem when people listen to the gutter press and don’t investigate properly themselves. Read the manifestos, look at the candidates voting records. Make an informed decision. Don’t just role put the anti-Semitic, terrorist-sympathising ‘where’s the money tree’ crap over and over because that’s what the Daily Mail has told you to think. Most people have not done any of these things and it shows.
