To think 80% of the people on here are pretty rude & mean

It seems most things I post on here, the responses are just filled with rude, sarcastic people. So are the things I read on other people's responses. If you don't agree with someone or their posts bother you, don't comment just move on 😒

I think people are ‘mumsnet jaded’. They’ve seen the same topic over and over they forget it’s new to the poster.

Some take offence at ridiculous things like an observation their kids don’t look alike...no accounting for folk eh OP.

Some are horrible however another poster does have a point - if you're going to post in AIBU then expect different opinions so if you don't agree people are going to post it.

Most posters are lovely but I do think there’s a small minority of bully types who go beyond saying it like it is and actually get off on putting others down hiding behind the smokescreen of the internet.

I agree with you. Some are just trolls and others are genuinely just mean!

I don't understand why people comment if they are just going to be mean. You can word a disagreement in nice way without being nasty.

I've posted several times and have rarely had a rude response let alone 80%. Maybe have a look at your posting style as being the common denominator if you're consistently encountering this problem?

So you only want people to post if they agree with you? Why bother asking in the first place? It's a forum for discussion, not encouraging each other to get wound up over a throwaway comment in Tesco.

Granted.
Some posters get shot down and they dont deserve it

But some posters are abit "weird" and post weird posts , so they get arsey responses

And some MNing are so lovely and supportive

Its a mix, which is why i keep coming back every day

Even my partner says some nights, "Are there any nut jobs on Mumsnet tonight" 😂

You have read posts by all of the thousands of people on here and 80% of them were all 'mean? Slight exaggeration there I think.

People on here are like people anywhere. Some nasty but most are normal decent people. We can't all agree on everything that's just life. Just blip over the ones who are nasty just for the sake of it because it makes them feel superior, they are not worth your time.
But If you dont want people to ever disagree with you don't post in AIBU post elsewhere. Aibu seems to attract more virulent posters sometimes. Try chat or specific topics.

How original, we have a post just like this at least once a week. Unless you are being forced to remain on MN against your will there's always the little X in the top right hand corner. Moaning that you don't like the responses will achieve precisely zero.

Also sorry to jump on your thread but can anyone explain to me what it means when posters put a 'Xmas Biscuit' ? I'm guessing it's negative but could be totally wrong?
