To not understand some mnetters obsession with wearing pyjamas

Sure, it's nice on a dark winter's evening to relax in pj's in front of the telly. But I see threads on here where posters can't wait to get in the door after work to put them on, or don't want visitors on Christmas day because they can't stay in their pyjamas etc etc.
What's the big deal about wearing pyjamas? Yes they're comfy but it's not like most modern clothes are tortuous to wear.

LemonPrism I'm the same and I don't have exam! Just issues I think🤔😊
madcatladyforever me too.

Bluntness100 · 03/12/2019 05:54

Blimey, you'd think I said I like to kick small puppies. 🤣

It's supposed to be helpful. Many people are saying they find their bras uncomfortable, all I'm saying is if it's uncomfortable then it's likely because it's the wrong size,

Many people's weight changes over time, and they change their dress size, but continue to wear their old bras. Thinking that's their size, where as your bra size changes just like your dress size.

whatisforteamum · 03/12/2019 07:30

I am a chef so when I get home after a 12 hour day in a uniform and hat I dream of my comfy feminine pjs. Also it is so cold to walk home at 1030 I have several dressing gowns too!!
It is so relaxing to get out of the bath and into pjs.sigh

PrtScn · 03/12/2019 15:18

I don't wear a bra in bed, but can't not wear one when knocking about the house or I'd trip over them 🤣

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 03/12/2019 15:30

I have always worn pjs in the house if I am not going anywhere, starting from when I was a child and would get home from school and put them on. Now I do the same as an adult - as soon as I'm home for the night I have a shower and put my pjs on.

I hate the feel of real clothes. I don't know why but it's something I struggle with - nothing ever feels comfy and I have to buy my clothes two sizes too big or they feel too clingy! PJs are just so comfy in comparison.

Tessabelle74 · 03/12/2019 17:34

I prefer a nighty myself

bpirockin · 03/12/2019 17:45

When I have a mad panic for the loo because I keep getting distracted it's great not to have to worry about buttons/zips etc, that's the main plus of pj's if you ask me :-D

Bozlem80 · 03/12/2019 17:46

As a kid I was never allowed to wear my pyjamas other than for bed & we certainly weren’t allowed to sit on the sofa with a blanket/duvet around us, I still don’t do it to this day but will change out of my work clothes & put joggers & a t-shirt on to be more comfortable.

ScribblyGum · 03/12/2019 17:58

I'm with you OP. I think the ‘straight into pyjamas’ thing odd. I wear pyjamas in bed, or if I'm dangerously ill. If I'm doing neither of those things, then I wear clothes.
When I get in from work then I change out of my uniform into clothes, because I'm not going to bed at half past five in the afternoon.
I am comfortable in my clothes because, and I hate to brag, I am able to achieve a level of normal everyday comfort in items such as trousers and jumpers. Having read most of the thread I'm worried that I'm doing wearing clothes wrong, and everyone else is in hair shirts, pvc shorts two sizes too small and bras made entirely out of barbed wire and bubble wrap.

Tminus3days · 03/12/2019 18:00

Haven't RTFT but I love my pyjamas. I have stomach and bowel problems so honestly putting my pyjamas on early is amazing and so much more comfortable! I don't turn away guests so I can wear them though.

purplebunny2012 · 03/12/2019 18:00

Completely with you. PJs only go on when I'm going to bed. What if I need to nip to the car?! Or put the bins out?

Wintersleep · 03/12/2019 18:19

I'm a bit chubby and have a weird shaped figure so find a lot of clothes uncomfortable. All day I long to take my bra off and put soft tracksuit bottoms on, I don't wear Pj's exactly just leggings, tracksuit bottoms and baggy shirts. I wonder if this would change if I was a bit slimmer and clothes were less awkward on me

CallmeBadJanet · 03/12/2019 18:24

It means you're home, you can relax and forget the day. Some of us have shitty days.

SnooperTrooper88 · 03/12/2019 18:34

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I thought I was weird 😂 Probably still am.
I don't like sitting around in my pajamas. I get dressed as soon as I get out of bed and don't get undressed until I go to bed again 🤷🏻‍♀️
I'm always comfortable in jeans. I just think people must have uncomfortable clothing or something maybe?

Chickychickydodah · 03/12/2019 18:36

I wear my jammies all the time in the house, they are warm and comfy and I don’t give a shit what anyone else thinks.

TooManyPaws · 03/12/2019 18:42

When I get home, I take my skirt off and put a pair of joggers on over my leggings and socks, sweatshirt over my top and often a jersey over the sweatshirt. Boots replaced by slippers. At the weekend I often can't be arsed to get dressed all day. I'm quite happy to potter round the garden, to the car, bins or whatever. I live in the country, no one cares.

Itsrebekahvardysaccount · 03/12/2019 18:45

I’m so sad I’m going out tonight and won’t get to be in my pjs until at least 10 :(

areyouafraidofthedark · 03/12/2019 18:45

I've got home from work, put on my pjs straight away. Been out to the car twice and stood talking to my neighbour for 5 mins didn't bat an eye lid and I'm not bothered who sees me in my pjs outside in the garden or on the drive.

Tinkerbelle57 · 03/12/2019 18:48

Each to their own , I say !!

When I come home, if I am not expecting visitors, I can’t wait to take my bra off and put my pyjamas on. I like to be really comfy and I don’t want to sit around in my day clothes . Also, if I’m not going out that day I will put a t shirt and joggers on.

Tinkerbelle57 · 03/12/2019 18:49

I have pyjamas on now 😜🤪

Waxonwaxoff0 · 03/12/2019 18:51

I put my pyjamas on as soon as I get home from work!

I work in a office so dress smart casual in the week, not comfortable to relax in. And I usually wear skinny jeans at the weekend, again not comfortable when you want to let it all hang out at home. Grin

Treq · 03/12/2019 19:00

I love pyjamas, some days I work from home and I have "day pyjamas" just clean pj's that I put on in the morning. I'm also fond of a onesie.

Waitaway1970 · 03/12/2019 19:02

@*allaboutthequestions

*I don't like wearing outside clothes inside because if they've been worn outside then they will be dirty. OCD. So I get changed as soon as I get in, usually into pjs as they are most comfy. I feel much better for it.
This! Spot on - and same with shoes...why do people wear outdoor shoes indoors?the germs...

SabinaK · 03/12/2019 19:03

I like not seeing my rolls of flab so pjs rule 🤣
