I’ve been on MN since September so still fairly new but I’m obsessed . I am always reading AIBU’s but I’m hooked on the chat section, and I have read some funny stuff over the last few months . Just wanting a laugh really so if you’ve been on here a while , are there any particular threads that have stuck with you ?

OP posts:
counciltax · 01/12/2019 22:08

The author of the sistine Chapel (Mary's Little Lamb) has written some other seriously funny stuff - always makes me ckuckle!!

Lostmyunicorn · 01/12/2019 22:14

Elderly Korean lady is the best thread ever. So lovely and charming and funny. Also the one about the woman who got a plate stuck down behind her loo, which sounds utterly ridiculous but was laugh out loud funny as a million posters suggested ways to try to fish it out.

Shannith · 01/12/2019 22:24

Dead cat and spray painted pigeon.

None of this penis beaker bollocks.

Potentially dead or accidentally maimed small animals are what Mumsnet is really about.

Hushabyelullaby · 01/12/2019 22:33

This has always made me giggle

Layoverlife · 01/12/2019 22:48

@Inebriati Thank you Grin

Namestranger · 01/12/2019 23:05

People having sex in the hedge was a brilliant thread

Wakingupnow · 01/12/2019 23:14

Agree about the Mexican house thread. I was.Shock

The Maui wedding was funny but I think it ended up being a troll.

I've never read the sistine chapel but its mentioned often so i think I need to search it out

MissLadyM · 01/12/2019 23:41

Oh someone please link to the poster who dyed her bumhole blue with toothpaste!

boatybook · 01/12/2019 23:47

Sharon, the wine and the wasp thread that someone mentioned earlier.
One of my favourites

sideorderofchips · 01/12/2019 23:55

Poo pouffe was Mt favourite that introduced me to mumsnet

PickAChew · 01/12/2019 23:56

usually the get a spa day nonsense.

SimpleAndPlanned · 01/12/2019 23:57

The Mexican house thief is gold.
What was the penguin bollard thread called?
Just get stuck in to classics OP!

Thegreymethod · 02/12/2019 00:36

I loved the one where the poster announced she'd died, turned out, from what I can remember people were paying tribute to her on her Facebook page and saying how devastated they were that she'd died but she hadn't, and she couldn't work out how the rumour had started. The way she wrote it and her and her husband had made a big joke about it, it was really funny

ActualHornist · 02/12/2019 00:47

OMG @Namestranger I have just read that twice, it's hilarious and cringy in equal measures! Grin

Debbie698 · 02/12/2019 00:58

The one with the mother who wanted to send her four year old daughter to school with a human skeleton for show-and-tell has stuck with me.

Sadly (or rather, probably for the best) I think it was a troll as it’s been deleted.

fancytiles · 02/12/2019 01:05

I can't stop laughing at some of these, i might go into labour

MrsToothyBitch · 02/12/2019 02:12

Plenty of the above mentioned, especially the incredibly informative evil dolphin thread! Steamed badger was quite funny & the Mexican House Thief thread & T-rexxing in ASDA are brilliant. Not in classics but there was a house viewings one a few months ago with some Shock answers, too. I think life sized, posed clown dolls were mentioned!!

I also love the one where OPs Dds hamster had died on the Dds birthday. Dd had gone to school unaware of this & OP was wondering if she'd be ok to freeze the hamster & "discover him dead" the next day.

OlaEliza · 02/12/2019 02:55

Fatballs made me cry laughing. I couldn't get the image of a proper foolish man standing in front of a fridge out of my head and kept cracking up.

Kensie · 02/12/2019 03:24

The only ones that genuinely make me laugh are the ones about things children come out with. I'm sure there is more than one thread, some of the one liners stay in my head for ages!

I still regularly giggle to myself when I think of the posters child who calls the fat controller from Thomas the tank engine 'fuckin troller' Grin

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 02/12/2019 03:36

I don't really understand why people get so het up about 'troll' threads which are funny and harmless. Obviously it's different if it's a troll thread pretending to be something serious or upsetting.

Neither do I. Take the Balonz one, for example – it was a strung-out joke, but a brilliant one. Gave us all a really good laugh I have returned and reread a few times and hurt nobody.

There was a farting thread a few months back that had tears running down my face. Farting is funny as but some people on there were posting with cats arse faces as they were not amused and finding farting funny is rather childish

Oh yes, the people who for some bizarre reason don’t find farting in the least bit amusing, but nevertheless still see a thread that’s clearly about how funny farting is and think “Yep, that’s the thread for me!” In fact, anybody who takes the trouble to click on any thread and then compose and post a pithy message saying “Who on earth could care less about this?” YOU, obviously!

There was one where there was a typo in the first post so it made no sense and it wasn't obvious what it was meant to be. . There followed pages of mornington crescent type posts discussing perfectly seriously something that noone knew what they were actually talking about. OP came back hours later to a thread full of nonsense.

Please show a little more respect for those of us preparing to celebrate te noihydc again next month Grin

People having sex in the hedge was a brilliant thread

I remember people asking if the OP was sure it wasn’t just hedgehogs or foxes and OP wearily replied “I’ve never heard a hedgehog moaning ‘stick a finger up me bumhole, love!’“ or something similar Grin

PapayaCoconut · 02/12/2019 04:12

Fatballs made me cry laughing.

Oh God, me too. Actual tears. "A bit greasy." 😅

Waytooearly · 02/12/2019 04:45

There's a comment in the PTA cake thread where some just writes: "PUNCH THE CAKE PUNCH IT NOW".

There was an absolutely golden troll thread, with a poster expressing concern about her male colleague going around work with a "floppy baby" under his arm, and everyone at work felt too awkward to ask after the provenance of said baby. Just when people where in danger of taking her seriously, she'd add another outrageous detail to make it clear she was joking. It was like a Seinfeld episode, this grumpy guy walking around at work with a baby and all his colleagues too awkward to ask. So disappointed when it got deleted!

MarleneandBoycie · 02/12/2019 04:59

A recent one where a woman likened having a sweep to the microaggression of white
people touching black women's hair. It is just so disrespectful, the midwife was doing their job they may comment on baby's hair, but it is nothing like the lack of consent or boundaries or othering of touching actual people. Some people just like making drama for the sake of it.

custardbear · 02/12/2019 05:47

Mexican house theif for me - I love a CF thread Wink

commanderdalgliesh · 02/12/2019 06:27

I've just read that the queen died of a heart attack yesterday....Grin
