I’ve been on MN since September so still fairly new but I’m obsessed . I am always reading AIBU’s but I’m hooked on the chat section, and I have read some funny stuff over the last few months . Just wanting a laugh really so if you’ve been on here a while , are there any particular threads that have stuck with you ?

Turned out to be fake by a very well off lady who had called her husband whilst he was having sex with his mistress and the mistress pretended to be a cat
It was deleted but it inspired a comedy thread which was a cross between jilly cooper and the original post
Not sure if it made it to classics
Does anyone else remember it?

I too laughed so much at the Korean in the garden.

There was a very witty one asking how a woman could evict her 'tenant' ie the baby inside her which was overdue, the responses were also very funny and it ran and ran.

What was the one about the person who came home to find someone had walled up their window to build an extension illegally? It was a nightmare situation but written about with humour.

Although it wasn't a funny I also loved the woman who had come out of a nasty relationship and began to notice the 'green eyed gardener'. Last I knew romance had blossomed, they were having a baby and the future was looking rosy. I've always hoped it worked out.

I'm a miserable bastard. I laugh out loud once in a blue moon. I realise there is an element of perhaps not being very kind to someone who may have been a bit vulnerable, but I was howling reading it.

There was one quite a few years back about a woman getting off a train and heading for the taxi queue and being utterly horrified that she wasnt ushered to the front of the queue because she had kids, and there were fashionistas at the front. It's one of the very few threads that have made me properly laugh on here.

There was another one ages ago about a woman in the supermarket with a crying baby, the OP asked the woman if she could hold her baby and carry it around the shop, the woman declined, then her mother came from another aisle, however the OP proceeded to slag the woman off to the shop staff, and then people kept jumping into the thread to wind op up about trusting her gut. In the end she decided to contact the supermarket, get the number plate from cctv in the car park, trace this poor woman down from that and report her to social services in case she was struggling. I was genuinely baffled by the whole thing.

fashionistas thread

I'm off to read it again.

VetOnCall · 03/12/2019 23:44

Nobhobs that cracked me up. Have you stopped cringing yet? Grin Do you have a link to the thread? I must have missed it at the time.

VetOnCall · 04/12/2019 00:01

The Hugo name thread is one of the few that I've actually cried laughing at. It just gets me every time, 'OP, are you still there or did Hugoaway?' 😂😂

I also love this one; 'Suzi Quattro's fat nan' is my particular highlight:

That thread never fails to make me laugh 😂

MrsToothyBitch · 04/12/2019 07:36

Ive laughed at so many of these (although a couple have left me cold) and remember a few for sheer weirdness or intensity. The baby holding in the supermarket stalker! Hmm SadConfused.

Another one I remember, for the unexpectedness was someone complaining about smelly people/general fug on busses ... but luckily she always carried a pomander in her handbag to protect against the smells! So unlikely, it was memorable!

MsTSwift · 05/12/2019 22:40

The one that had me crying with laughter was a style and beauty one - the look the posters were aiming for “cool rock chick” and the reality “suzi quatros nan”. It was so so funny
