Hopefully not a TAAT, but inspired by one. What's the most interesting present your child has ever asked Father Christmas?

One of mine wanted a unicorn last year

A rocket that doesn't smell of cheese Confused
probably some confusion with the moon made of cheese

a baby goat to keep in the bedroom

I asked for a walking talking doll several years in a row back in the early 80s. I was never disappointed with the various variations of tiny tears (not walking or talking) though! I can still remember how special it felt. You don’t even think of what you’ve put on the list because it’s just so magical.

I love the baby goat, such a lovely request!

weegiemum · 28/11/2019 22:43

When I was 4, my favourite toy was my cuddly panda.

I announced on Christmas Eve morning at breakfast that I hoped Santa would bring me a "lady panda". My poor dad spent most of the day in toy shops looking for her.

And he found her. Panda and Lady Panda are in my bedroom to this day (I'll be 49 at Christmas).

She is definitely a lady panda, there's no mistaking it!!

SpotlessMind · 28/11/2019 22:45

I asked for a horse when I was younger and ended up with a Sindy horse.

The most challenging was when my child asked for his dad to move back in, the Christmas after we split. It was difficult to explain why Santa could fix that Sad

A real life Paddington Bear Grin

OwlinaTree · 28/11/2019 22:47

My 3yo announced he'd asked father Christmas for a yoyo on Christmas Eve.

There followed a strategic dash to the garden centre which proved fruitful.

I have no idea where he got this idea from!

Witchend · 28/11/2019 22:47

A cat. Bless the FC she was telling who told her he didn't do live animals. She was happy with a soft toy on the day.

Girlmeetsbook · 28/11/2019 22:48

Eldest has declared that he's not writing a Christmas list this year as the best present Santa got him last year was one he hadn't asked for! Bugger. No pressure then Confused

PurpleSproutingSomething · 28/11/2019 22:51

Not the actual gift part, but DS asked for green wrapping paper, it's not actually as easy as you'd think to find it.

DSD once asked for a chicken puppet Confused we didn't find one in time.

Isithometimeyet0987 · 28/11/2019 22:53

My dd (4) has asked for an elephant this year ever since she went to the zoo in August, I thought she’d forget but nope she’s just wrote a list for Santa and there’s an elephant on it. Santa’s going to bring her a cuddly elephant and a note saying he’s sorry he couldn’t get her an elephant but she can have one when she’s 15 and old enough to look after a pet by which time.... well you know.

6demandingchildren · 28/11/2019 22:54

My youngest asked for an easy bake oven!!!!

TheGirlWhoLived · 28/11/2019 22:56

I will reiterate mine from the other thread... 12 fresh baked cookies
Emma Watson
Also some colouring pencils that never get blunt.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 28/11/2019 22:58

3year old dds Christmas list which she repeated at any given opportunity

A baby That cries
A baby that wees
A pram
And a chocolate rabbit

Where the blue bloody blazes was I supposed to get a chocolate sodding rabbit at Christmas

Ds1 at about 3/4 years old...tucking him up in bed on the 23rd of December

Me...are you looking forward to Christmas baby

Ds1 ....yes mummy

Me....are you excited about what santa might bring you

Ds1....yes mummy, but i only want one thing, its what i really want

Me, safe in the knowledge that ive got everything on his list....whats that

Ds1....all i want, all i really want is a micro pet

Me, internally....WHAT THE FUCK IS A MICRO PET

next day we went to town for breakfast and dh scoured the sodding shops

And thus our Christmas eve tradition of a full English breakfast was born Grin

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 28/11/2019 22:58

A dog (i hate them).
A "mini train" like the one in the Gecko video (google gecko mini train....)
To drive my car/have a real car of his own (DS is 2. Ive tried to explain he isnt allowed until he is 17.... he then spent a week telling me he would be 17 at his next birthday).

TrainspottingWelsh · 28/11/2019 23:02

We've had loads of requests for animals, from Pygmy goats to donkeys. My favourite was for a zebra foal that one intended to have as a riding pony. Complete with detailed research on domesticating zebras and which stable it could live in.

Most challenging was when one was given some old toys in the summer and requested more of the same. Except they were no longer manufactured and not even collectibles you could find online. We spent hours trawling every charity shop in the near, and not so near vicinity. Eventually a colleagues relative found some at a car boot.

Also the year of a very popular toy. That required a 4hr round drive one night to the only place that had them.

bridgetreilly · 28/11/2019 23:03

I mean, you all know that Santa picks one thing from the list, right? He doesn't bring you everything you ask for.

skintbutok · 28/11/2019 23:06

My son when 3 asked for a singing table. I had no clue what he was describing for weeks. Then I spotted it, a toy piano with a microphone.

Boots20 · 28/11/2019 23:07

My daughter asked for asthma for christmas because her friend has it and has really cool inhalers she gets to take in school

BillHadersNewWife · 28/11/2019 23:08

"A real antique doll"

Confused

I was fine about getting her one but they were so expensive! She wanted a Victorian china doll basically. She was 7. I finally found one I could afford and she wasn't perfect or even dressed....luckily I can sew and so made her an outfit that suited the period.

I bought a lovely box and put her in that and DD still has her presented in her box on a shelf now she's 15.

jakeyboy1 · 28/11/2019 23:08

Baby Jesus.

🤷‍♀️

BillHadersNewWife · 28/11/2019 23:09

Bridget not our Santa. Ours gets a few things they ask for.

drspouse · 28/11/2019 23:09

@RufusthebewiIderedreindeer you just decorate the Lindt reindeer wrappers like bunnies. They are the same mould anyway.

Muchtoomuchtodo · 28/11/2019 23:10

When ds2 was 3 he asked for pink slippers and a snowball!

Santa came up trumps on both Grin

Teabay · 28/11/2019 23:10

A Lion. But not a bitey one.

drspouse · 28/11/2019 23:10

Our Santa only brings things that fit in your stocking. DD has asked for chocolate coins three years running now.

TowelNumber42 · 28/11/2019 23:10

A real dodo. Yes, the extinct bird.
