Hopefully not a TAAT, but inspired by one. What's the most interesting present your child has ever asked Father Christmas?

One of mine wanted a unicorn last year

A rocket that doesn't smell of cheese Confused
probably some confusion with the moon made of cheese

a baby goat to keep in the bedroom

DD1 when she was three, wanted a wolf. A real , live timber wolf. Idiot brain here actually started researching wolf hybrid breeders for about 10 minutes before coming to her senses. I convinced her Santa didn't deliver real animals as it was cruel to make them fly all around the world. She was most displeased with the wolf cuddly toy a very accommodating seller couriered to us so it would get to her by Christmas day. But 15 years later, she still has it.

LassoOfTruth · 29/11/2019 16:25

Mine are too small to make such demands yet, but I just wanted to thank you all for making me laugh (and cry a little bit) with your adorable stories on this rainy, hormonal day! Smile

BikeRunSki · 29/11/2019 22:29

An owl, when he was 4. He did mean a real one, but he got a soft toy one, who still sleeps on his bed, 7 years later.

Pleasegodgotosleep · 29/11/2019 22:43

At 2 all my lg wanted was a yellow elephant! No idea where that came from but managed to get a huge yellow stuffed toy which she sleeps with every night Grin

1stmonkey · 29/11/2019 22:53

A million pounds
A real helicopter
An orangutan from Borneo
A computer that does homework for me.

Luckily Santa doesn't bring cash, livestock or electrical items.

Xigris · 29/11/2019 23:02

A defibrillator. He’s 9 Blush

hennaoj · 29/11/2019 23:03

An electrical chicken fan. Novelty fans don't even exist in the UK. Luckily my parents spend part of the year in Florida, where novelty fans exist. He then saw a picture of a turtle fan on the label...

Xigris · 29/11/2019 23:03

That was meant to be a Confused face.

Just to clarify, he won’t actually be getting a defibrillator.

Stravapalava · 29/11/2019 23:08

DD1 asked for Doc McStuffins lip balm one evening, must have been about the 21st or 22nd of December. Could I find such a thing? No. I resorted to peeling the label off a lipsyl and sticking a printed out Doc McStuffins picture to it!

And don't ask about the faff I had with the Sainsbury's limited edition Mog teddies one year... DD1 really wanted one, but they were like gold dust. I searched like mad and told her after a few days that I couldn't find one, thinking that would be that. Oh no, she cheerfully informed me not to worry, that Santa would get one each for her and her sister instead! I had everyone I knew looking for them in the end. Luckily someone found them for me and "Santa" saved the day! Was proper stressful!

NationMcKinley · 29/11/2019 23:13

@Shooturlocalmethdealer

Your son is awesome. I hope your sister is ok now. Flowers

louisethedisease · 29/11/2019 23:16

Ghostbusters colouring book is on the list this time

theSnuffster · 29/11/2019 23:17

My 7 year old has asked for Harry Styles.

Onepuddingisneverenough · 29/11/2019 23:18
  1. A pink giant panda (as in a living breathing one)
  2. A house made of Lego (we had our house up for sale several years ago and ds wanted us to buy a real house, built of Lego. Went as far as to tell Santa that’s all he wanted)
  3. To meet baby Jesus

Thank fuck DS is old enough to beg for money and concert tickets now - that I can do!

BarbedBloom · 29/11/2019 23:22

I saw chocolate bunnies in debenhams today

bastardseverywhere · 29/11/2019 23:45

A puppy cat ,

No amount of explaining that it was either a cat or a puppy she was wanting or that we lived in a flat and wasn't allowed either anyway worked that year .

Myshitisreal · 29/11/2019 23:47

@jackparlanbane I can post you a piece of coal????

Myshitisreal · 29/11/2019 23:51

@jackparlabane 😁

Ormally · 29/11/2019 23:51

A pink bin.
Thought it would be easy - took a while to find one and the real issue, not least as a non driver, was attempting to buy and get home and to conceal it without the accompaniment of DD!

Oh, and the last-hour request (just early enough to be hunted for) was a disco ball. Got one about 20cm across, never been near the ceiling in a year though.

mummyduckduck · 30/11/2019 10:47

Last year DD (then 7) refused to tell me what she was asking Father Christmas for, and wouldn't write a letter until bedtime on Christmas Eve. She shoved the letter up the chimney.

I pulled it out after bedtime and it said she wanted "for everyone to be happy".

My first thought was 'how the fuck am I meant to wrap that?'

CheshireChat · 30/11/2019 16:26

The Minecraft freaking transforming sword pickaxe thing! It's out of stock most places except eBay where they don't tell you if you'll actually get it for Christmas. Not to mention I couldn't really afford it right now, but I found £20 so DS lucked out.

DS has firmly suggested 🎅 should be on a diet anyways Grin.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 03/12/2019 19:47

@1stmonkey I have an old school friend who actually runs an eco lodge in Sumatra and works in conservation. She runs clubs and projects with the local people and children and is an expert on orang utans.
If you look her up on social media, she has lovely pictures and all the information about them. It's not the same as having a real live one in a stocking, but might help.. Xmas Grin
Just search Green Hill at Bukit Lawang on SM. Her name is Andrea.

jayho · 03/12/2019 19:50

'A little brother, aged about 8'

crumpet · 03/12/2019 19:54

Not a very interesting present but the year dd mentioned roller skates at about 3.45 pm on Christmas Eve, and that of course she didn’t need to say anything sooner because Father Christmas KNEW, was quite a challenge

Kokapetl · 03/12/2019 20:04

A snowman rubber (eraser for North Americans!)

Surprisingly hard to find.

1stmonkey · 03/12/2019 20:04

Thanks @PomBearWithAnOFRS - will def check it out!
