Hopefully not a TAAT, but inspired by one. What's the most interesting present your child has ever asked Father Christmas?

One of mine wanted a unicorn last year

A rocket that doesn't smell of cheese Confused
probably some confusion with the moon made of cheese

a baby goat to keep in the bedroom

A ‘Titanic’ gravy boat - this will out me massively so I’ve used my special ‘talking about hair’ username!

I did have a good look , but no: they dn’t exist Hmm

I once asked for a cuckoo clock, and bless them, that’s what I got (they had it mended and everything)

Lorddenning1 · 28/11/2019 23:11

My little one once asked for an X-ray for Christmas, hold still then while I break your leg Confused

Teabay · 28/11/2019 23:12

Now DD is older, she doesn't tell me what she wants from Santa "because Santa just knows through magic." Hmmm

Yestermost · 28/11/2019 23:12

When I was skint one year my Ds aged 4 only wanted "an apple you chop in half". The wooden sets they came in were really expensive but in our local sure start he found one and told the worker it was just the one he wanted. On the way out she slipped it to me. Made our Xmas morning he was so happy Smile. I gave it back a couple of months later when he no longer played with it!

I have 2 Christmas list items that I tried & failed to get for Dd.
1 a drawing thing that makes the picture 3d & light up - after hours spent trawling the internet & toyshops I interrogated Dd further, where did you see this thing you do desperately want? IN MY HEAD was the answer
Failure no 2 - a conveyor belt, not like the ones by the till in tesco, no, a conveyor belt like they have in the airport.
Dd is 14 now & wants Jeffree Star make up, it is more real than the toy she saw in her head but sadly no easier to come by

totallyradllama · 28/11/2019 23:13

A kitten. And asked Santa for one at the grotto. He looked over her head at me pulling a face and he said mmm I'm not sure that giving pets for Christmas is allowed so I'll see if I can get you a cuddly one!

Tillygetsit · 28/11/2019 23:14

My dd1 has asked for a wormery, stick insects and a tarantula. Hmmm...

Freshprincess · 28/11/2019 23:15

A real life jack in the box.

claracluck78 · 28/11/2019 23:15

At 4, DS2 asked for the Natural History Museum. Not a day trip but the whole museum. Brick by brick and specimen by specimen.

He's still obsessed with the place now but has to make do with visits!

Wineiscooling · 28/11/2019 23:17

We went from an orange one year, the following year an ice cream van, last year a real live genie in a bottle! Santa did good on one of those 3 years!

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 28/11/2019 23:18

DS aged 5 wants a wishing machine that makes him everything he wishes for. Hmm

Tried saying Santa couldn’t get it but he says Santa can get anything because he’s magic.

confuddeledconfuddel · 28/11/2019 23:20

@Boots20 you have just won the year with that request GrinGrin brilliant

cloudyscissors · 28/11/2019 23:21

The ability to fly! He asks every year. I have to say Father Christmas will see to it that he gets to dream this as he's too young to fly yet.

SantasLittleHelper2019 · 28/11/2019 23:23

One year we had “a pet squirrel and the ability to fly” on ds letter Grin

confuddeledconfuddel · 28/11/2019 23:23

I am loving these. My LG has just turned 3, can't wait to see what she asks for in the coming years Grin

IsFuzzyBeagMise · 28/11/2019 23:28

A rollercoaster. Our ds who was nearly three years old at the time came out with this.
We got him a wooden train set.

FirstTicket · 28/11/2019 23:31

Boots20 that’s hilarious 😂

My 7 yo DD’s Xmas list this year (bare in mind she’s never asked for anything before... ever!)

  • Laptop
  • Phone
  • LOL Glamper (it’s £100!?)
  • Chihuahua dog on pink lead that barks

I had to tell her that Santa didn’t bring expensive things because it would cost too much for all the boys and girls and you have to ask mammies and daddies for things like that. Then tell her we couldn’t afford them until she was older.

Thought at least I could get her this dog toy... but couldn’t find one anywhere. When questioned about it she said “oh nana got me a Dalmatian one, I want it exactly the same but a chihuahua”.

Her nana got it from a charity shop and it’s about 20 years old! There definitely isn’t a chihuahua version Confused Had to then explain Santa also couldn’t bring things that didn’t already exist because he wouldn’t have time to make them all 😂

loseyourself · 28/11/2019 23:32

4 kids and the usual requests, xbox, tv, phone, bikes, hover boards and my third just really wants a 'snakes and ladders board game' and...my heart melted, I hope to god Santa still makes those.

Poppinjay · 28/11/2019 23:32

God

Zac Efron

One million books.

All on the one Christmas list. I wasn't sure which was the hardest to source!

thaegumathteth · 28/11/2019 23:33

Not difficult but weird - dd aged 3 asked for a fruit bowl filled with fruit just for her own self

Cineraria · 28/11/2019 23:34

Aged 5, I told my heavily pregnant mum that she was definitely going to have twin girls as I'd written asking for baby twin sisters in my letter to Father Christmas. I can remember her slightly alarmed "How am I getting around that one?" look after I said it.

DB is apparently evidence that I needed to put in a lot more effort with my handwriting!

loubieloo4 · 28/11/2019 23:34

Dd asked for an apple tree and a bacon sandwich! Santa delivered both. The apple tree is still going strong 11 years later and gives us masses of apples 🍏

patchysmum · 28/11/2019 23:35

When my son was nearly 3 he asked for the moon for Christmas I said it is too high in the sky to reach so he said well stand on a chair to get it.He is grown up now and I so miss the innocence of childhood. Those with young children treasure every minute it it passes far too fast

dontcallmeduck · 28/11/2019 23:36

Something magical and extra special. No idea what he means.

asparagusnextleft5 · 28/11/2019 23:39

"A flying, floating mo control Chitty Chitty Bang Bang."
^^quoted directly from my now 19yo's Christmas list, 2006. We'd just been to see the stage musical and he was obsessed with the idea. He genuinely thought such a thing existed, and was slightly disappointed when Father Christmas brought him a tiny Corgi model instead!
