Hopefully not a TAAT, but inspired by one. What's the most interesting present your child has ever asked Father Christmas?

One of mine wanted a unicorn last year

A rocket that doesn't smell of cheese Confused
probably some confusion with the moon made of cheese

a baby goat to keep in the bedroom

Ds then aged 2 wanted a potato to feed his dinosaurs.

PandasandRabbit · 28/11/2019 23:43

Alpaca, white mountain dog, St Bernard and a "disabled dog with no legs" Confused request by DD who is 14 Hmm

We have an elderly cat and don't have a field.

FenellaVelour · 28/11/2019 23:43

Not kids but I asked every year for a chemistry set when I was a kid. Every year without fail. My mum never got me one as she was too afraid I’d blow up the house.

Saxineno · 28/11/2019 23:44

Last year my then 5yo asked for the pac man board game that was available in the 80's. Got one from eBay but it's missing bits and box is in a right state, but he was over the moon!

SoulToSqueeze · 28/11/2019 23:45

DD3.5 has asked for fake milk and fake bread. Plastic grocery set from Argos it is then....

AnAngryElf · 28/11/2019 23:45

@weegiemum

That is the loveliest story!Smile

Deliqueen · 28/11/2019 23:46

Our best one was when my oldest was about 4. She suddenly decided about a week before Xmas that the only thing she wanted was a pink Barbie dog that walked next to her! I assumed she'd seen a TV advert, but couldn't find anything that matched her description. I asked her loads of times what she meant, pointed out toy plastic barbie dogs, but no, she was very specific about the detail. Eventually I sourced a pink Barbie dog that walked from ebay, cost about £8. They were only ever manufactured in the US so still no idea to this day where she got the idea from!! It arrived on Christmas Eve and she was a very happy girl on Christmas morning!!
The cutest was my youngest whose answer every time anyone asked her what she wanted was a Peppa Pig scarf. That was a cheap year😂

BillHadersNewWife · 28/11/2019 23:50

Soul I thought you said "Fake milk and fake breasts" !! Shock

AnnieAnt · 28/11/2019 23:51

Ds wants a hot tub. No idea why/where from but he is demonstrating some impressive lateral thinking of a 7yo every time I tell him there's nowhere to put it.

He doesn't want anything else!

Elphame · 28/11/2019 23:51

Thunderbird Island many years ago - it was virtually impossible to get hold of and I was on the waiting list at at least 5 different toy shops.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 28/11/2019 23:55

No2 son when he was about five -"A clock and a shark"
DD aged about 9 - "A pamplemousse"
PFB every year from age three til now (he's 29!) - "A whole jelly to just eat" ie just the squares, not made up into an actual jelly.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 28/11/2019 23:56

Oh and there was the whole Tuna Family saga if anyone remembers that... Grin

TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey · 29/11/2019 00:00

DD2, who is 9 wants a morse code machine, a book on morse code and sign language lessons. Makes a change from the usual lego, dolls and 'phone stuff'. 😁

ElphiasDoge · 29/11/2019 00:01

My sister wanted an A0 sized bit of paper when she was small. Apparently harder to find than you’d think!

Dinosauratemydaffodils · 29/11/2019 00:03

Ds who is 4 wants a family of Apatosauruses this year. No other long necked dinosaurs will suffice and certainly not toy versions.

PFB every year from age three til now (he's 29!) - "A whole jelly to just eat" ie just the squares, not made up into an actual jelly.

That's the best way to eat it!

TrixieFranklin · 29/11/2019 00:05

A Peppa pig campervan, specifically not a toy one but a real one that we could all go camping in and to feed the ducks.

Purpleartichoke · 29/11/2019 00:05

A snow maker puppy. A puppy with a glowing amulet that could make it snow in the room.

I got her a stuffed animal and made it a collar with a small snow globe attached.

hiyahen · 29/11/2019 00:07

Not challenging to get a hold of but a challenging gift because of the potential chaos around the house that it could cause... My DS asked for stepladders last year (he was 3!). We got him small ones but there was still so much potential for disaster they have been in the shed since February!

UnderTheSleepingBaby · 29/11/2019 00:09

My son, age 2 decided he wanted the dog teddy that his cousin had recieved as her gift from visiting santa. Obviously it was cheap and unbranded (I actually joined mumsnet to ask for assistance) my niece was keeping a close eye on hers and would have noticed if he'd unwrapped it Christmas morning! I was about ready to give up so my mum went back to the shopping centre santa place and explained and they opened some soft presents until they found one and gave it to her for free :) he was over the moon and I was very impressed with their Christmas spirit

RainbowMum11 · 29/11/2019 00:09

DD6 wants a baby this year. A real one.
Not going to happen - told her Santa isn't a miracle worker!!!

kateandme · 29/11/2019 00:10

a polar bear and and some ice.
"why the ice"
looking like i was stoooopid for even asking the question
"for the polar bear to sit on!"

IdblowJonSnow · 29/11/2019 00:13

Mine wanted a walking talking unicorn that could go in the bath Shock

CactusSmactus · 29/11/2019 00:14

My now 12 year old DD wrote Santa a letter one year asking for Ginger Hair and a Grappling Hook 🤯

longwayoff · 29/11/2019 00:21

Daughter to her beloved and indulged 2.5 year old "tell me what you want from Father Christmas, darling, we have to write him a note. Christmas is special, you can ask for anything" 'Anything?' "Yes. What do you want?" ' I would like my very own telegraph pole. Like that one" kid points to whacking great telephone pole outside garden wall. Oh.Smile

HerRoyalNotness · 29/11/2019 00:25

2.5yo has asked for a yeeha (horse). I told her to ask her dad. She’ll be getting a play mobile horse advent calendar, that’s the best I can do. Hopefully in the future if I get work again I can at least send her for riding lessons. Cowgirls and horses are her favourite thing ever
