Hopefully not a TAAT, but inspired by one. What's the most interesting present your child has ever asked Father Christmas?

One of mine wanted a unicorn last year

A rocket that doesn't smell of cheese Confused
probably some confusion with the moon made of cheese

a baby goat to keep in the bedroom

A cloud. A real cloud. Wrapping it might have been challenging too.
That same Christmas he also made a huge snowball and stored it in the freezer for 6 months "to show it to the summer"
He's 20 now. ☺️

An electricity pylon!

Child has autism and has a special interest in pylons!!!!

(Made up a photo book of pictures and found some models for him to make)

jackparlabane · 29/11/2019 08:43

Dd actually asked for a lump of coal.
Do you know how difficult it is to get a lump of coal in London? And outside smokeless zones you still need to order it by the tonne...

Eventually got a lump relayed from Yorkshire to us via various friends...

I have no idea where it went after a couple years in pride of place on her mantlepiece - which is problem as she wants another one this year!

Neverland (as in Peter Pan, a longstanding obsession)
To go and live in. Forever.

'A kilo of cheese just for me' and a wall of those square tissue boxes.

Both kids have ASD.
The 2nd, I could do.
The 1st, I couldn't :(

@RufusthebewiIderedreindeer They really are not the same shape. Just google it and you will see.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 29/11/2019 09:11

apollo

You may have saved my children from having their chocolate reindeer snatched from them (before they bite the head off) on Christmas morning!!

And as they are 16, 18 and 20 ill have quite the fight on my hands

I’ll look

drspouse · 29/11/2019 09:30

I was speaking slightly tongue in cheek but you could easily hack a bunny out of a reindeer with decorated wrapping.

ravenshope · 29/11/2019 09:39

you could make a pink lead.

Roomba · 29/11/2019 09:44

DS1 announced one Christmas Eve that all he wanted from Father Christmas was a giant tube of Jaffa Cakes (ie those foot long packs you can get at Christmas). I spent hours driving to every supermarket in a panic because they'd all sold out! Finally found a pack in a tiny corner shop I went into to buy a paper on my forlorn way home 😁

After that I mentioned to DS that Father Christmas has a final ordering deadline two weeks before Christmas - he's so busy that if you don't mention it before the deadline, you ain't getting it!

Tvstar · 29/11/2019 09:44

A baby elephant

Newbie1999 · 29/11/2019 09:46

My 4yo just asked for an ‘electric deer... that can walk... in a circle.’ Hmm

carrie74 · 29/11/2019 09:49

A private beach. She was about 7.

I think it was after that that she lost some of the magic of Christmas 😂

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 29/11/2019 10:37

Can’t believe i fell for drspouses comment Grin

It was early...thats my defence and im sticking to it

Basecamp65 · 29/11/2019 11:10

Our 4 year old wants an invisible bike that has flashing lights she can turn on and off - oh and it needs to be one of the lie down bikes - I can't think of the proper name.

She is 100% convinced Santa can use magic to make it.

We are going against all our normal behaviour and bombarding her with adverts for pink plastic crap in the hope she sees something else - at the moment we think a Barbie camper van may win out!

He Mum once asked for a pussy cat in the rain for 3 Xmas and Birthdays in a row - we had no idea what it was and she had never been able to show us about 5 years later she spotted a picture of a cat soap that grew fur when wet or something the lines around it did look like rain. This was the thing she had asked for for 3 Xmases running and we had clue what it was. It simply was in one of catalogues that comes every year through the door - we never really looked at them and threw them away within a couple of days.

Smarshian · 29/11/2019 11:12

“Big long legs” - we’re getting stilts.

Zoflorabore · 29/11/2019 11:14

Ds ( now 16 ) asked me once for a micro pig Grin

PushkinTheCat · 29/11/2019 11:21

A real tube train. The Birthday Fairy failed to deliver this year (too heavy for her to carry) so hopes are pinned on Father Christmas...

Headinthedrawer · 29/11/2019 11:36

A perfectly ripe mango. Not as easy as it sounds.
A bell from Santa's sleigh.
And this year...a tiny hammer from the elves workshop (Thank you Etsy)

ThinkIamflyingundertheradar · 29/11/2019 11:37

My 2 yo wanted a motorbike and a tattoo. He eventually got the tattoo when he turned 18 (only one so far, thank god, I hate them). Thankfully the desire for a motorbike seems to have passed.

Percivalthebabyspider · 29/11/2019 11:47

When I was small and way before the invention of laptops and smart watches I wanted a computer book and watch like Penny in 'Inspector Gadget'.

I also asked for 'world peace' every year. Still waiting for that one.

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 29/11/2019 14:58

Thank you very much cava

BreasticlesNotTesticles · 29/11/2019 16:12

To journey into space 😬

Tanith · 29/11/2019 16:14

"Real fairy wings so that I can fly" (DD asked for them when she was 6).

Sorry DD - no can do! Grin
