This one ->

www.itv.com/news/2019-11-27/jeremy-corbyn-says-uncensored-documents-show-nhs-is-part-of-toxic-post-brexit-trade-talks-with-us/

I had already decided to vote for the conservatives, mainly because I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the others who seem hell bent on gleefully ripping up womens rights. I've always voted so abstaining/spoiling wasn't an option.

But after reading/watching the above I think I am going to switch to voting labour. We are a disabled family, and could never afford to pay for healthcare (and I doubt insurance would touch us with a barge pole).

I don't like Momentum/Corbyn really but I'd rather complain and fight for my right to a single sex ward than not be able to use one at all

Re: brexit I voted remain in the last referendum but to be honest just have fatigue about the whole thing, so I'm not basing my vote on any of that. (Though seems a second vote isn't that terrible an idea).

Just posting because I can't see anything on here about this yet and I've gone from feeling quietly confident that Conservatives would win to feeling nervous about it now. Anyone else?

We won't be able to afford an NHS under these labour fuckwits so it's doomed either way.

Talking of fuckwits, where's Abbott these days?

Oh and yes, I also think it will be a solid conservative majority.

Derbee · 27/11/2019 13:50

YANBU. YABU to vote for Corbyn though

CendrillonSings · 27/11/2019 13:51

read the 451 page document before you start spouting your smugness.

It’s not putting the portions of the NHS out for tender. Research people!

Ouch - looks like you don’t like facts! And as if you read all 451 pages of St. Jeremy’s propaganda document before you decided it was all true! Grin

EducatingArti · 27/11/2019 13:53

Yanbu

bellinisurge · 27/11/2019 13:53

Not unreasonable. Important to be informed and think carefully about who to vote for. Also important to keep an open mind.
I won't be voting for Corbyn but I respect your right to do so. Particularly if you have thought it through.

Lifecraft · 27/11/2019 13:53

No one’s buying the ‘Labour will run out of money’ bollocks.

No need to buy it, Labour will give it away! Grin

Seriously, Labour will always run out of other people's money. They always have in the past.

Iggly · 27/11/2019 13:53

YANBU to vote. Whether you vote labour or Tory is your choice.

I would disagree with anyone who votes Tory unless they accept that their chosen party actively chooses to demonise the poor, the ill, the disabled. If they accept that then fair enough, that’s your prerogative.

Look at what parties and politicians do, not what they say.

MustardScreams · 27/11/2019 13:54

@CendrillonSings you don’t need to read all the pages to see that what biker is trying to push as ‘facts’ isn’t true.

I’m guessing you have read it, being the Tory bot that you are Smile

MustardScreams · 27/11/2019 13:55

@Lifecraft oh god you’re another that thinks Labour caused the global financial crisis aren’t you? Poor thing.

CendrillonSings · 27/11/2019 13:56

A but rich considering the masses of Labour bots swarming the thread! Grin

Good luck with your 2-year old smear job!

Everanewbie · 27/11/2019 13:59

YABU based on that document. It's been widely discredited by anyone who has read it, not just read Labours tweets.

However if you believe that Labour and their policies better reflect your values then YANBU.

ReallyRatherBlonde · 27/11/2019 13:59

I don't want to be flamed for this, I love the NHS and it has saved several of my close family member's lives (some on more than one occasion) in the last few years. But this release has been perfectly timed to distract from when Labour would inevitably cock up on the campaign trail. Ultimately:

  1. Privatisation doesn't mean it won't be free at the point of use!
  2. Its supported privately anyway - they don't make their own drugs or build their own hospitals
  3. Something needs to change with the NHS. About the only thing the country can agree on at the moment is that it is unsustainable - if its run more like a private business it could improve efficiencies.
  4. Labour couldn't afford to fund it anyway with their economic policies
  5. It is such a transparent diversionary tactic from Corbyn its laughable
  6. The document is from well over a year ago and pre dates Boris' leadership.
DioneTheDiabolist · 27/11/2019 14:00

YANBU OP. Austerity has taken its toll. The money for Brexit has to come from somewhere, under the Tories this will be from the NHS and the poorest in society. Even if they dont just sell the NHS off, they will run it into the ground as they are doing now.

Gilead · 27/11/2019 14:01

Thing is, it isn't a rubbish story. Yes the talks started in 2017, they continued until 'a few months ago'. What is shows is that talks have been held; ergo the NHS is up for discussion with the USA. If it's up for discussion, if talks have been held, it's up for negotiation and these things don't happen overnight.
From a personal point of view I take a biolsimilar drug. It's a copy of the one that was on Panorama. It cost £633.00 per dose. I use it weekly. That's over nearly £2.500 per month. Where the hell would I find that, and who would insure for that?

Iggly · 27/11/2019 14:02

Seriously, Labour will always run out of other people's money. They always have in the past

When?

Please don’t cite the letter left in the treasury. You’ll embarrass yourself as that was a running joke between incoming and outgoing ministers.

ReallyRatherBlonde · 27/11/2019 14:04

Oh and 7. No political party would change it to the extent that it was no longer free at point of use, it would be political suicide. But you can change how it is ran without doing that.

Iggly · 27/11/2019 14:05

if its run more like a private business it could improve efficiencies

There’s no actual evidence to show this to be the case actually.

kitk · 27/11/2019 14:05

YANBU OP. The NHS is the big issue this election for many, not Brexit. Even those who want Brexit don't want to lose their NHS

CendrillonSings · 27/11/2019 14:06

Please don’t cite the letter left in the treasury. You’ll embarrass yourself as that was a running joke between incoming and outgoing ministers.

Well, apart from the letter, there’s the 100 billion pound deficit Labour left alongside it...

Amanduh · 27/11/2019 14:07

Yabu to on that. Have you actually read it? It’s common sense.

PaddyF0dder · 27/11/2019 14:07

Voting Tory always seems to be a deeply selfish “won’t affect me”. Activity. They are the nasty party. The party of wealth privilege.

It’s interesting to see a Tory voter changing their mind because suddenly the Tories self-serving actions have the potential to harm them personally.

Don’t get me wrong. Fewer Tory voters is always a good thing. I just wish the OP was changing their vote for a less self-serving reason.

I don't care what Boris promises about the NHS as he will say anything to stay in power.

Far left in charge of Labour is a nightmare.

The result will reflect two issue IMO - Brexit v NHS.

NHS has been pushed to the brink of collapse by Tory cuts, now they want to ride to the rescue with increased spending...Gah. Just such a shame we don't have a moderate Labour leader.

HRH2020 · 27/11/2019 14:10

YANBU

there are obviously trade talks happening with the US, I wouldn't take the chance on anything like this potentially becoming a reality by voting conservative.

Alsohuman · 27/11/2019 14:12

Well, apart from the letter, there’s the 100 billion pound deficit Labour left alongside it...

And the national debt that’s doubled under those paragons of prudence, the Tories.
