This one ->

www.itv.com/news/2019-11-27/jeremy-corbyn-says-uncensored-documents-show-nhs-is-part-of-toxic-post-brexit-trade-talks-with-us/

I had already decided to vote for the conservatives, mainly because I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the others who seem hell bent on gleefully ripping up womens rights. I've always voted so abstaining/spoiling wasn't an option.

But after reading/watching the above I think I am going to switch to voting labour. We are a disabled family, and could never afford to pay for healthcare (and I doubt insurance would touch us with a barge pole).

I don't like Momentum/Corbyn really but I'd rather complain and fight for my right to a single sex ward than not be able to use one at all

Re: brexit I voted remain in the last referendum but to be honest just have fatigue about the whole thing, so I'm not basing my vote on any of that. (Though seems a second vote isn't that terrible an idea).

Just posting because I can't see anything on here about this yet and I've gone from feeling quietly confident that Conservatives would win to feeling nervous about it now. Anyone else?

I will vote tactically to keep Labour out.

That means voting Lib dim as they are the second strongest party. Any votes for Green and Labour are wasted votes in my town. I wish people would realise this and also vote LD. LD have a better green agenda than Conservatives where I live and a better attitude to social issues than the totes too so both lab and greens would do better getting the LD candidate in and kicking the Tory one out once an for all.

Are others voting tactically?

I don't think the electoral issue is whether you are 'pro NHS' or not, Xenia. I don't think any politician has said that they're 'anti the NHS', have they? That's a silly premise to have a discussion from.

The electoral issues- and the what divides the parties and public opinion - is whether you are:

'pro healthcare being available at point of need',

'pro properly paid and supported staff',

'pro regulation to reduce private companies to making even more profit from the NHS'

'pro the NHS remaining a public asset'

'pro the NHS in partnership with the welfare state supporting those most in need and the most vulnerable in our society'

and issues like that.

Reform is most definitely needed but the key dividing issue is whether you think this should involve already wealthy companies and individuals creaming off ever more public funds into their own assets.

So saying that the Tory party is 'pro NHS' is a pretty meaningless statement really.

CatBling I can't vote tactically because I live in a very safe seat.

I have joined vote swap to swop my Labour vote with someone who wants to vote Green but now can't because their local MP has stepped down the get the Tories out.

I looked at that but I wouldn't trust them to vote how I wanted.

I suppose you could vote swap with family elsewhere in the country.

thehorseandhisboy · 07/12/2019 13:43

Very true, but this way my Labour vote has a chance of making a difference in a marginal.

Will make no difference at all in my constituency.

rhubarbcrumbles · 07/12/2019 14:29

It won't make any difference in mine either, sadly.

But I have clearly said I support the NHS as do most Tories

@Xenia. Empty words when I expect you have private heath care given how you have bragged repeatedly about being able to pay upfront for all your children to go to university having had all their fees paid for them up front. Of course you are a Tory, you don't need to care about the rest of us who aren't made of money.

DowntownAbby · 07/12/2019 14:34

Current odds:

No matter how much vote swapping and moaning on social media goes on, it's going to be a conservative majority government.

The NHS is not being privatised any more than it was under Labour.

And look up the 2012 National Health and Care Act.
