This one ->

www.itv.com/news/2019-11-27/jeremy-corbyn-says-uncensored-documents-show-nhs-is-part-of-toxic-post-brexit-trade-talks-with-us/

I had already decided to vote for the conservatives, mainly because I couldn't bring myself to vote for any of the others who seem hell bent on gleefully ripping up womens rights. I've always voted so abstaining/spoiling wasn't an option.

But after reading/watching the above I think I am going to switch to voting labour. We are a disabled family, and could never afford to pay for healthcare (and I doubt insurance would touch us with a barge pole).

I don't like Momentum/Corbyn really but I'd rather complain and fight for my right to a single sex ward than not be able to use one at all

Re: brexit I voted remain in the last referendum but to be honest just have fatigue about the whole thing, so I'm not basing my vote on any of that. (Though seems a second vote isn't that terrible an idea).

Just posting because I can't see anything on here about this yet and I've gone from feeling quietly confident that Conservatives would win to feeling nervous about it now. Anyone else?

The Labour government under Blair put, so much strain on the service, without building the infrastructure to hold it in place.

Alsohuman · 29/11/2019 18:58

You’re very welcome @Thinkingabout1t. Misinformation needs to be corrected.

Iggly · 29/11/2019 20:37

Johnson seems to get a free pass however dishonest, bullying, abusive and cowardly his behaviour is

^this

Under theresa May when she first came in, I found myself thinking maybe, just maybe the Tories aren’t that bad. Then I read up on their manifesto and reminded myself of the state of the public sector. At the moment only the disadvantaged are affected. They don’t have a voice but another 5 years and more of us will be impacted.

I would rather not take that risk. I know fundamentally what the Tories stand for and how little they care about those who’ve suffered misfortune.

No it isn't hence why you can cite why Johnson does 'lie' etc,

I know fundamentally what the Tories stand for and how little they care about those who’ve suffered misfortune.

Your personal anecdotes is not representative, kind of highlights you yourself are engaged in your own media echo chamber and not as critical thinking as you make out, I will bet my house on any criticism of corbyn you see will be disregarded as easily led by the MSM

It would be funny if you wasn't so serious in your apparent superiority

curlykaren · 29/11/2019 22:14

Ha ha, @Justanotherlurker actually lecturing other people about 'apparent superiority'. Peak irony reached here folks!!

Attacking the person instead of the argument shows I was right with regards to you.

This isn't twitter, you need to offer some kind of rebuttal instead of chasing likes.

LabourHere · 29/11/2019 22:32

Heaven help us if conservatives get in again. Please no.

curlykaren · 29/11/2019 22:37

Oh no, I was wrong, the irony stacks upon irony. @Justanotherlurker you have zero self awareness, look at what you're writing you loon.

Alsohuman · 29/11/2019 22:38

Oh, the irony. You’ve called me unintelligent, partisan, an astroturfer, and incapable of critical thinking but it seems there are different rules in play for you.

Justanotherlurker · 29/11/2019 22:44

Great comeback.

curlykaren · 29/11/2019 22:46

@Alsohuman I know right. Zero self awareness!

Justanotherlurker · 29/11/2019 22:52

There is no irony, you are obviously partisan, you do obviously lack critical thinking and I am just playing by your rules, those that don't think like me are easily led by propaganda, lack critical thinking skills etc etc.

We could get into a situation where you say that the working class tory vote is turkeys voting for christmas if you like, but you will still not come out as being as intelligent or politcally aware as you try and make out.

@Alsohuman

Twitter like replies on a forum highlights your intelligence, probably more than you care to admit.

lightsoul · 30/11/2019 07:35

A drain on the NHS GP's should be brought into the system

ColourMagic · 30/11/2019 11:57

Education spending has been slashed by £7bn since 2011.

'Analysis by the House of Commons Library found that real-terms spending on schools and colleges had slumped from £95.5bn in 2011/12 to £87.8bn last year, a total fall of £7.7bn.

The figures show education spending as a share of GDP fell from 5.69 per cent to 4.27 per cent, a decline of 25 per cent in only seven years.'

Still no chance of Labour getting in so they continue to offer the moon on a stick.

Xenia · 03/12/2019 16:10

High stpending of course is not something most short of money hard working tax payers want and is not the desirable thing the left always seem to suggest. I want taxes to come down and state spending to much less and I doubt there will bem uch chance of that even under the Tories but they are certainly the better party to manage the country.

"Compared to other countries…

OECD analysis puts UK public spending on education at 4.2% of GDP in 2016. This was 12th highest out of the 34 OECD members with data on this measure and higher than the OECD average of 4.0%. If private expenditure on education is included then the UK’s total spending on education in 2016 was 6.2% of GDP, Only Norway (6.5%), New Zealand (6.4%) and Chile (6.3%) had higher figures." researchbriefings.parliament.uk/ResearchBriefing/Summary/SN01078

Those of us who choose to relieve the state of the burden of educating our children will presumably get medals from Corbyn if he wins power as we are heroes of the people.

thehorseandhisboy · 03/12/2019 19:05

Doesn't quite work like that Xenia.

The teachers who teach/taught your children will have been trained by the state and will likely have picked up much experience from working in that sector.

Alsohuman · 03/12/2019 19:07

Same as private healthcare. The NHS trains the doctors and nurses who work there. Surgeons gain their experience on NHS patients.

thehorseandhisboy · 03/12/2019 19:16

Indeed. And there's no private A & E provision.

The private sector relies completely on the state sector.

I always find it bewildering when people don't understand this.

Alsohuman · 03/12/2019 19:44

They don’t want to. And of course, if something goes wrong with your private surgery and you need intensive care, it’s back to the NHS again.

PigletJohn · 03/12/2019 20:12

"Donald Trump is ready to use trade talks to force the National Health Service to pay more for its drugs as part of his scheme to "put American patients first”.

Mr Trump has claimed that the high costs faced by US patients are a direct result of other countries’ health services “freeloading” at America’s expense."

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/05/15/trump-threatens-use-us-trade-talks-force-nhs-pay-drugs/

This article is from the Telegraph, last year. Boris has begged Trump to keep his mouth shut, and Trump has recently issued a statement which you could almost think was written for him by Cummings, but which does not reverse his views on drug prices.

Devora13 · 06/12/2019 20:52

Unless you come from old money and have an 'old boys' card, I personally have never been able to understand why any thinking person would believe the Conservatives would act in your interests. Anyone with needs in this country who has been disadvantaged in recent years can attest to this. And anyone who would vote Conservative on an 'I'm alright Jack' basis (and I would add, that could include me) should be ashamed of themselves.

Xenia · 07/12/2019 07:35

But I have clearly said I support the NHS as do most Tories. My father and sibling were/are NHS doctors. I am not against the NHS. The Conservative party is very pro NHS too even if Labour try to suggest otherwise.
