I take DS to swimming. I got the times wrong turned up for the wrong lesson. I decide to go back to the changing room to wait. I find it hard to breath in the pool area, 30 minutes is ok, an hour and I can feel my asthma begin to act up.

There is a dad there getting his daughters dressed (fine) he was in the pool and he's down to his underwear.

Another dad arrives with his son, him and my DS are in the same lesson.

Anyways dad of daughters decides to get dressed... he drops his pants and is stark naked in front of his daughters. He is also by the door so if another parent was coming in their child would have walked into his penis! And it wasn't less than a minute because he was drying himself as well 🤢...

There are cubicles. He could have used a towel as well.

Why would and adult choose to get naked in a dressing room at a swim lesson for children with strangers around.

AIBU to find it bizarre?

His bum was also hairy and unattractive 🤢.

So... you, a female, goes into a male change room, where men are getting changed (the very purpose of the room) and you are offended that you saw a penis and decided to body shame his "hairy and unattractive bum".

He wasn't there to be judged by you as to whether he was attractive to you or not, he was there to get changed and by the sounds of it, be a good dad and be involved in his kid's lives by taking them to swimming lessons or the pool.

Get out of the men's room. I bet you would be the first to call the police if a man wandered into the women's changing room and just sat there, judging whether your bum was attractive or not.

I am an Expat British, now in Australia, and Guess what, there are such things as Males in the male changing rooms.

The Original poster even tries to justify herself going in to the male change rooms, by saying "its okay, they are never used".

What about taking Son in to the Womens change room ?, nope, That I guess is not okay, Its okay son, I'll come in to the MALE change rooms with you, its okay, there are never any grown up Males in the MALE change rooms.......

Immediately upset there is an adult male with all his glory hanging out. Come to Australia, guess what, Adult males usually go to the MALE change rooms. guess what, Female children under the age of 5 are allowed in Male Change rooms. .

open group changing area, open group showers. The only cubicles are the toilets.

Males don't care about other males being naked in the change rooms. It is not like we take half an hour to compare sizes or anything, we just go in, have a shower, get dry, get dressed, go home.

This is utterly absurd. Can you imagine the uproar at a man being in a womans changing room to begin with, let alone complaining that a woman had her boobs out? Now I dont know how it works in womens change rooms, but generally in mens nudity is completely normal.. You know, because its a CHANGE ROOM. The entire point of there being different change rooms for men and women is because of nudity FFS.

Naked man in men's changing rooms? Hello. Captain Obvious. Men's rights are being eroded all over the place but the right to be naked in the men's room is still well and truly in place.

I joined just now for the sole reason of calling out the whole cultural differences excuse. My mother is Asian, was forbidden from going to school because she was a girl by her parents, couldn't read and didn't speak a word of English when she moved to the States to be with my dad and she still understood that she had to use the ladies and not the men's. My mom also chased trick or treaters away from her home yelling that they were bad kids the first time they knocked. So no to the really bad cultural differences excuse.

A man walking into a female changing room would be reported to management as a peeping tom. She tries to justify her perversion by stating a father helping his daughters change and the changing himself in a private place is some how wrong.

She should not have been there regardless of her excuses and is lucky the father who’s bum and tackle she looked at did not feel it was necessary to report her, probably because he thought she was a mother who needed to change her kids and did not want to make a big deal and give his kids a poor impression of their own bodies and his.

The fact that she rants about it on here, stating he had a hairy bum. Tells me she was hoping to see what she thought was an attractive man naked and unfortunately this man did not fit her perversion

@SandraMBW understand your point. Most men would not care that your mother accidentally walked into a men’s room because she could not identify the men’s room and women’s room difference. However unlike your mother who would have probably made a hasty obvious exit, like most normal people going into the wrong change room.

This woman deliberately went into the men’s room and stay their for 1/2 hr while men were trying to get changed.

This is not a question of culture and from this women’s initial avoidance of explaining she was in the men’s room, the disappointment of a hairy male bum and the transparent attempt to use her kids and others as a excuse to be in a private male changing room only points that she knows she is in the wrong and trying to justify her behaviour by blaming a father looking after his young kids and then reasonably changing himself. Just because he did not have a smooth bum as it sounds like she wanted does not mean she should be excused for perving in a men’s change room. Else if you think it is ok, then you must be acknowledging that it would be ok for a man to go into a women’s change room for 1/2 hr with his kids and complain that a women was changing and did not have a good enough body, pretty poor excuse either way

@pinkboa you went into a men’s changing room for a period of time that was inappropriate. There did not appear to be any extenuating circumstances, like your son having a melt down and insisting on going to the men’s. Just that you felt like going in because it maybe was free.

You are now trying to body shame a father who is looking after his daughters and then changing himself.

It is a little ridiculous that you thought it was ok to go and perv in males change room and then get upset that the men they did not conform to your standards

The comments on feeling uncomfortable that a fathers children could see him naked while changing, implying a father is a pedophile and then trying to justify your predilections by trying to paint something innocent and play on people’s fears is completely inappropriate and pretty disgusting.

Absolutely unacceptable and very inappropriate. He should have used a cubicle. Maybe some women on here don't care, but a lot would have felt very uncomfortable, especially around their children. My dds would have been extremely embarrassed.

That said, if it was the men's changing room, he wasn't behaving inappropriately. You shouldn't have gone in there in the first place.

So to clarify. YABU for going into the mens' changing room and then complaining about men being in there, and furthermore being mean about his bum. You left out the important detail that YOU were in the wrong place in your OP. Naughty of you. Not all of us have time to read 32 pages to find out the tiny but significant details, you know.

Not in a million years. I thought she was in a unisex area with lots of available cubicles when I posted first. Why would a grown woman go into the mens' in the first place? Last place I'd want to go. I'd rather take my chances in the busy one than end up seeing random penises, thank you.

As a male, can I ask this? What would your reaction be if you were naked in the female dressing room, when a man walked in with his children? Further, how would you react if said man then went on line to describe his impression of your bare bum to the whole world? You have no right to enter the male shed, no right to complain if you do, no right to stare at naked men in there, and no right to broadcast what you saw.

I would never be in a female dressing room because it does not appeal to me ... but if I were I would scream loudly because men should not be in a female dressing room and I would think they were probably a pervert or a peeping tom etc. Women can get away with stuff unlike poor men

So the woman who took her son into the MALE changing rooms was shocked to see a grown man changing and dropping his shorts? The woman has a son - she has seen (and felt) a male 'member' before. If her son was so YOUNG, why did she not take him into the female changing rooms - like the father took his girls into the male rooms?
