To shave down there for my partners sake

Loneranger14 · 18/11/2019 23:18

I used to always fully shave down there but now been mid 30s and 4 DC later I go all natural, my OH told me last night to shave downstairs I carnt even go to the toilet without having 1 of my DC clinging to my leg never mind a bit of me time, he said he doesn't like it and wants me to shave but to be honest I really don't care and haven't got time and it doesn't bother me. So I guess my question is aibu to not give in to his request

Okay keep your hair on. Ha ha! Funny.

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 00:00

Can't do right for doing wrong here. Didn't see that it was a lady's only discussion. Carry on girls. Am off to bed.

BestOption · 19/11/2019 00:04

@Yappy12. Ignore the rude posters. Despite what some posters think, its perfectly fine to be a bloke and have an opinion, even on MN!

@Loneranger14. He ‘told’ you to get shaved down there? I’d tell him it’s not going to make any difference to him , because with an attitude like that he wont be getting close enough for it to matter. Asking is one thing, TELLING is another.

SevenStones · 19/11/2019 00:04

Do what you want OP, it's totally your choice, not your partner's.

I don't like having a hairy bush so I use a beard trimmer. It leaves it feeling soft and downy and is easy to maintain. I quite like being bare, but the hassle means it never happens these days. I've no partner, so all done for myself.

I've sucked cock with accompanying no hair, trimmed hair and full bush. I always seemed to get a mouthful of pubes with full pube cover!

If your just doing pretty vanilla stuff then tell him to jog on but if you expect oral he will end up gagging on your pubes

Utter horseshit.

BestOption · 19/11/2019 00:09

@whineup

Did I miss the memo where you were made ‘Boss of Mumsnet’?

Wind you neck in. @yappy12 has as much right to post his opinion as you do yours and the personal attack on his character was bang out of order.

@BestOption, I think it's clear I didn't mean the entire body, I just didn't want to use the wrong term and upset anyone. Don't be so ridiculously obtuse. Is there a reason you think women should shave 'down there'? The male/porno preference of a full clean shave totally infantilizes women and frankly, it's disgusting.

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 00:11

@Wearywithteens.

No am not a perv at all. Just thought I'd say that not all blokes like shaved but I know a lot do.

notangelinajolie · 19/11/2019 00:11

Tell him to bugger off. Shaved down there's are for women in porn films - clearly he's been watching too many.

flobonobo · 19/11/2019 00:11

God almighty!

Dramatic to say you always have a child’s attached to your leg. You don’t!

Shave if you want. I do. Doesn’t affect my feminism!

MummytoCSJH · 19/11/2019 00:13

I'm going to leave my last reply with: it's your body, your choice, not his. I suppose that's what it boils down to more than anything else. If you don't want to - because you don't like it, or even just can't be bothered - then don't. It's not his decision, YANBU.

Yappy12 · 19/11/2019 00:14

@BestOption.

Thanks. Appreciated.

HairyTrotter · 19/11/2019 00:15

Actually I think @yappy12 is making an important point that not all men are bothered. Young women should know that it's not that important to most men and to do what they want.

HairyTrotter · 19/11/2019 00:15

Not to say that they should care what any man thinks!

ViciousJackdaw · 19/11/2019 00:19

Shaved down there's are for women in porn films

I've got one of those and for the life of me, I cannot recall having ever been in a porno. Granted, I'm peri and my memory isn't what it used to be but I reckon I'd remember having starred in Dirty Birds 3.

prawnsword · 19/11/2019 00:21

body hair is a personal thing, however many women would arguably prefer their husband’s chest hair or head hair to look a certain way...we all have preferences.

I personally shave the lips, thighs & undercarriage & leave a nice neat triangle up the top. So it’s womanly & also tidy. I personally prefer the look & feel of it this way

If you shave with quality razor & don’t go against the hair in growns/infections are way less of an issue

I would never wax down there again. To me that is painful torture. Shaving my underarms, legs & privates is part of my self care routine, whether am in a relaifonship or not.

It has nothing to do with conforming & I do forget to do it & it grows back.... but if I let it go will grow public hairs on my thighs / o raise bikini line & that is just not a good look .

Beveren · 19/11/2019 00:21

Tell him to wax his genitalia and all body hair, preferably slowly.

Summercat · 19/11/2019 00:24

@Yappy12

Ignore the people being rude to you on here.

You are entitled to your opinion and entitled to post. Smile

Some women just go nuclear if a man comes on here and dares to give an opinion. No matter what you said, it would be 'wrong.' Wink

WhatsInAName19 · 19/11/2019 00:25

I don't agree that there's no relevance to the looking like a prepubescent child thing. To my mind it's not a coincidence that porn sites are full of hairless vulvas and videos labelled "barely legal", "teens", "schoolgirls" etc. Obviously removing your body hair or suffering alopecia doesn't make you actually look like a child. But that doesn't rule out this porn industry-led trend involving an amount of imitation of the very young female body.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 19/11/2019 00:26

I prefer to get rid of all of mine
When my younger 2 were little I couldn't be arsed with shaving or sex tbh
All the men I've slept with have been shaved or trimmed really short, it's a preference. I don't want to go down on a load of hair . Nothing to do with porn and I'm in my 40s

Each to their own

ClaraThePigeon · 19/11/2019 00:29

So it’s womanly

Does it sprout a penis if you don't?

LucieLucie · 19/11/2019 00:30

This is EXACTLY why men get less sex imo.

Not just the tiredness and kids but the feeling that unless you are smooth down there he won't be happy.

Sad but true.

Men, if you want more sex stop pressuring women into this. Upkeep is constant. Sod that.
