To hate Hermes

Anyone else having issues with this shambles of a company?

I had an item from foot asylum due to be delivered yesterday. First email received from Hermes at 10.20am confirming they have the item and it will be delivered between 2 and 4pm. Another email came at 11.20am saying that the item had been successfully delivered to me at my address and they supposedly have my signature which is just a bloody scribble and definitely is not my signature.

I was at home all day and delivery was not attempted.

It is impossible to speak to anyone at hermes so I spoke to foot asylum and I now have to wait for a dispute form to be sent to me that I then have to complete and wait for them to claim against Hermes.

So pissed off

The plot thickens. Just received a text saying Hermes will attempt my foot asylum delivery this afternoon!

What on earth are they actually doing!!!

The excitement of your parcel actually being delivered by Hermes always outweighs the excitement of what's in the parcel. 😞 My parcel arrived on Saturday day night. Despite being out for delivery with the local courier since Wednesday morning. Do Hermes drivers use technology to pinpoint addresses or old fashioned paper maps I wonder?

Charlottejade89 · 18/11/2019 15:29

My local hermes driver is usually really good, I always get my parcels on the day and time they say but he does still always sign my name before I've answered the door. However, he has recently started to try and open my door before knocking. If I'm at home with the baby on my own I always lock the door, but last week my partner was here as well and door wasnt locked. He saw the guy open the door and fling the parcel inside without even knocking and he went nuts. My partner is a delivery driver himself (for Ao) and said they tell you in your training that you are not to open people's doors under any circumstances because you arent insured. Tried to make a complaint to hermes and as lots of pps say, cant speak to an actual person

Grin I find this pretty accurate. We now give a few jeers as we pass their trucks on the motorway, because honestly, I can't communicate with them any other way.

I hate them. My last package from
Amazon was to be delivered by Hermes. Got an email to say it was delayed and they were working with the courier to locate my package and it would be with me in a week.

Amazon being amazon when I complained sent another one out. Lo and behold, that one went missing and the original one turned up the next day. Second parcel then turned up the next day too but Hermes refused for me to reject it and Amazon refused to get someone to collect it insisting I had to return it to a depot myself as it was too big for them to collect it, despite them being able to deliver it. Needless to say I still have the second item!

Juicyfrooty · 18/11/2019 17:01

So they delivered it to my locked porch apparently, the attached picture the courier took actually shows the ripped open package sitting on my front door step in clear view of my very busy street. It wasn't there by the time I got home needless to say.

They are beyond useless!

I opened a case for my missing bike.

It turned up today. At my mums house (that’s where they collected it from) in a totally different box, bits of the bike sticking out the box, my returns paperwork missing!!!

So my mum refused delivery (given that they have been paid to deliver it back to the bike shop) and they carted it off again!!

I don’t get a refund unless it’s in full restaurants condition (which it obviously isn’t now!!)

And I still don’t know where it is!!

I am BEYOND raging

Minikievs · 18/11/2019 20:57

Full RESALEABLE condition Grin

Lhastingsmua · 18/11/2019 21:08

The photo that the courier uploaded is hilarious. If anything, it’s just proof for you when you complain to the retailer - realistically they should resend it (hopefully with another courier company) immediately or just refund you.

TurquoiseDress · 18/11/2019 21:10

YANBU

Hermes are totally fucking dire

fairybeagle · 18/11/2019 21:11

YANBU - worst company ever! One of their drivers stole a jumperoo I was sending to my brother. It was so expensive and they refused to pay a full refund and barely apologised. The worst.

PhilSwagielka · 18/11/2019 22:21

My auntie absolutely hates Hermes. Whenever they've delivered stuff for her, their courier always chucks stuff over the gate, and some of the parcels she's thrown over the gate have had things like beer bottles or laptops in them, and of course they got broken. One even had someone's homemade art in it, though at least the artist wrapped it so well that it remained undamaged. My auntie's complained about the courier but Hermes won't do anything. They suck.

GladAllOver · 19/11/2019 10:30

Like in most companies, staff tend to behave the way they are treated. I'm told by our local delivery person that they are not treated well.

Youngatheart00 · 19/11/2019 10:42

Horrendous tales here. Really puts me off online shopping. Once you’ve paid for delivery and then gone through the sheer inconvenience of trying to get the items successfully delivered, its often just not worth it.

A recent amazon order containing books for my Dad’s birthday was left ‘in greenhouse’. I was in at the time the delivery was attempted. I don’t have a greenhouse. The package was dumped in a bush in my front garden in the pouring rain. The items were ruined.

Youngatheart00 · 19/11/2019 10:43

And I accept the point re poor wages, conditions etc. But there is still HUMAN DECENCY and standards, whatever your job. Some of the tales of downright negligence and in some cases malice are astounding. I’m afraid such individuals don’t deserve to be employed.

HuggedTrees · 19/11/2019 10:52

Item said delivered, I said I wasn’t in the country and the only other people at that address were sitting next to me and forging my signature was illegal.
My driver himself is lovely but it must be company policy to fake your signature and leave on the doorstep. They must he told to do so

Youngatheart00 · 19/11/2019 11:11

Isn’t forgery of signature illegal??

anoyedone · 19/11/2019 11:18

To say i am angry is mild , I need to get this message out there HERMES
PARCEL delivery are a sham con waste of time in the main.........
I sent 3 parcels on the 28th October 2019 2 got delivered one did not
The most important one my family photos approx 300/600 over 40 years lost family members some who have died .I have contacted hermes parcels only to get the run around could not give a flying F##k
i need help to get them to locate these photos the last place scanned in Weybridge depot surrey any ideas to get them looking my next stop facebok them papers then who knows camp out at the head quarters !!!!! it has to be somewhere

Juicyfrooty · 19/11/2019 11:46

anoyedone what worked for me in getting my refund was writing reviews and comments where their other customers would see them, Facebook, Twitter, trust pilot etc. That was for the retailer though, Hermes themselves seem to be impossible to shame, they seem to genuinely not give a monkeys about their reputation, it's a miracle they are still in business

OP posts:
safariboot · 19/11/2019 13:19

But there is still HUMAN DECENCY and standards, whatever your job.

In my experience it doesn't matter what the job is. When management sets "targets", especially when these are pretty much unreachable, all employees care about is the targets. Decency, standards, good service and even obeying the law go out of the window.

So I blame the Hermes management a lot more than the front-line employees.

lotusbell · 20/11/2019 19:03

Got my Hermes parcel from one company no issues but my Gap one didnt turn up. Annoyingly, Gap have automatically refunded me for the full order and said I can re order it and they'll waiver the delivery charge, but my original order was from a recent 50% off offer and one item isnt available so with their current 35% offer, I'd be paying similar for less so I'm not bothering. I'm glad Gap have been.so helpful but I didnt want a refund, I want my order! So frustrating!

Justmuddlingalong · 29/11/2019 15:48

AAARRRGGHHHH!! Today's parcel arrived on time. Hallelujah.
Unfortunately, the proof of delivery photo shows it's been left on the front doorstep, in plain view of the street, at someone elses house. Fucking, useless arseholes that they are.

iloveredwine · 29/11/2019 15:54

ive got this exact issue. Waiting on a parcel from footlocker that was supposed to be here before 1pm today by hermes. live chat is busy Aparently!

Justmuddlingalong · 29/11/2019 16:00

I've got onto Next rather than Hermes, who are nigh on impossible to contact and the live chat is useless anyway. Next have resent the order. Presumably it'll be delivered by the same courier to the same wrong address. Bloody madness.
