Anyone else having issues with this shambles of a company?

I had an item from foot asylum due to be delivered yesterday. First email received from Hermes at 10.20am confirming they have the item and it will be delivered between 2 and 4pm. Another email came at 11.20am saying that the item had been successfully delivered to me at my address and they supposedly have my signature which is just a bloody scribble and definitely is not my signature.

I was at home all day and delivery was not attempted.

It is impossible to speak to anyone at hermes so I spoke to foot asylum and I now have to wait for a dispute form to be sent to me that I then have to complete and wait for them to claim against Hermes.

So pissed off

Its ridiculous isn't it, its foot asylum so a decent sized company with a large online presence. This is the email they sent me...

Charming.

user1471453601 · 17/11/2019 19:19

Hermes is only as good as your local deliverer. The two who deliver to me are great.

Please don't paint all of them with th same brush

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 17/11/2019 19:22

Should point out its not the delivery driver i have an issue with...these things happen

Its the fucking useless website!!!

RufusthebewiIderedreindeer · 17/11/2019 19:24

Well they must have changed them because this was all automated answers. It literally ended the chat with a message along the line of sorry help ends here please contact your retailer. The phone line just has a pre recorded message saying to use the live chat so you just get no where

This

Completely and utterly

Nanna50 · 17/11/2019 19:24

For some reason I do believe that @Maxfactoid's delivery drivers are more intelligent than she gives them credit for. All those messed up deliveries Wink

quickkimchi · 17/11/2019 19:52

Maybe pp have said this already but often Hermes is the free delivery option and if you pay for delivery it will come a different/better way. It may tell you on the 'delivery' page if you can upgrade by paying or you may have to contact the retailer to find out. RM and DPD are great for us, Hermes are abysmal, so now I choose to pay for delivery if that means they'll be sent a better way.

If you have the option, I would only complain via email to Hermes (I've pursued several lost deliveries, and they never resolve them) and cc the retailer. Hang onto the emails. Ime even if no one does anything about it initially, if you contact the company after a few weeks pointing out that nothing has been done they'll refund you. Last Christmas it was the last straw, Hermes lost about three deliveries and they were all refunded.

I hate using them because the service is rubbish, but also because they're exploitative.

otterturk · 17/11/2019 19:53

I didn't realise they did deliveries. The scarves are lovely, if not a little dear.

lotusbell · 17/11/2019 19:57

Never actually had a real problem with Hermes but I think I'm about to. Waiting on a Gap delivery, never had an issue before but got this when I log on to track. They've always left parcel on back doorstep or under a bush previously. If it doesn't turn up tomorrow, I'm going to have to get in touch Angry

RumbleDoll · 17/11/2019 20:23

Have just chatted with a human from Hermes.Getting a refund, at last. Will not buy from anyone using them as couriers in future.

Jojo19834 · 17/11/2019 20:29

They are awful but don’t care. You hear countless stories of missing parcels that have been signed for. I was in one day, delivery came and I offered to sign for it but was told not to worry. Looked online 2 minutes later and there was a squiggle for a signature that the driver had forged. How can they ever prove delivery of drivers are forging signatures?! I avoid any company that uses them now as I do not want to go through the hassle like many others. DPD on the other hand are great, can choose you options and have a one hour slot

Petrichor11 · 17/11/2019 20:36

I will absolutely call my local Hermes driver a lying lazy bastard, after he twice claimed to have attempted a delivery while I was home and knew full well he hadn’t been anywhere near the building! And when he did eventually bother to do the job he’s paid to do, they sent me a gps tracking to prove he had been there. Shows they clearly have the ability to know when their drivers are lying bastards, but the even bigger dicks in charge just don’t give a shit, so the liars go on lying. Awful company to try to deal with!

Arthur2shedsJackson · 17/11/2019 20:39

Grandma21 - can you please share the names of companies who use Hermes so we can all avoid?

Arthur2shedsJackson · 17/11/2019 20:41

So sorry - I meant Grandma 2901

stuffedpeppers · 17/11/2019 20:42

Herpes - !!!
2 yrs ago - had parcels to return - big ones - they had delivered to wrong address. Same courier who delivered them, turned up to pick them up - and I quote - "I'm not taking them, they know I only do small parcels"

"but you delivered them"- said I

"Not my bloody problem" and stormed off.

18 months later - deliveries stop completely. Get a text message to say with courier being delivered between x and x. Go online to track and says unable to deliver - returned to depot - with me sitting in the house - so no way they did.

After their bloody phone system battle - finally speak to really nice lady - who advises me the courier refuses to deliver to my house because of previous incident. ( can only assume was that one 18 months before)

Next door neightbour (OAPS) offer so I put their address on - all good for a few months and then bang - they click it is for me and have now started to refuse to deliver to my neighbour. Now had to change my name to get anything delivered.

If I had sworn at the courier then fine but I did not - I was sworn at and now said person is intefering with my post.

Bloody night mare -wish all websites would say which courier company or give the option of collect - but they do not.

JewelleryQuarter · 17/11/2019 20:56

I have the same feelings about this company OP - they are bloody awful. My delivery driver is also rather obnoxious

Kravarza · 17/11/2019 21:52

Grrrrrrrr, don't get me started. Thanks to myhermes lying about delivery my Amazon account is under serveilance, due to having to get so many refunds. Well I set them up!! Placed an order and installed a camera in my peep hole and waited. The guy arrived, scribbled my signature, didn't even knock on my door and walked off with my parcel in his hand. Got him bang to rights. Apparently their investigating it...... awful company. Whenever you order contact myhermes first and tell them about your previous experience and that you will be waiting by the door for your delivery. If they don't arrive call them again. If you don't get your parcel at all, call them again.

PumpkinPie2016 · 17/11/2019 22:03

I had an issue with them recently, but, to be fair, it wasn't entirely their fault.

Ordered something from H&M and realised that they had somehow got my address wrong. I called them and they said, wait until it shows as ready for dispatch and then ring back. I did and they said they would send a message to Hermes (lady did it while I was on the line).

Only, I then get a message from Hermes saying they can't deliver as the address wasn't correct so they either didn't get the message or didn't read it!

The main issue I had with Hermes is that you cannot speak to anyone -you call up and get this stupid automated answering machine but absolutely no option to speak to someone. No details of local courier. No web chat or even email address! Very shoddy in my opinion.

Mags0407 · 18/11/2019 12:27

Hermes are the worst for delivery and can’t get to speak to anyone to complain.....I was returning two garden chairs and had problems with them picking up the parcel and because they disputed the size, they took another extra £10. This was just the start of my problems with this disgusting company, in short they: they said they had delivered the parcel to the recipient, they hadn’t, they them delivered the parcel back to my home, my husband refused to accept it and said the parcel which had been well wrapped was battered and in a right state, I contacted the recipient and they still had not received it, when I contacted Hermes via email I was told the parcel had not been returned to them and was lost in transit and to fill in a form, at this point I’d had enough and would rather take the loss than have to deal with firm.....

Juicyfrooty · 18/11/2019 12:59

I'm getting more and more pissed off with foot asylum as well. Just constant 'we have to follow procedure' responses. No effort to actually make the procedures more straightforward and quick.

OP posts:
Juicyfrooty · 18/11/2019 13:31

Yay! My persistence and comments on every social media platform and review site I could find have paid off. Foot asylum are refunding me, turns out they dont have to 'follow procedures' after all

Ugh I'm having this exact issue with Hermes at the moment. Ordered a coat from Boohoo. Tracking on Saturday said they had the parcel and it would be out for delivery shortly. It has sat as "delayed, will update in 24 hours" since then. I navigated their (awful) online chat system and the man eventuallys aid that yeah, they have essentially lost my package but they will do a "sweep" of the depot, and update me in 48-72 hours on whether they have managed to hunt it down.

I contact Boohoo who said I need to wait 72 hours and contact them again before they will look into the matter. I did ask Boohoo why they use such a terrible courier service, and highlighted that their Twitter is literally full of Hermes complaints. Funnily enough, they didn't respond to that question...

nevermorelenore · 18/11/2019 14:32

Hermes has been ok in my area. We have a nice local courier who knows us and is friendly.

God help you if you order furniture online and it comes through Arrow XL. You book the day online, but can only do so with a few days of notice, and they don’t tell you the exact spot until the day before. If that slot is no good then it’s tough shit, you go through the entire system again. Even as someone who works from home it was frustrating. And they never actually show up in the allotted time anyway.

Basically if you’re someone who can take an entire day off at short notice and sit by the front door not blinking in case you miss them, then yes, you’ll be fine.

Dontrainonmyparade · 18/11/2019 14:36

Urgh. Hermes.

When I do get my parcels (which isn’t as often as I’d expect/hope) they’re usually
‘In the black bin’
AKA in my general rubbish wheelie bin. So I have to fish it out of the smelly, grubby bin, usually with some kind of tomato based sauce on it. Assuming I can reach it in the first place. I can’t stand doing that, of all the places WHY the rubbish bin? I have nice neighbours and an unlocked garage ffs.
