To be absolutely livid with Amazon for this

I am not really AIBU as I know I am not but I need to vent.

I ordered an Occulus Virtual reality gift set for Christmas via Amazon Prime. It arrived yesterday or rather it didn't. My DD BF accepted delivery and the driver asked him to open the package as he said it was a delayed delivery and he needed to check what was inside it!

My DDs BF didn't know what I had ordered, just that I was expecting a delivery...Anyway just come back from a weeked away to discover instead of my £400 gift it was 3 bags of sugar! I am going to send it back but wont they query 3 bags of sugar when the label says its an Occulus headset!

I am so cross and holding on the line to them.

Why would the driver insist it was opened and do you think he has taken it and substituted it for the sugar!

Ooops zombie. Well I’ll never get any answers now.

You need to look up how an Amazon refund scam works. It sounds like he’s put you in the middle of one and taken the goods, and got you a refund, therefore in his mind it’s a victimless crime.

Jenasaurus · 03/04/2020 02:01

Yes I got a refund

but you have got it all wrong, i am mentioned in the article and went on to have several other packages arrive with various items in them that werent what I had ordered and was witnessed opening them. Amazon admitted it was them at fault.

@Cissyandflora Wrong! As OP has already cleared up, Amazon ADMITTED it was their mistake Hmm

HavenDilemma · 03/04/2020 02:14

@ThatssomebadhatHarry @lauryloo I hope you two feel pretty ashamed right now.

Yes it's a zombie thread but OP has just returned to confirm that Amazon too responsibility.

"Amazon are contacting police...do you have anything to say."

Unbelievable that anyone would say that to someone without any proof whatsoever. Saying the above would've potentially destroyed OP's DD's relationship HmmHmmHmm

lauryloo · 03/04/2020 08:30

Not ashamed at all. Got much bigger fish to fry atm rather than worrying about a post I made on a thread on mumsnet several months ago, that was much the same as most other comments tbh, so not sure why I was singled out. But whatever gets you through the day @HavenDilemma
