Jeremy Corbyn

I see so many posters saying they won’t vote for Labour as they don’t like Jeremy Corbyn - why? If the Labour policies are good then why not vote for those rather than the leader?

Please, stop teasing me! I don’t think I can take many more LOLs!

You sound a bit unhinged, are you unwell?

Objecting to Isreali treatment of Palestinians is not tantamount to antisemitism.

if there's any evidence of actual antisemitism, I'm still waiting to see it..

CendrillonSings · 04/11/2019 15:01

Try reading? Or do you think the Jewish Labour Movement, who campaigned for Attlee and Foot but can’t tolerate the antisemitism under Corbyn, are liars?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/11/2019 15:02

both parties are planning a return to public spending levels not seen since the 70s

No, both parties are suggesting their bounty will be breathtaking - but since when did politicians' promises in the run up to an election have anything to do with reality?

They're quick to promise, but even quicker once elected to insist that such-and-such is a "firm aim" which is absolutely going to happen - but just not yet

Or to put it another way, politicians lie ... who knew?

JustAnotherPoster00 · 04/11/2019 15:05

because of the culture of anti-Jewish hate that had been “allowed to fester at all levels” since Corbyn became leader.

That “Labour antisemitism crisis” in numbers…

Now you mention it, I do feel a bit odd. It must be from laughing so much!

Interesting to see certain posters usually shouting as loudly as possible on any thread about racism being so rude and dismissive when the victims of the racism are Jews.

Btw there has been plenty of evidence shared about Corbyn's anti-Semitism and much of it has nothing to do with Israel. Unless you think praising Holocaust deniers is fine and dandy?

JustAnotherPoster00 · 04/11/2019 15:20

Who's the holocaust denier? Do you have a name so I can do my own research?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/11/2019 15:36

It's always the same, Glitch; ditto the insistence that anyone who fails to challenge racism is effectively an enabler - except, it seems, when it's a favoured politician. You'd think if a principle's worth having that it would be worth applying it to all, but sadly it often doesn't work like that

Best not to get drawn in really

bellinisurge · 04/11/2019 15:58

It would appear some posters can't imagine Corbyn ever making a bad call or exercising poor judgment. Also, they believe that he rather than Mo Mowlem was responsible for the peace process in NI because they are too young, too naive and prefer the word of living liars (Corbynistas regularly peddle this bollocks) to the work of a dead woman.

Alsohuman · 04/11/2019 16:17

@Puzzledandpissedoff, the point still stands. The Tories are no longer portraying themselves as the party of fiscal prudence.

GlitchStitch · 04/11/2019 16:31

Paul Eisen is a Holocaust denier with whom Corbyn is closely associated. Raed Salah is someone who perpetuates the 'blood libel' and Corbyn has heaped praise on him and blamed Jews for his expulsion from the UK.

This thread is a good starting point, further research of some of these names shows what Corbyn is.

GlitchStitch · 04/11/2019 16:33

Just to clarify- Corbyn called a man who publicly claims that Jews use the blood of Christian children to bake bread 'an honoured citizen'. But sure, it's just legitimate criticism of Israel Hmm

JustAnotherPoster00 · 04/11/2019 16:36

Can you not tell us who that is?

JustAnotherPoster00 · 04/11/2019 16:37

A sorry cross post I'll go nd have a look

JustAnotherPoster00 · 04/11/2019 16:37

I'll use my own sources thank you

Youngatheart00 · 04/11/2019 16:48

Some of the judgements on here are very polarising too. It seems if you’re not a Corbyn fan you MUST by default be a Tory AND also not give a sh!t about others.

When in fact he is the worst thing to happen to Labour in its history, an extremely weak leader and politician, and if he cared about the Party at all he would resign and let it become a constructive and credible opposition.

Labour should be wiping the floor with the Tories right now and IMHO it’s Corbyn’s fault they’re not.

CendrillonSings · 04/11/2019 16:50

I'll use my own sources thank you

I’m sure The Canary and Skwawkbox will lead you to the conclusions you’ve already formed... Grin

BertrandRussell · 04/11/2019 16:58

“ Labour should be wiping the floor with the Tories right now and IMHO it’s Corbyn’s fault they’re not.”

I agree. Which is why the other parties are playing the man and not the policies.

CendrillonSings · 04/11/2019 17:12

No, the policies are also a pile of far-left toss. Corbyn is just the rotten cherry on top.

Alsohuman · 04/11/2019 17:18

The policies are excellent which is why many people will hold their noses @CendrillonSings.

Thesuzle · 04/11/2019 17:22

I don’t want to live in a country that’s reduced to a similar state as Venazuala

CendrillonSings · 04/11/2019 17:26

The policies are excellent which is why many people will hold their noses

People generally only hold their noses when approaching a dungheap, so I’m glad the reality of the Labour Party has filtered through to you that far. Smile

As for authoritarian socialist policies being “excellent”, well, we’ll have to agree to differ!

Alsohuman · 04/11/2019 17:27

Oh God, you sound just like my husband @Thesuzle! That’s like me saying I don’t want to live in a Tory led country that’s like Nazi Germany. Pure melodrama.

CendrillonSings · 04/11/2019 17:33

Except that Corbyn himself used to champion Venezuela as a model of what popular socialism can achieve ... until it became the reality of what socialism achieves!
