Apologies if there’s already a thread on this - I did look and couldn’t find one.

So now it’s been confirmed that we’re having a GE in December, how are you voting? And what are your predictions on the results?

I’ve seen quite a few posts on here over the past couple months from people saying they wouldn’t vote now as they are politically homeless - wondering if these people still feel that way?

I’m voting labour - albeit in a very safe Tory area (so feel very much as though my vote doesn’t count). Reasons being I would never vote Tory and I don’t like a lot of what the Lim Dems have said recently. I also couldn’t bring myself not to vote at all.

You make Corbyn sound like the second coming.

StoutDrinker2019 · 31/10/2019 18:49

Green party. Then I'm moving to scotland so myself and my family can go back into the EU.

Mammajay · 31/10/2019 18:52

Happydays I agree entirely

crowisland · 31/10/2019 18:56

I don't mean to insult anyone on the list, but I don't understand how anyone with a moral compass can vote for Tory/Borishe's a proven liar over and over, from his days as a confabulating 'journalist,' to when he manipulated the British public with outright lies at the Brexit vote and is interested only in enhancing his ego and blind ambition. He has no moral spine, no beliefs other than his Oxbridge one-upmanship games with other elites, whereas though i personally do not like Corbyn, at least he has had consistent belief systems and values, unlike Boris. Brexit ultimately will destroy much that is positive about the UK, has already shattered the UK image throughout the world, and has made us a laughing stockwith good reason

CharlesRiver · 31/10/2019 18:59

BoJo and his cronies lied three years ago, David Cameron ran away and betrayed the Queens confidence, Jacob Rees-Mogg sleeps around in parliament and teaches his staff how to speak English shall I go on? I will...

Jezza did not do right in the Anti-semitism row and quite frankly has sat on the fence all this while not giving clear direction....

Jo Swinson’s earings do my head in....

SNP are bold but I don’t live in Scotland so...

Who to vote?? No idea, nuff said. It’s nearly Christmas...yay!!

Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 19:00

People who hate him rarely can name any policies that they dislike, and trot out the MSM smears as if they had researched and thought of them themselves

So true. When you ask someone why they "could never vote for Corbyn" or "they despise Corbyn" you always get told he's an anti-Semite or a terrorist sympathiser. These are smears with no evidence. He speaks up for Palestine and he worked hard to help with the peace process in NI which involved meeting IRA members. That's it.

I can tell you exactly why I wouldn't vote for Boris Johnson.

  1. he changes his opinion to suit his career (once a remainer now a brexiteer)
  2. he did a poor job as London mayor with a lot of wasted money
  3. he has condemned Nazanin zhagari-radcliffe to extra years in prison
  4. he made racist remarks about black people
  5. he made racist remarks about Muslims
  6. he uses misogynistic and homophobic language (big girls blouse, girly swot etc)
  7. he has been involved in meeting with the USA RE our NHS.
  8. he was responsible for THAT bus
  9. he has no interest in climate change as proven by him hiring a fracking expert to write his manifesto
  10. he is part of the government that introduced universal credit, cut public services, cut 21000 police and cut funding for the NHS
  11. he has been accused of sexually inappropriate behaviour with females (groping)
  12. on many occasions I have seen him make statements to the press that have turned out to be complete lies and he doesn't apologise

I could go on. These are actual reasons which I could back up with evidence. Can Corbyn haters do the same please because I am happy to be proved wrong with actual evidence.

SilverySurfer · 31/10/2019 19:05

Typical hysteria from lefties. I'm encouraged to see so many saying they will vote for the Conservatives, frankly the alternatives are risible.

Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 19:09

"ElleDubloo* they receive funding Fram fracking and haven't signed up to the same green pledge as labour, under the coalition the NHS government was cut
Yes they claim to be green and love the NHS but their record speaks for itself.

Labour's green new deal will ensure we are carbon neutral by 2030. The funding for the NHS is always highest when labour are in power and was extremely low at the only time in recent history that LDs had any say so. Remember LD could form a coalition again. They can't win on their own.

How are you voting in December?
Sunshine93 · 31/10/2019 19:10

Great argument there @SilverySurfer

64py · 31/10/2019 19:12

labour we cant possibly have more of the foodbanks, homelessness, savage cuts to our NHS & care services Tories have inflicted on us .Boris is a liar and charlatan

BunsyGirl · 31/10/2019 19:12

Tory. Simple economics for me. They are the least likely to put VAT on school fees and I cannot afford a 20% increase.

Antigonads · 31/10/2019 19:14

And who is paying for Labour’s manifesto promises?

Paulolina · 31/10/2019 19:14

Tory and proud

JaneEB · 31/10/2019 19:17

I would never vote for a bunch of momentum idiots that is the marxist party. Their spending plans means that once the people that they class as rich have been taxed out of the country even the lowest earners would be paying more tax. Therefore a Britain run by McDonald in all but name would bankrupt the country within 6 months.

Boris all the way, without toddlers aka the marxist playing politics we will actually be able to get out of this rut.

user1482956724 · 31/10/2019 19:19

I'm with Sunshine. My vote will be tactical, anything to keep the Tories out.

starfishcoffee · 31/10/2019 19:20

Labour probably, maybe Green.

BarbaraFromOopNorth · 31/10/2019 19:28

Definitely not Conservative.

Ladykluck · 31/10/2019 19:28

Labour
Don’t trust the Lib Dem’s as far as I could throw them.
The Tories are the party for the rich elitists who just don’t care less about anyone other than themselves. They are also determined to privatise the NHS.

Xenia · 31/10/2019 19:33

I am very very pleased to see so many Tory voters on Mumsnet. If anyonei s not sure - do look carefully at conservative policies and have a think about whom Corbyn will tax more (not the very very few very rich people - there are not many of them) but middle income earners - what you are now or what you may become.

Also Corbyn picking on people today, not footballers for some reason (!!!) but others including the 28 year olf Duke of Westminster who is hardly a hate figure, just a fairly young man who did not choose his path in life - it is just below the belt and says all you need to know about Corbyn

derxa · 31/10/2019 19:34

I think Corbyn’s speech today was excellent It was my worst nightmare.

cuparfull · 31/10/2019 19:35

Labour will bankrupt the country like they did last time... they left a handwritten note saying there was no money left in the coffers...hah Hah.
We have suffered years of austerity trying to get the public purse back in shape and the UK is still in huge debt. We cant spend what we don't have...simple household economics and yet Labour is making all these promises.... free student tuition, renationalise water, rail, etc....etc.
Its very easy to make promises when you're not in power or can be taken to task.
Where are we going to get the money once Labour have driven all the large employers out of the country by the hugely enhanced employee benefits they are promising? The tax revenues will disappear so there will be less to spend on anything. You have to have innovators, entrepreneurs willing to take risks, so you have to make the work environment encouraging.
Folk here have short memories...remember 15% interest rates? Do you really want to go back there?
We just need to get this done and focus on improving our great country. The British folk are resilient, look at our economy compared to some in Europe. We need investment in infrastructure and connectivity to improve our productivity and this Government realises it. I will work as long as I am able to pay taxes & contribute to the economy. I buy Britsh when I can, even if slightly dearer... avoid companies that don't pay their fair share of taxes like Amazon, Paypal.
No Government is perfect and there's plenty that could be done better but is this really the time to change? You could argue they got us in this mess so let them get us out. We need to pull together not rant abuse. Social media has a lot to answer for. Look at the disproportionate amount of women exiting politics. Shameful.
Sorry but the thought of Labour getting in scares me rigid...

AufderAutobahn · 31/10/2019 19:35

Labour. I don't think Corbyn should be leader but I agree with the party's policies and I regard the current Tory party as a bad joke.

MarshaBradyo · 31/10/2019 19:36

Xenia, or any other Cons voter, what do you think will happen with the NHS and health care under Conservative?

Some more information would help me make my decision.

FabulouslyGlamorousBat · 31/10/2019 19:37

Tory. Simple economics for me. They are the least likely to put VAT on school fees and I cannot afford a 20% increase.

I was about to read the thread all the way through, saw this, felt sad, and thought 'fuck it' .... I'm off to Sporners corner!
