How are you voting in December?

Apologies if there’s already a thread on this - I did look and couldn’t find one.

So now it’s been confirmed that we’re having a GE in December, how are you voting? And what are your predictions on the results?

I’ve seen quite a few posts on here over the past couple months from people saying they wouldn’t vote now as they are politically homeless - wondering if these people still feel that way?

I’m voting labour - albeit in a very safe Tory area (so feel very much as though my vote doesn’t count). Reasons being I would never vote Tory and I don’t like a lot of what the Lim Dems have said recently. I also couldn’t bring myself not to vote at all.

OP posts:

UKIP it is then.

Oscarsdaddy · 31/10/2019 18:02

Lib Dem for me then BUT I will thoroughly research. Corbyn isn’t fit to Govern and Johnson is a blatant and proven liar

Is it too late to dig Maggie up ?

Mammajay · 31/10/2019 18:03

Liberal Democrat..Boris is a toad and Corbyn is a Marxist like McDonald and Len McCluskey

Nearly47 · 31/10/2019 18:05

I am another that doesn't understand why people dislike Corbyn. He seems to have principles and hasn't been caught telling lies as far as I know. He seems to really have the best for the country and its workers in mind. And I am going for what he says and the way he votes.

CendrillonSings · 31/10/2019 18:06

Then you can't vote Tory, as they think exactly that.

Put your hand on your heart and tell me that you’ve ever met a single Tory who believes that. I bet you can’t.

ElleDubloo · 31/10/2019 18:06

Lib Dem’s. They have the most sensible policies, and not just on Brexit. They’re also environmentally friendly and support the NHS and schools.

NoWordForFluffy · 31/10/2019 18:16

Put your hand on your heart and tell me that you’ve ever met a single Tory who believes that. I bet you can’t.

Well, it's the policies of the party which count, not the voters.

And I've no bloody idea if I have or haven't as a) I don't ask people how they vote and b) I don't ask people their opinion on trans rights. Neither are particularly socially acceptable conversations, other than in very restricted circumstances (which I've never been in!).

L00seM00se · 31/10/2019 18:20

No only half the nation voted to leave, they were lied to too so frankly the referendum wasn’t worth the paper it was written on and not a reason to vote Tory.

Boris was allowed to change his mind, the rest of us now we know the truth should be able to too.

Lovebeingmama · 31/10/2019 18:21

I voted for LD, labour and the conservatives in the past. I just couldn’t vote for this hard line without a heart brand of conservatism now though. I don’t think Corbyn could be an effective leader though. LD? Green?
I’m looking at who to vote for tactically in my area to keep out the conservatives to be honest. I can’t take anymore of their ruthlessness.

Fatshedra · 31/10/2019 18:21

My vote is totally wasted here in Scotland. SNP will power through.
I'm not sure - so many people do not want another independence vote - I feel we are still getting over the last one- with lots of bad feeling and anger.

Jannco · 31/10/2019 18:21

Its classed as a spoilt paper/vote why would you do that?dont vote then, think of the people who fought to give us voting right's.

Angelil · 31/10/2019 18:22

LibDem. I want to be able to say to my son in years to come that I did what I thought was the right thing. If we don’t vote away from the 2 main parties then nothing will ever change.

For those planning to vote Tory (and I speak as a former Tory)...what is your rationale exactly?

Tvstar · 31/10/2019 18:24

What is your aibu?

MysteriousSheep · 31/10/2019 18:25

Absolutely Labour! Hopefully get rid of our useless Tory MP.
I think Corbyn’s speech today was excellent and The Labour Party is the only one campaigning for the kind of country I want to see!

truthfairy · 31/10/2019 18:28

@Nearly47 I agree and it makes me so sad. People who hate him rarely can name any policies that they dislike, and trot out the MSM smears as if they had researched and thought of them themselves. Corbyn and John McDonnel have spent years campaigning for disadvantaged groups, turning up for years to support disabled people for example, when there was no photo opportunity or political advantage for them. It seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity to elect a leader who has genuine strongly held morals. He has withstood the worst media bullying campaign ever seen, and attacks from the right wing of the party, yet has held firm, and has never ever stooped to their level with retaliatory attacks. He fought for things like civil rights, anti Iraq war, pro Palestinian rights, LGBTQ rights when they were still unpopular and he is doing it now with anti austerity, re nationalisation and workers rights. Why anybody would compare that to the absolute shit show that is the Tory front bench and still say they will vote Tory is completely beyond me. Even if you have a personal dislike of the man there are some amazing people around him like John Mcdonnel, Laura Piddock, Rebecca Long Bailey. Vote Tory, get a hard Brexit. Vote lib dem, get the Tories, vote labour get a referendum of which the worst outcome is a soft Brexit. Complete no brainer.

SimonJT · 31/10/2019 18:31

I’m gay, an immigrant and asian, voting tory would be like shooting myself in the face.

I like labours policies, but i have concerns over some MPs at the moment, I am also pro remain. I am in a safe labour seat, but also a pro remain seat.

I will be voting Lib Dem. This will be my first ever vote in a general election, my postal vote never arrived last time!

MrsSorry · 31/10/2019 18:31

SNP

Mummug · 31/10/2019 18:34

SNP

waternymph · 31/10/2019 18:35

Conservative obviously

sunshine11 · 31/10/2019 18:36

BoJo all the way #getbrexitdone

Elsie1966 · 31/10/2019 18:36

I have mostly voted Labour all my eligible years but WOULD NOT EVER vote for Corbyn. My local constituent are lib dems but don't like or agree with any of thier policies. I have never voted for conservative, and am not likely to start now so I too will either abstain from voting or spoil my paper, and I know that's awful but I just can't justify giving my vote to someone who doesn't deserve it. Sad

Elsie1966 · 31/10/2019 18:40

Jannco, I totally agree with what you say, but, none of the candidates deserve to win.

truthfairy · 31/10/2019 18:41

@Elsie1966 just out of curiosity, specifically why could you never vote Corbyn?

raisinseverywhere · 31/10/2019 18:45

I've always voted Labour but won't vote for them this time due to their ingrained antisemitism. So it'll be a vote for the LD, mainly due to their views on Brexit.

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 31/10/2019 18:45

Angelil - Because I totally agree with Conservative policies. mostly encouraging business and people to work hard, and then reaping the rewards with lower taxes. They are also much, much better at managing the economy than the Socialists, who I despise.
