How are you voting in December?

Apologies if there’s already a thread on this - I did look and couldn’t find one.

So now it’s been confirmed that we’re having a GE in December, how are you voting? And what are your predictions on the results?

I’ve seen quite a few posts on here over the past couple months from people saying they wouldn’t vote now as they are politically homeless - wondering if these people still feel that way?

I’m voting labour - albeit in a very safe Tory area (so feel very much as though my vote doesn’t count). Reasons being I would never vote Tory and I don’t like a lot of what the Lim Dems have said recently. I also couldn’t bring myself not to vote at all.

Labour, I am in a seat that the Tories hope to take from Labour so my vote really counts.

MaMaMaMySharona · 30/10/2019 07:47

If I'm honest I'm surprised anyone could vote Tory after their behaviour over the past few years - especially with Johnson as leader.

I’m not sure, I know I can’t vote for the Clown 🤡 Corbyn

ShatnersWig · 30/10/2019 07:48

I shall be spoiling my ballot. I live in a constituency that has been Tory since 1885. The current MP took 60% of the vote in 2017 and the second placed candidate (Lab) was on 21%. The amount of swing required is just not feasible for him to be unseated so a vote for Lab or Lib (who keep switching around to be the second placed candidate but always way behind) is totally and utterly wasted.

I think a hung Parliament is more likely than not at present and it may depend what happens over the next few weeks. And if that happens, we're fucked.

tangled2 · 30/10/2019 07:48

Labour, and hopefully they will unseat our useless Tory MP.

ilovehalloween · 30/10/2019 07:49

I have no idea now.

I was always Lib Dem, live in Jo Swinson's constituency. I don't really like her now.

Jeremy Corbyn and Boris Johnson are dangerous extremists.

I'd never vote snp as I'm against Scottish independence (although that resolve has somewhat weakened)

We need a new centrist party.

StealthPolarBear · 30/10/2019 07:49

Lib dem. Conservatives will win.
Does that then mean Boris will bring his agreement back and will have the votes to get it through

motueka03 · 30/10/2019 07:50

@MaMaMaMySharona totally agree. Amazes me that people would still prefer the utter appalling tories given their recent, proven behaviour closing parliament & Johnson behaving like the entitled brat he is.

StealthPolarBear · 30/10/2019 07:50

"I think a hung Parliament is more likely than not at present and it may depend what happens over the next few weeks. And if that happens, we're fucked."
In what way?

QuentinWinters · 30/10/2019 07:50

I could never vote conservative because of universal credit. People have died because of it, that is totally unacceptable in a wealthy country like ours and the Conservatives have done a great job of getting us to think that people on UC somehow deserve sub human treatment.

Also their leader is a lying, sexist, violent person. How anyone could want someone like that representing their country is beyond me.

I think I will vote lib dem because the local candidate seems like a good person.

I will just leave this here for people unaware about Boris' history

usernamerisnotavailable · 30/10/2019 07:51

conservative. am in a very safe conservative seat historically but in the referendum we voted to remain so i guess this could change.

always been a tory though. more centre right. small state. free markets etc.

despite not being happy with everything of late i really do see the only solution is a strong conservative government. get brexit done and move on.

could never vote for a party that would put corbyn in power and swinson, just no! i do t believe we can just ignore the referendum result and revoke article 50.

i would however be happy with a second referendum. so no party fits everything.

surely the GE shouldn't be about a single issue though, ignoring all other policies?

really tough.

relax2 · 30/10/2019 07:51

I have no idea why anyone would vote Tory given how terrible things are in society now / they're the worst liars ever - bojo would absolutely get us out or he would die in a ditch , 350mil on NhS translates to selling to America I am genuinely the more fearful for the future of my children that I have ever been!!

ilovehalloween · 30/10/2019 07:52

@ShatnersWig I've never spoiled a ballot before - do I just write 'none of the above' on it?

DustyDiamond · 30/10/2019 07:52

I'll be voting Tory

Am very worried it will be a hung Parliament though. Worst case scenario for me is JC getting a majority by accident.

LagunaBubbles · 30/10/2019 07:52

I'm in Scotland so SNP all the way. At the moment we have 13 Tories so with any luck they will be wiped out here, how anyone can vote for them I don't know.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 30/10/2019 07:53

I feel sick reading this. Utterly sick.

StealthPolarBear · 30/10/2019 07:53

Can people say why they dislike Jo Swindon so much? There aren't many details in the way people explain why they don't like corbyn and johnson

bellinisurge · 30/10/2019 07:53

@Tableclothing that's a very interesting perspective that I hadn't actually considered. I'm reconciled to a GFA "friendly" deal (although I'm worried about Loyalists kicking off as they did to "start" the Troubles last time). I'm not keen on LibDems wokeness but I utterly despise JC (and the Tories).
I would only vote Labour under this leader in this election if I thought the Brexit Party have a chance in my constituency. Which they have. Strong Labour Leave area with a Remain voting MP has pissed everyone Remain or Leave off on a local issue.

Dita73 · 30/10/2019 07:53

ABC -Anyone But Corbyn

AlexaShutUp · 30/10/2019 07:53

I haven't yet decided yet because I do feel politically homeless, but I will not waste my vote. I'm leaning towards green or lib dem because I want to make a clear statement on Brexit. I dislike Corbyn and feel really frustrated by Labour's non-committal approach to Brexit, but ultimately, I might have to vote for them if they're the best chance of keeping the Tories out.

Sadly, I think Boris may just scrape a majority because Labour is so lacking in leadership. However, I wouldn't be surprised if it was another hung parliament.

MamaFlintstone · 30/10/2019 07:53

Reluctantly Lib Dem. Because of Brexit, obviously. I’ve voted conservative and labour in the past but won’t vote for either party again until the current leaders and their advisors and cronies are long gone.

HappydaysArehere · 30/10/2019 07:54

I have signed up to the Lib/Dems tactical voting scheme. They are supposed to inform me as to the candidate to vote for. Can’t believe I am forced into doing this after being a life time Labour supporter. If only Corbyn had the integrity needed to step aside and let the party out of momentum’s tight grasp they could rise to the top again.

BeaBravo · 30/10/2019 07:54

I’m not sure, I know I can’t vote for the Clown 🤡 Corbyn

Corbyn's a fabulous campaigner. Ignore the right wing media and listen to his message.

IMHO Boris is the clown and I hope the public wake up to his loveable Hmm buffoon act and realise what a danger he would be to the country if given 5 years in Government.

mapleleafshiba · 30/10/2019 07:54

ABC for me too. Therefore Boris

MustardScreams · 30/10/2019 07:54

Labour. Yes can’t understand why any self-respecting woman (or man!) would ever vote Tory. You must really hate human beings if that’s who you want in power.
