Or any terrifying TV shows would also be good. Thanks in advance!

Babadook... especially terrifying if you’ve got kids

ShowYourselfLucifer · 25/10/2019 16:09

The Conjuring 1 and 2.

I think 2 spooked me out more because it's based in London - not far from where I lived at the time.

christmascrazyalways · 25/10/2019 16:11

Definitely the movie Hush! It’s on Netflix.

Fuckenstein · 25/10/2019 16:12

I wasnt scared by any of these....... Except Sinister. Creepy film.

haverhill · 25/10/2019 16:13

The Haunting (c. 1960). No blood and guts, just genuinely terrifying.
Suspiria. Another old film which is really, really, really frightening.

msmith501 · 25/10/2019 16:13

Any film directed by Dario Argento eg Tenebrae

Autumn2019 · 25/10/2019 16:23

The Orphan was scary as well..

FilledSoda · 25/10/2019 16:24

It so old now and I expect everyone knows the story but I loved The Others.

Trewser · 25/10/2019 16:24

The Others is so sad and lovely

contentedsoul · 25/10/2019 16:26

Wolf Creek - My God, how on earth did someone normal think of that storyline.

Eden Lake - That film made me so angry, simply because its too close to reality - it could easily happen this weekend.

Salems Lot - Literally shit myself first time round. wont watch it again

thecherryontop · 25/10/2019 16:27

The exorcism of Emily Rose

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/10/2019 16:29

YY Trewser. I also sob and the part where the little girl opens the curtains and says “Mummy look it doesn’t hurt anymore”.
I’m nearly crying now writing it down.

MotherAbigail · 25/10/2019 16:30

30 Days of Night scared me, as did the Paranormal Activity films. I find that a lot of modern horrors lose something, suspense maybe...about half way through. Another vote for Haunting of Hill House on Netflix as well.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/10/2019 16:31

I also agree with Eden Lane and the conjuring 1 and 2. I’d say 2 just edges it.

Christine.

Trewser · 25/10/2019 16:32

spider its the part with the husband that got me

misspiggy19 · 25/10/2019 16:33

Haunting of hill house was boring and overrated.

Wolf Creek is goos

Dramaofallama · 25/10/2019 16:33

Insidious really got me.

MissLadyM · 25/10/2019 16:33

@contented soul Wolf Creek is based on a true story...he still hasn't been caught!

WeCameToDanceWithTheDead · 25/10/2019 16:34

Also a tv show called The Terror. It's weird to say that I enjoyed such a bleak show but I really did. Fantastic acting and a real feeling of dread throughout it. I haven't seen the second season but serious 1 I would thoughroully recommend!

Tensixtysix · 25/10/2019 16:35

The Ritual is a scary film! Very atmospheric and some lovely cinematography. Based on an ancient Viking legend about one of Loki's sons.
It's on Netflix.

Randomname85 · 25/10/2019 16:36

The original Ring (or Ringu - Korean version). I had to turn all the lights on and put on a nice Disney film after watching that 😂 also The Conjuring made me fall of my chair in the cinema. The first Paranormal Activity, Insidious and Sinister. Depends what you find scary, gory stuff never bothers me (like Freddie Kruger, Chainsaw Massacre etc) it’s all about ghosts for me.

Randomname85 · 25/10/2019 16:37

Oh yes 100% the Strangers!!

Randomname85 · 25/10/2019 16:38

The Orphanage is haunting and sad also.

Whatevaminga · 25/10/2019 16:39

I love scary things and I couldn’t finish Ghost Stories on Netflix. Terrifying!

TemporaryPermanent · 25/10/2019 16:41

The vanishing (original). Its a long film for a single payoff but it completely did my head in. I am not a horror aficionado though.
