Martyrs. It’s extremely hard to watch.

Martyrs is disgusting. Hounds of love similarly hard to watch but not scary scary iyswim.

The Blair Witch really fucked me up at the time, rewatched recently and nothing!

Yeah not sure I'd find it scary second time around. I thought Hereditary was quite scary. Also The Witch! That was great.

Oh haunting of hill house was incredible, but heart breaking. I thought it was even better than the book 😮

Films: Insidious, took me three times to watch it all the way through. Also Martyrs and The Ring left me unable to sleep.
TV Shows: Scream, any of the old Twillight Zones, Masters of Horror.

Australian horrors are your best bet. They really push the taboos in films. The only ones that come close to me feeling it in my guts.

The War Game. Not horror but scared the piss out of me.

Eden Lake really terrified me because it's something you could imagine actually happening

If you are insistent about watching Martyrs at least watch the original French version
