"Next time I see it I'm burning it"

So I have this tshirt thats actually from quite a posh brand, it's a grey tshirt made from a really soft drapey cotton and it's dark grey and loose. I love the feel of it and how it moves, it's quite baggy and I wear it round the house.

Theres just one problem which is I left it outside in the garden for a whole winter and when I finally moved myself and brought it in last spring or something obviously I washed it, but now not only does it have a few (very small) holes on it, the fabric is damaged and staind kind of on the front almost like its rusted (if fabric could rust).

So anyway the other day I'm sitting around in it. DP has seen me wear it around before but this time he said "seriously can you not just buy another basic grey lounging tshirt? Next time I see it I'm burning it!"

Kinda lighthearted but where do you stand on wearing decrepit clothing?

@BeesKnees4 what on earth does it matter to you if it is? Confused

MarshaBradyo · 25/10/2019 16:51

That’s is pretty bad buy a new one

MyFamilyAndOtherAnimals1 · 25/10/2019 16:52

Oh dear god - I have only just seen the picture of your grey 't shirt', and by god, as much as in favour I am of wearing scabby clothing to save the planet and what not, that really does need to be binned. That's horrific!!

I mean, my blobby Tshirt is a horrid sight but at least it is unlikely to give me some sort of disease...

Ohyesiam · 25/10/2019 16:53

My pleasure

WombleishofTheThighs · 25/10/2019 16:56

If people purposely buy ripped jeans, OP shouldn't be embarrassed to wear a holey T-shirt.

MissPepper8 · 25/10/2019 16:56

So why can't you buy another...

TeaForTara · 25/10/2019 16:57

Well you didn't want to wear it for a whole winter so why the sudden interest now?

This. You didn't need it for months on end and now all of a sudden you just have to wear it and can't bear to get rid of it? Nah.

Derbee · 25/10/2019 16:57

@gwackywacky I just scared my DP by laughing so loud! I so wanted to to be on team T-shirt, but it really is very very errrrm, loved? I don’t think I could wear it, (and I have holes in a few clothes) but I do find it hilarious! So thanks 😂

gwackywacky · 25/10/2019 16:58

@Derbee Ask your DP!!!!!

Jesus Christ op, I was on the fence before but now I want to burn it too. You're winding us up surely?

@sparklefarts I'm not. Its clean, the material feels good, I like the cut, so what's the problem? Thats what I'm trying to understand. I don wear it out the house!

OP posts:
MoreMoneyPlease · 25/10/2019 17:00

Well, I still vote for keeping it but I'd probably try dying it first. The holes look great.

I also loved @Ohyesiam''s post, very vivid imagery.

Beveren · 25/10/2019 17:02

I was team T shirt before, but having seen it, definitely not. Surely you can get hold of another you like as much?

Derbee · 25/10/2019 17:03

I asked him what he’d think if I wore it, and he very sweetly said it would be up to me. When I said it would be like that because I’d left it in the garden for a year or so before bringing it back in, he said “I’d think you were batshit” 😂

sparklefarts · 25/10/2019 17:03

so what's the problem?

Ya know what, technically there's none, I mostly live in PJs when home, so if you're happy crack on I guess.
I still reserve the right to think 'Jesus fuck no' tho. Grin

Lipz · 25/10/2019 17:03

Dear God Shock that looks like it's been mauled by a cat, dog or rats, or all 3 Shock if someone opened the door wearing that or if I came home to someone wearing that I'd give them a fiver!! I've seen better dressed homeless people.

TheSandman · 25/10/2019 17:06

where do you stand on wearing decrepit clothing?

I don't have any other kind. Seriously. I have T shirts that are over 30 years old.

NoSquirrels · 25/10/2019 17:07

Why oh why did you wash, dry, and then decide to wear again that rag?

I mean - didn’t you wonder about the holes? Slugs have eaten your tshirt.

Get another one!

gwackywacky · 25/10/2019 17:08

@Derbee Oh God! 🤣🤣🤣Well it's quite sad I'm losing all the support I had gathered pre pic. Team Tshirt are dropping like flies.... I think I might actually dye it black

OP posts:
Derbee · 25/10/2019 17:10

I quite like the thought of walking around in it with him thinking “Derbee’s finally lost the plot” and hoping for a little glimpse of nipple through one of those holes! 😂 I hope you enjoy it for many more years Grin

Pinkypurple35 · 25/10/2019 17:10

Bloody hell I though I was lazy AF for leaving towels out in the rain, On the washing line, for 3 days in summer, but a full winter on the floor is something else 😂😂😂
Sorry OP, It’s only fit for the bin, and I say that as someone who wears jeans with a well washed curry stain on them (in the house only)

Ilovetea33 · 25/10/2019 17:11

Maybe you like it so much only because your DP objects to it?

NoSquirrels · 25/10/2019 17:11

Its clean, the material feels good, I like the cut, so what's the problem?

The problem is that you don’t have to look at it - your poor DP does.
I would find it hard to be attracted to someone wearing that level of “eww, slug-eaten tshirt with mysterious stains” attire.

You’d put me off my dinner!

fartingrainbows · 25/10/2019 17:16

I once left a jacket out on the washing line for a whole year, so your post fills me with hope that I'm not completely alone!!
