Love a butter dish thread. Mine. Who would eat that utter shite margarine anyway, feminism or no feminism? My butter dish deserves all of its three pictures. It is a Queen of butter dishes. It is about to make a speech on the opening of my fridge.

I love the metal one. My grandparents had one the same.
I have 2 butter dishes. A mini white ceramic one and a beautiful brown one from a charity shop.
The thought of fresh butter in a dish, a butter knife and thick cut white toast (ideally toasted on an open fire) never fails to make me smile.

Cornberry that is beautiful but how does it fit a standard pat of butter? Is it huge? Where did it come from?

I wonder if anyone in the world actually owns this silver plated one. A mere snip at £499!

I had one of those, but the butler stole it after I fired him for quaffing all the vintage port and replacing it with cheap stuff from Lidl.

I'm missing out on this butter dish love by using Lurpak spreadable.
Do you just take your butter dish out of the fridge for a while before use, or not keep it in the fridge?

I have the Alessi tug boat too, it's beginning to crack though and I have no idea why. Maybe the plastic becoming brittle with age? I've had it nearly 10 years.

I remember LakieLady's steel 'n' wood combo from my childhood! My mother still has the matching snack trays, which only come out when she makes "curry". Crisps in one section, peanuts in another, desiccated coconut, raisins (in case there weren't enough already in said slurry curry. Keeping it traditional like.

Does anyone own a butter bell? Very tempted but concerned that in summer the butter will just fall out into the water.

I don’t understand the round butter dishes, pretty as they are. Butter comes in rectangles ... (can’t remember the 3D work for rectangle... cuboid?)

My DM got it in a charity shop (that's not my exact one, I'm not at home). She kept it as display only. I took it home to fulfil its buttery destiny.

I googled polka dot butter dish, seems Etsy is the place to get one, lots of choice
