Gosh sorry for those huge links.

drspouse · 14/10/2019 10:37

We have one like that but again plate with cover not dish with lid.

YouokHun · 14/10/2019 10:38

I’ve already bored you with my future butter dish OP, but here it is again.

I need a butter dish. Off to look in some charity shops!

CravingCheese · 14/10/2019 10:38

I'm currentöyn not home. It's fairly old and the top and button don't actually fit 100%. But it's fairly pretty, I suppose. One of the Glas ones with etched (carved?) pattern thingies.

But I'm more of an olive oil in bread person if I'm being honest...

On bread. Not in.

Idk why but I even use oil under butter jam. It's just a thing in my family, I guess. (probably weird.)

And there really is nothing better than bread with oil, salt, pepper... At least imo.

eosmum · 14/10/2019 10:41

Mine came free with bertolli butter, it white melamine with a wooden lid. I've had loads of expensive ones and this is my favourite.

And yet... here you are Grin

I'm liking the butter love. Time we all reminded ourselves that reconstituted plastic goo is not a food.

I'd make it illegal to use any variation on the word 'butter' to describe the shitslimes. Utterly butterly? Nope.

In fact I'd probably make it a requirement to use the word 'shitslime' in the name Grin

JoxerGoesToStuttgart · 14/10/2019 10:45

We don't like wot you said, we're going to play with butter now instead so NERR

Yes. That’s exactly what flora have done. (Switch “butter” for stuff that tries to identify as Grin)

Butter is no good for poor sods like me with milk intolerances though, "reconstituted plastic goo" is a great dairy free butter option.

LakieLady · 14/10/2019 10:50

@lazylinguist Did that come from a shop called Baltica? They sell lovely Polish china and it's in that style.

They have beautiful casserole dishes and a lovely heart-shaped dish that I really covet.

lazylinguist · 14/10/2019 10:51

If I were suddenly to become allergic to dairy, I'd use olive oil on bread for savoury stuff, or just peanut butter, jam or whatever for toast. Not sure about baking though - I guess I could cope with some non-butter spread for that if I had to.

twosoups1972 · 14/10/2019 10:53

@TheQueef I have that Alessi boat shaped one too in blue. Get that one OP!

Pinkarsedfly · 14/10/2019 10:54

It's from as company called Country Traditionals, and yes I think it's Polish. They have an online shop. I also have a teapot, milk jug and cups and saucers from their range. They have lots of different patterns.

Zaphodsotherhead · 14/10/2019 10:54

Can we also have some threads for people who know the difference between real cream and that Elmlea abomination?

ForeverFaff · 14/10/2019 10:55

Mine is a scruffy old Tupperware, which fits the average pat of butter so perfectly it makes my heart sing.

bakingdemon · 14/10/2019 10:56

@LOALM it is a thing of beauty. DM gave me a matching cow creamer too Grin!
