Also when did the the filters start to cross over into face to face "real" life?
I had to attend a massive inter-team meeting at work because 5 teams who had little to do with one another and are based in different locations are supposed to start working more closely together. Each team had to prepare a presentation introducing themselves personally, their client base and their day to day work.
Fine, except that everyone under 30, and a few who are older, had used extreme social media filters on their pictures.
They all looked identical - like clothing manikins... The introduction/ reference photos were absolutely useless. There was no way of using them for reference to check which live human being in the room belonged to which team or went with which name, and because the photos were on display nobody wore name tags or introduced themselves individually - one volunteer from each team did the presentation using the photos.
It's most perplexing.
In fact it's akin to using an avatar, only everyone gets essentially the same generic avatar...
Customise your in game avatar to make it individual and decustomise your real life avatar to make it generic, is that the trend?
